Re: Suitable Contract
Following a careful review of tender opportunities available I wish to propose
tender reference number L - BBNSW-18-920 for our bidding. The tender is for the replacement
roofing for some blocks for Tryhard high School.
The scope of works includes include replacement of defective guttering, downpipes, flashing and
capping to profiled steel roofs within the school.
This tender is the most suitable because the project falls between small and medium in size and the
work is a construction solutions undertaking, which is our specialty.
I will be glad to discuss the proposal with you should you need any clarifications.

Scenario:
Joe Lurgano, RB Holdings Construction Manager, has ask you to assist in selecting a contractor for the
supply, placement and finishing of concrete to the driveway of the 1 Lake Rd, Toronto project.
Joe has sent you the Transmittal Form and relevant documents to enable you to evaluate the tender
documentation. He has included the quotes received from various contractors, for the supply and
placement of the ready-mixed concrete. These quotes have been based on the bill of quantities
taken from the specification for that part of the project.
Part 2: Evaluate and report on tenders
2.1 You are to carefully examine the following RB Holdings documentation and respond as
instructed in line with their policy and procedures. In finalising your documentation you are to create
the ’Bidders Evaluation Sheet’ in an excel program and auto sum the appropriate columns.
2.2 In the space below formulate 3 questions that you may need to ask the contractors in order to
clarify their quotes. (Hint: You may like to address this after completing task 2.1).
The following are three questions which I have formulated to ask the contractors after creating the
Bidders Evaluation Sheet:
1. Why have you provided quotation for only placement work but left out the quotation for
the supply of ready-mixed concrete and yet it is an integral part of the tender?
2. How long will it take you to complete the project? You have not provided the timelines in
which you will work.
3. At how much will you supply ready-mixed concrete? Note that you have given quotation
for only placement work but left out supply.
4.
