Q.1 What is a presentation? How would you prepare yourself for a good
presentation?
Ans.1 A presentation is the process of presenting any given topic to the audience in an
appropriate manner. It is usually done by demonstrating, giving a lecture and building a good
rapport with the audience for presenting new ideas to them. The presentation includes a
persuasive element so as to convey the message across various groups of listeners in an effective
manner (Tandon, 2019).
Preparing the presentation for the audience is not an easy task and requires proper preparation.
Various aspects should be kept in mind while preparing a presentation. The first aspect is to find
out the objective of preparing and what outcomes would be expected by you and your audience.
The second aspect would be to identify the subject on which you would give a presentation and it
should be able to fulfil your objectives. The third point is to consider your audience for whom
you are going to prepare the presentation. Fourth is to collect information about the given place
where you are going to give a presentation so that it would provide you with an opportunity to
practice for your speech. Lastly, it would help you to practice about the completion of your
speech within the given time period (Zuraida and Ibrahim, 2019).
Q.2 How would you make a good and effective PowerPoint presentation?
Ans.2 There are various ways through which a person could make a good and effective
PowerPoint presentation. First is the creation of the simple design template using a slide master
feature which should be consistent enough with other elements such as colours, fonts and
background. Second is limiting the number of words per slides and use only key phrases and
important information to make it more attractive. The third way is to limit the punctuation and
provider some empty space per slides so as to increase readability among the viewers. Fourth
procedure is the use of light text for dark background and contrasting colours for the normal
background so as to enhance the readability of the given text. Fifth is avoiding the use of flashy
transitions as they tent to distract the viewers and results in failure of the given presentation.
Sixth has been the using of good quality images and limits the number of slides and should keep
in mind that the slides are visible on the screen (Johnson, 2019).
