Prefabrication
Hypothesis
“It is possible for the transfer of technology to affect economy, government as well as the
cultures of the receiving and transferring nations. In fact so many dilemmas are opened through
it”
The technology of prefabrication will continue growing in the UK as the demand for fast
affordable systems increases. It is important to note that the technology transfer involving pre-
fabrication alongside digital tools and materials can potentially affect the environment, culture
and finally receiving the negativity of the country. Several risks are associated with the
prefabrication technology transfer. In some cases the host country may be lacking the required
infrastructure or just the professional prowess in accepting it .These negative effects ranges from
environmental, social and or economical.
Possible Objectives of Dissertation
To find out how much cost and time does a prefabricated structure needs to be erected as
compared to the erection technique of conventional structures
To comprehensively study the impacts of prefabrication on the social platforms such as
loss of jobs, architecture of vernacular among others.
To analyses the possible consequences to the environment the prefabrication introduction
To study the limitation of prefabrication technology in the context of the UK(Ogunbiyi,
Goulding, and Oladapo 2014.).
