AI Summary
This portfolio, created by a student at CQUniversity for the PPMP20012 course, delves into the advantages and disadvantages of both manual and electronic PPPM (Program, Project, and Portfolio Management) application systems across the project lifecycle. The student's work demonstrates an understanding of product development, manufacturing processes, software, and data processing. The portfolio discusses the importance of understanding market dynamics and consumer requirements before launching a product, emphasizing the role of service systems and the collaboration needed between various sectors for implementation. It covers topics like service level agreements (SLA), key performance indicators (KPIs), and different system types, including strategic, emergent, and compliance programs. The portfolio reflects on the advantages and disadvantages of various systems and their impacts on project success and risk management, referencing mandatory and optional readings to support the analysis. The assignment also covers the topics of how PM application systems can assist project managers to monitor performance and manage changes within the project, and proposes appropriate PM application systems to support successful project execution in the infrastructure and resource industries. Additionally, it includes reflections on systems thinking, systems engineering, and their relevance to project management, including how systems engineering concepts and methodologies can help a project manager organize a project.

From the study of lecture 7, I came to realize the advantages and
disadvantages of various manual and electronic PPPM application
systems within each of the PPPM knowledge areas over project life cycle.
This discussion demonstrate the definition of product and the way
through which a product can be developed followed by manufacturing
process, software source codes, building construction, data processing
and integration. I came to know that product system is a combination of
end process and enabling products.
Before developing and launching any product the project manager and
product developers are required to understand the effects of global
economy, market segment creation, technology development needs,
trends in industry etc. In order to meet a particular consumer
requirement service systems are very necessary. However, in order to
implement any product service system needs to collaborate between
society, science, engineering and enterprises and companies. The
different technology intensive technologies services are differentiated
into information driven, customer centric, value added, product focused
and ecommerce oriented. I came to know about the properties of
services in terms of service level agreement (SLA), service KPI’s and
evolution of services.
I have also learned the different system types like acknowledged,
directed, collaborative and virtual. I have also understood the types of

programs such as strategic, emergent and compliance. The study also
gave ideas on portfolio risk management. I have learned that there risks
can either be positive or negative. It also implies that I have realized that
risks can have either positive or negative impact on project success.
