INTRODUCTION
Presidential Prayer Team is a non profit organisation and whose main aim is to establish
prayer resource for the people of a country in order to pray for thousands of people in the nation,
national leaders and for the President of the country. The following assignment is based on the
Presidential Prayer of Zimbabwe. It will start addressing many questions and the first is about
convincing the government in order to create a presidential prayer team. In addition to this, it
will focus on establishing aims and objectives of the presidential team made and will also focus
on the need to pray for the President. The example will also be provided of some biblical
character which become successful due to the connection made with the God. Purposes, Beliefs
and Missions of the Presidential Prayer Team will also be expressed. Moreover, the focus will
also be made on the presence of Ultimate Power for countries and will also provide examples of
some nations that has been prospered as they respected and believed in Supreme Being. At last,
the importance of God in economic prosperity, spiritual warfare against opposition and the
easiness to govern a praying nation will be made.
MAIN BODY
Convincing the Government
Prayer can be defined as the power of words, feelings or mind that brings deep peace in
the body and mind of an individual. In Zimbabwe, the prayer week starts from 18th May to 26th
May. Prayer is the time for revival and the following week is part of everyone's role in nation
building and its transformation (Ruzivo, 2017). It is important to convince the government to set
the national day for prayer by providing it with the importance of the prayer for all those people
who sacrificed their lives for this country, who spent their whole life in the development and
prosperity of the country. A special day for all those people who had contributed in enhancing
the growth and prosperity of the country. The Government of Zimbabwe should be aware about
the importance of Presidential Prayer and the Team for the growth, prosperity and for giving
respect to the honourable leaders of the country. So for convincing the government to pray, it is
important to tell them about the importance of praying. Despite prayer being so important, it is a
sad fact that many people do not fulfil all the requirements of the prayer. There are many benefits
which prayer provides and makes it important for the people to do (Padilla, 2018). The
description of the importance of prayer is provided as under:

Direct Communication with God: The first and foremost importance of prayer is about the
direct communication with the god that could be crated with the help of prayer. Prayer is derived
from the Arabic word which means connection. Anyone who stands to pray, than it means that
the individual making his/her communication to the God (Sabawu and Masunda, 2019) .
Success Lies in the Prayer: Prayer is one of the most important factor that decides about the
success or failure of an individual during the complete course of his lifetime. It is said that prayer
removes all the bad feelings in an individual and brings positivity in his mindset which makes
him to do the right things and makes him able to avoid the negativities.
Makes Humble: Prayers do create a lot of positive impact on the mindset of a person. It is so
because humbleness is one of those qualities which is associated with the success (Zungura and
Nyemba, 2018). This impact of prayer make changes in the attitude of an individual in the
positive that motivates them to make the choice about what is right and what is wrong.
Unites the Country: Prayers also help in uniting the people of a country. This is possible when
there is one prayer for all the people of a country (Niehoff, 2017). The government of Zimbabwe
is also required to make one prayer for all so as to memorise all those people and their sacrifices
who lost their lives for this country.
Aims and Objectives of Presidential Team
Aim of Presidential Prayer Team of Zimbabwe
To encourage the people of Zimbabwe to pray for all the leaders, president and god to
give them a healthy, prosperous life and to create connection with the God.
Objectives of Presidential Prayer Team of Zimbabwe
 To create peaceful and positive environment in the country.
 To inspire people to do prayer for Zimbabwe, President, National Leaders and the Armed
Forces of the country.
 To foster the climate where the individual's faith in God may grow and develop.
Need to Pray for the President
Before doing prayer, it is important for an individual to know that for whom the prayer
has been done (Padilla, 2018). There is only one Supreme Creator of all the world and the
Sovereign God. In Bible, it is written that there is only one way to reach the God which is with
the help of the Supreme Creator's Son, Jesus Christ. The Ultimate Power is the only one who
hears our prayers and also answers to our prayers. Everything going on in the world is due to the

wish of God. Prayers says that we do not ask that we need help but the God by himself will
identify that we need help as the Presence is so merciful that there is nothing required to say or
ask. The following statement says that the followers must have a good relationship with their
leader, disciples with the teachers, citizens with the President and the people with the God. The
followers should follow the creator whole heartedly (Asuelime, 2018).
Everyone has the ability to communicate with the creator and the trust of the follower on
the creator makes this faith unique of an individual. Likewise, it is important for the followers to
focus on what the creator wants to convey him. People should know about the importance of
prayer not only for the citizens of a country but also for the politicians in Zimbabwe and for the
wellness of entire global community (Sigauke, 2018). In today's time, prayer is needed more than
ever looking upon the situations confronted by the Presidents and leaders of different countries.
President is the person who is having the ultimate power to take decisions and the person who
thinks and makes possible the welfare of the citizens of the country. Likewise, people should
pray for God as it is the ultimate power having the control over all the activities going on
globally. So the ultimate power is the only power that could help an individual in overcoming
his/her problems. In a country, the President is the leader or the ultimate power that have the
right to take all the decisions. It becomes the responsibility of citizens to pray for the President
and his family as in the normal life they also come across various challenges and they are the one
that could work for their betterment and making improvement in the standard of their living
(Dong, 2018). For example, praying that government leaders, the President and their families
would be strengthened by Christ, fulfilled by the time they have together, supportive and
encouraging one another and the citizens of their country.
Example of the Success Achieved by King Solomon in His Life
The third King of Israel had become a great source of knowledge for today's people. King
Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived and also one of the most foolish person. King
Solomon was the second son of King David and Bathsheba. The meaning of the name of King
Solomon was “peaceable”. In his childhood, his nickname was Jedidiah which means beloved of
the Lord. Solomon was anointed as the King of Israel. The success story of King Solomon starts
with the night when God came into his dream for the very first time and asked him about what he
wants, King said the the God that he wants the understanding with which he may be able to rule
over the people of his country effectively (Solomon’s Success Story, 2019).

