INTRODUCTION
Pre-placement evaluation report helps in determining ability of a person to perform certain
task. The study is based on work-based learning which will outline business environment of
Darwin and Wallace. It is a new project which is a collection of neighborhood bars inspired from
local areas. The place is different not just with respect to crowd but also from competitors in the
industry. The report will imply use of pestle, Swot and Porter five forces analysis to develop
understanding over business environment. Further it will discussion professional and person
development of individual from work environment.
TASK 1
Pestle Analysis
PESTLE analysis is a tool that helps an organization to understand the external factors
that are existing in the environment and which may impact the performance of the company. It
helps to identify the impact of different factors which are as follows-

Political-
There are various political factors that can impact the operations of Darwin and Wallace. Trends
that are prevalent in food and beverage industry may impact the production and distribution
process of the company(Peters, 2019). There are various policies of the Government of UK such
as rule related with providing nutritional information etc. are changing the perceptions of the
consumers towards the food industry. Darwin and Wallace should consider healthier food
options in their menu(Moscardo, 2015).
Some other political factors that may impact the operations of company are rate of inflation and
taxation in UK, cost to company for exporting or importing the food items, policies related with
health etc.
Economical-
There are various economical factors that can impact the operations of Darwin and Wallace.
Level of economic development of UK , rate of unemployment can also affect the scale of
operations of the company. Post Brexit, the food and beverage industry UK is facing various
challenges such as it has an impact on the exports of food items etc. The convenience in buying
food will provide an opportunity to Darwin and Wallace for increasing the sales of food and
drinks.

There are various social factors that can impact the operations of Darwin and Wallace. Trends in

There are various environmental factors that can impact the operations of Darwin and Wallace.
Company should consider the rules and regulations of Government in respect of impact of
production and distribution of food and drinks to the consumers. Darwin and Wallace is playing
an important role by becoming a part of Sustainable Restaurant Association since, it has started
the business.
Legal-
There are various legal factors that can impact the operations of Darwin and Wallace. Company
has to comply the regulations of Data Protection Act for protecting the data related with the
customers of the company. It also has to consider the rules and regulations of various acts for
protecting the patent rights etc.

Porter's five forces model helps an organization to understand the different competitive
factors and forces that may impact the profitability of the company. These are as follows-
Threat of new entrants- New companies that may enter the food and beverage industry may
impose a threat for Darwin and Wallace. Company should invest funds for conducting research
activity so that, innovative ways of production can be determined.
Suppliers bargaining power- Major suppliers who are in dominant position will have the power
of charging high prices for the raw materials. This will impact the profitability and sales of
