Employment relationship is defined as the efforts and initiative of an organization in order to build and
manage effective relationship with human resources of firm. The main reason of making positive
employee relation is to keep employees and staffs loyal, trustworthy and engaged them with goals &
objectives of firm (Greenwood and Rasmussen, 2017).
Sainsbury' s is the second largest supermarket chain of UK that offers everything from groceries,
electronics, clothing to home wares and more. The company founded in 1869 with a shop in Drury
Lane, London, it became largest grocery retailer in 1922.

Paid leaves: It is stated from last few years that state and local government made various laws
that assist paid leaves for workers which creates a lot of confusion and problem for employer in
order to assess who is needed associate with laws at every level as well as risk compliance
issues. Thus it creates barrier in managing employment relation in better ways. Employer will
need to constantly stay update tow-heads all paid leaves that are approve in states where they do
business (Countouris, 2016).
Minimum wage: Local level of government changing the law of minimum wage. Due to
unchanged minimum wages law from decades, many states are boosting minimum wage as per
themselves. This creates barrier in effective employment relationships. Thus employer needs to
update with several changes taken within minimum wages so as to ensure submission at local
and state level.

Sainsbury are as under-
Competition- It very important for businesses to recruit and retain potential employees in order to
accomplish goals. For Sainsbury it difficult to do so, as it has to compete with others who are
providing good benefits to their employees. New employees are not ready to work for Sainsbury
as they are ready to come out of their comfort zones. Platform like Glassdoor provides different
options and they are influence by them and they create strong brand image.

by big names. Sainsbury needs to modify its policies so that it can

are crucial as they leads to growth of employees and organisation. For
Sainsbury HR its difficult to motive employees to learn and go
