INTRODUCTION
Preparing for success at university level consist of interactive web learning by which a
student gain advance skills and knowledge about their interest area and career objective. In
addition to this, it also help in gaining knowledge about where a person stands and what are its
weaknesses as well as strengths (Bae and Darche, 2019). Participation in context of delivering
knowledge develops creativity and confidence between students depend on which they become
self developed and self reliant to develop their abilities as well as exploit future opportunities in
an effective manner. On the other hand, academic preparation is mainly the foundation of
students in which they avail knowledge and improve their personalities by focusing on their
weaknesses. It is important for an individual to focus on self development as it help in gaining
best opportunities in this competitive and diverse environment. Diverse activities are developed
in order in order to prepare students to gain success and perform effectively on different
conditions by resolving solutions in a proper manner. The report will discuss about the skills and
knowledge required to be an effective student. In addition to this, it covers how a person will
approach future challenges & expectations of a university course.
MAIN BODY
It is significant for a student to have knowledge, skills and competencies to develop and
show themselves as effective. It help in gaining opportunities and secure future in an appropriate
manner. I am recently completed my higher education and enter into new life of university
(Epstein, 2018). For this, it is important for me to self analyse and responsible as it assist me to
know my strength and the area where I required improvements in order to gain success within
the university. In addition to this, it is analysed by me that in the present time there is high
competition in market and to remain in it, it is important to focus on weaknesses and improve it
in an appropriate way. There are various skills and knowledge need in order to be an effective
students, which are as follows:
Communication skill: It is consider as one of the important aspect that is important in an
individual and students as well. An effective communication and interaction allows a student to
make relationship with others and present their ideas in an understandable and proper manner.
As a student in the university, a person is needed to give presentation in groups and single as
well. Good communication skill allow in delivering effective and appropriate information that is
easily understandable by the students. It is analysed by me that I am quite good in

communication and required to improve so that I can get the opportunity in future and as a
student, it help me to gain success and growth in this diverse environment. For being an effective
communicator, it is important for a student to have an active listener, confident, empathy, clarity,
friendly and many more.
Time management skill: Another skill that is needed in order to be an effective student
is managing time as per the activities so that the objectives is attained on time period. In addition
to this, it help in implementing activities without any delays and students as well. In a university,
students are assigned with various projects, case studies, presentations that is needed to be
deliver on time which leads to attainment of effective outcomes and results as well (Fuller,
2017).
Team working skill: This skill help a student to develop an effective relationship with
their team members if a project is assigned to them. In universities, most of the activities is
assigned within the groups and to work in a team with effective coordination and cooperation it
is significant to have team working skills. It is observed by me that I am cooperative and have
the ability to work with others in any projects. This will help me to attain best opportunities in
future and make my self as a team leader.
Note making: Being a student and attending the class requires a student to makes notes
so that particular topic is understand by them in a proper time. Developing notes also help in
future as whenever a student see it quickly stuck in their mind which is easy to learn and
understand topic at any point of time. I have developed all the notes which help me to grab
understanding and knowledge about any topic rapidly. In addition to this, it consume less time as
compare to the time which other students take who does not have notes. This help me to develop
my self as an effective student and attain positive results in a proper manner.
Technical knowledge: In the present time period, technology plays an important role as
it help in easy learning and understanding of particular topics. In addition to this, nowadays
students are provided online classes by using modern technologies such as Zoom. Knowledge of
all the new techniques help students to learn and take sessions in a proper manner. In context to
my technical knowledge, I have less knowledge about technologies and to conduct any activity
associated with the new technology, I take help of my classmates and friends as well. This takes
long time and impact negatively on performance level. Therefore, it is important for me to focus

on improving technological knowledge in order to be an effective student and to gain positive
results as well.
Work effectively with others in the delivery of a group project
An effective team work together to finish activity in a time period by contributing skills,
knowledge and experience of team members help in delivering group project in a proper and
effectual manner. For delivering the group project, the first factor that is important are
developing team guidelines by considering the interest area, strength and opinions of all the team
members (Jones and Masika, R., 2020). In addition to this, allow all team members to give their
opinion and ideas as it help in developing string relationship among all the team members which
further assist in delivering group project in an effective manner. It is important for all the team
members to practice content that they are going to present in front of friends and other people. It
help them in knowing where they lack and how they can improve for providing a proper
presentation. It is determined that adding facts and figures, pictures, maps help in gaining eyes of
audiences and also assist in delivering group project in an effective as well as appropriate
manner. Moreover, time management and effective interaction skills also help in giving group
project in an understandable and proper manner in front of people which develops confidence
and assist in gaining positive results as well.
Explain how you will approach the future challenges and expectations of a university course
In order to deal with the future challenges during the university course, there are various
approaches that I can use in a proper manner. One of the approach is active listening as it help n
gaining proper understanding about the problem that is arise as it help in resolving issues in a
proper manner. I will first analyse the root cause of occurrence of problem and then finding
solutions so that it can solve within a proper way. Moreover, using new technology also help in
dealing with the challenges and meeting with the expectations in an appropriate way. If any of
the challenge is arise in front of me, I will concerned it with my mentors and teachers and
working as per their guidelines that help me in solving issues and also assist in developing an
image in mind of teachers. Moreover, learning about the study skills that is problem solving,
delivering effective presentation, making notes, effective communication and many more help
me in dealing with the challenges and fulfilling the expectations of teachers, mentors during the
university course.

Furthermore, it is important for me to be an effective student and team members by
focusing on improving the skills where I lack. It is improved by taking sessions, attending
seminars, practising active listening and so on. Along with this, I require to improve my
technical skills and knowledge that is important in the present time for gaining understanding
and implementing task in a proper manner. Improvements and developing all the mentioned
skills not only assist me to be an effective and efficient student in the university but it also help
me to grab opportunities and make my future career in a proper manner.
It is analysed that there is high competition prevailing in this environment and getting a
university or job according to my requirements is difficult. The people are now becoming so
aware of the new technologies or even they focus on developing skill by attending sessions,
seminars, consulting with mentors and so on. It is observed by me that if a student have effective
skills, competencies ans knowledge level then it help in gaining admission in the reputed
university that impact on their future career as we. Self development and self analysis assist in
gaining insight about the strength as well as weaknesses. In addition to this, it also help in
knowing the opportunities an individual have so that they can grab which leads to higher growth
and development as well. In the last, it is determined by me that an effective student is one who
have good communication skills, time management, problem solving, conflict handling, research
skills, technical knowledge, team building and many more (Sutton, 2018). Furthermore, it is
important to prepare for the success in this competitive as well as diverse environment by
developing skills and knowledge level in an effective manner.
CONCLUSION
From the above study, it has been concluded that self development and responsibility is
important in order to gain growth and success. In addition to this, preparing for success help an
individual to gain insight about factors that required to be developed for gaining success and
growth. It is determined that there are different skills and knowledge is required in order to be an
effective student and these are time management, problem solving, conflict management,
problem solving, communication skills, technical knowledge and many more. Development of
all these skills help a person to attain best opportunities in future and attain personal as well as
professional development.
