INTRODUCTION
Reflection can be defined as the process of sharing personal reflection with others so
that all the old experiences could be relived. In order to write a reflection, it is very
important for an individual to make sure that accurate information is shared with others.
This essay is based upon my personal experience of module (Bell, 2017). For this
purpose, different topics are covered in this essay which are development as a leader
and the way in which future challenges and expectations of a university course could be
approached.
MAIN BODY
Development as a learner
At university preparing for success module was studied by me which helped me to
develop my knowledge and creativity. Tutor guided me and my classmates to work
effectively so that we can complete all the tasks that are allocated to us properly. During
the module I developed as a learner which helped me to analyses all my weaknesses.
At the beginning of it I was very confused about the way in which I can deal with all the
negative aspects of my behavior. I felt that for all the individuals it is very important to
assess all the weaknesses which are affecting the way which helps to attain success. It
is very important for all students like me to develop as learner so that employability
related skills such as communication, decision making, interactive, problem solving etc.
qualities could be improved.
During the module of preparing for success I developed as a learner as when
lecturer allocated tasks to me and other students of my class then all of us tried hard to
work effectively so that we can complete them in the specific time period. Main reason
for developing as a learner is to enhance chances of getting desired job in future. There
are various other factors which also helped me to develop as a leader which are making
improvement in my capabilities, dealing with all the weaknesses (MacCallum, 2019).
In order to be developed as learning during the module of preparing for success I
tried to detect all my weaknesses so that I can take strict action against them. While
completing the projects that are allocated by tutor, I diagnosed that I am not able to
manage work and plan it. Another weakness of mine which are analyzed by me while

studying the module was lack of time management. All these weaknesses were dealt by
me during the module so that I can became a learner. Learning is very important for all
the individuals so that they can grow in life.
The main thing which went well for me in the whole module was improvement of
my communication skills which are beneficial for me to grab all the opportunities in
future at professional level. It will help me to interact with all the individuals when I will
be working in an organization in future.
Reflections on the way in which future challenges and expectations of a university
course could be approached
All the students who are passing from schools join university for further studies. When
the select one from them then they may face different challenges. It is very important for
them to deal with all such challenges properly so that success could be attained by
them (Rudd, 2019). Some of the issues which are experienced by them are poverty,
technology, lack of knowledge about career, parent involvement.
Some of the students are not able to pursue the course which they are planning
because of lack of funds. In order to deal with this issue, they can take scholarship or
study loan which will help them to pursue the course which they are willing to attempt. It
is the best approach which can help to respond this challenge properly.
Technology is also an issue which is related to university courses. With the
enhancement in technology various new courses are being introduced in colleges. It
creates confusion for students to select one. Another challenge which is also faced by
university students because of courses is lack of knowledge. In order to deal with both
these issues they can take counselling. With the help of it all the challenges could be
dealt by them systematically as they will get proper guidance from expert.
Parent involvement is also an issue which is also faced by students in university
courses. In order to deal with it, students are required to talk with their parents so that
they can select the best course which is required to be selected by them for attaining
growth in future.
Some of the university courses expectations which are dealt by students while
selecting courses are higher expectations of parents, teachers, society etc. In order to
respond to these expectations, students are required to make sure that they aware their

parents about their career goals. It will help them to deal with all the expectations
because by interacting with teachers and parents they will be able to pursue all the
goals properly. Communication is the best approach which could be used by students to
respond expectations (Turner, 2018).
CONCLUSION
From the above discussion it has been concluded that learning and development is
very important for all the individuals. In order to be developed as a learner it is very
important for all the students to assess all their weaknesses and overcome them. For
this purpose, they are required to work effectively and take strict actions. There are
various types of expectations and challenges which are experienced by students when
they select university courses. These are parent’s involvement, poverty, lack of
knowledge about career, technology, parent’s, teacher and society’s expectations.
