INTRODUCTION
Sustainability refers to ability of an organisation to meet needs of a company without making
any compromise to ability related to future generation to meet their own needs (Babajide, 2019).
In addition to natural resources, a person also needs to meet social as well as economic
resources. This project report includes analysation of different challenges occur related to
sustainability. It explains code of conduct to be adopted by company in order to resolve these
issues. It discusses and guide about different organisational bodies.
TASK
Introduction and define different issues and challenges
There are different issues occur in business related to sustainability which are important
for purpose government action, organisation policy, lack of professionalism, optimum utilisation
of resources which create impact over performance of company. It is essential for company to
focus on issues and needs of company (Craps, 2021). There are some high regulation of
government which create impact of government as sometimes companies are unable to follow
these regulations. There are some policy of company which does not allow them to be that
sustainable which is require for them as main focus of company is on generating more profit.
Companies are also facing challenges related to optimum utilisation of resources as it is
important for them to protect natural resources. Companies can overcome to these issues by
developing effective strategies in order to overcome of these issues. For instance, managers of
Unilever is using sustainability as their unique selling points and also needs to think for long
term in order to overcome of issues related to sustainability. It is also important for them to
communicate efficiently with different members of company which allow them to protect
resources from wastage. Sustainability issues can create various negative impact over
performance of company for instance, it create negative image of Unilever and also create
impact over their performance. It also results in increasing cost of company and does not allow
them to utilise different resources efficiently.
Explanation of code of conduct which assist for resolving issues
Code of conduct refers to common policy of an organisation in which a company outline
principle, moral as well as ethical expectation and standards of company in which employees and
other parties are held for purpose of interacting with organisation (Heath, 2021). It is

responsibility of employees and employer to maintain personal integrity, corporate values as well
as ethical principles in order to solving different ethical issues like sustainability. It is important
for employees of Unilever to be passionate about goals and achievement of organisation (Heron,
2017). It is also important for employees to adopt code of conduct in which they needs to be
open and honest with their employees and also needs to be provide right guidance to their
employees. They should also ensure respect and fair treatment for each employees which allow
them to contribute in effective manner. It is important for managers of Unilever Plc to adopt
code of conduct in their organisation due to various reason as it allow them for purpose of
maintaining professionalism in their organisation. It is also important for them for purpose of
mitigating risk in their business and also important for purpose of marketing and compliance.

Unilever plc is an organisation which are adopting different ethical practices in order to
avoid ethical issues which is important for them as it create positive image of company in minds
of their customers. It is also essential for a company in order to reduce cost of company an also
improving their performance (Fletcher Jr, Warren and Hernández-Gantes, 2018). It can be done
by company by developing different strategy and adopt ethical code of conduct. It can be done
by managers of Unilever Plc by understanding of principles of company, debate about different
moral choices and also with adopting balance approach.
It is important for an organisation to adopt professionalism at their workplace as it
provide them various benefits. It is important for long term success of company and also
interaction of company with employees along with maintaining good relationship with customers
are essential for purpose of attainment of goals and objectives. It helps to establish boundaries in
business in order to consider appropriate boundaries or not. It is important for business in order
to encourage employees for improvement and also for maintaining accountability.

Adoption of code of conduct and professional body in an organisation create various
positive impact on an organisation. It allow company to follow different law of government
which helps them to reduce interference of government in company. It helps them to develop
better culture in an organisation which is essential for purpose of improving productivity of
company. It provide competitive advantage to an organisation as they can differentiate their

business from those of other players in market. It allow employers to provide employees with a
comfortable environment where they can communicate freely under some ethical boundaries
(Main, Wang and Tan, 2021). It helps them for purpose of attracting more investor for business
and also for ensuring betterment of society.
Adoption of code of conduce and professional body not only create positive impact but
also create negative impact over companies. It does not allow employees to communicate with
employees freely as they needs to maintain a boundaries (Rindlisbacher, 2020). As ethical code
of conduct increase cost of company as they needs to adopt different technique which helps to
avoid negative impact of company on environment and future generation.
CONCLUSION
From above mentioned project report, it can be concluded that there are various ethical issues
occur in business which is to be identified by managers of company. Sustainability is one of
ethical issues occur in business that is related with optimum utilisation of resources, lack of
professionalism and government action. In order to solve thee issues, a company can adopt
professionalism and ethical code of conduct which helps them to improve productivity of
employees and also for improving performance of employees.