According to Jack Zavada (2018), at the first appearing of Holy Spirit to King Solomon
in his dream, the God was happy with what was the desire of King and it was provided by the
Immortal to the King. So the Ultimate Power of the world, blessed King Solomon with what he
want. This helped him a lot is achieving success in his life. As in his reign, Israel enjoyed peace,
along with this many big projects were headed under his leadership and guidance and become
successful and he also made the commerce to be successful in his country to the time he pursued
God. He also build the first temple which was one of the wonders of the ancient world. It was
built in Jerusalem on Mount Moriah, and this task was completed in the period of ten years. In
addition to this, the blessing provided to him by God also helped him in making his country in
one of the most beautiful and made him as one of the most wise person of the times. He built
majestic palaces, gardens, roads and government buildings. The blessing provided to him by the
God was the unsurpassed wisdom and was on of hid greatest strength that made him to achieve
the peak of success in his life.
The story tells about the existence of sGod and the blessings given to King Solomon that
helped him in becoming a successful person in the world (Longwe, 2017). With the help of
understanding provided to the King Solomon as a blessing helped him in knowing about things
and work for the development and benefits of the people living in their country. His belief helped
in making his connection with God and got success in whatever the work he was heading on with
the name of Holy Spirit (Schnable, 2016). In this way, this connection gave him the ability to
become successful and achieve his and the desires of the people of their country. This also come
to be true which is clear from what he did for the country and the people living their. So that is
why it is important for people to pray, as this is the sole power controlling the whole world and
can provide with what we needs to live a healthy and prosperous life. However, not everything is
provided by God, the follower is also required to work for what he wants to achieve in his life.
The Ultimate Power can only provide the way for the goal but is the individual who is required
to walk on it.
What are the Purposes ,Beliefs and Mission of the Presidential Prayer Team
The Presidential Prayer Team established for the Zimbabwean Government is named as
“The Gathering Church” which will create a prayer for all the citizens in the country. The
following is a Team which will work for the welfare of people and in order to create positive
feeling in them so that they could avoid bad things, negative attitude and do work taking them

name of God for the best in the individual as well as the public interest. On the basis of the work
to be performed by this team, the discussion of the Purpose, Belief and Missions is provided as
under:
Purposes and Beliefs of “The Gathering Church”:
The Presidential Prayer Team of Zimbabwean Government is established with the
purpose of making the citizens of Zimbabwe to pray for the Living God for the betterment of all
the citizenry of Zimbabwe (Howard and Han, 2016). Prayer is also important for the people as it
is based on the belief that God will save and prevent us from all bad powers and will provide all
a healthy and prosperous life. Some of the beliefs on the basis of which the core values are
formed as provided as under:
 Citizens have trust that prayer is the will of God which could connect the people and the
God which will work for good in this country.
 People of Zimbabwe have faith that Apostle Paul's lessons about the prayers, petitions,
intercession will be applied by people in the country their lives which will provide the the
right path to move on (Richardson and Fisher, 2017).
 People of Zimbabwe believe not in the Ministers who delivers motivational speech and
go, instead the faith is in the Leaders and Ministers who not only speaks but also works
on the words he delivered.
 Individuals that opponent is the devil and his forces, not the people of any country and
that is why to fight with these forces, have faith in God and fight for the right.
God and the Bible:
 We have faith in existence of only one God, that exists in three persons of Son, Holy
Spirit and the Father (Ruzivo, 2017).
 People believes in the divine of Jesus Christ and the redemptive and reconciling and
salvation work of the sacrificial death of Christ.
 God exists and speaks to us with the help of Bible, which is the only book that makes the
life of an individual successful.
 Citizens of the country believes in everything written in the Bible is not within our scope
to accomplish.
Mission:

 With the help of investment and technological advancements, the expansion of the
Presidential Prayer Team will be done and people throughout the country will be agreed
to pray at their will (Musarurwa, 2016).
 To ensure continuous growth and development of the prayer in the country by the people
by their growth and focus on those tools that help in the increase in the number of people
doing pray in the country.
How Much We Need God More Than Anything As A Nation
The wisdom of King Solomon was given to him as a blessing from the God and he
described in his words that the wisdom of Spiritual Being far surpasses from the wisdom of
human beings. But not everything could be left on the God. As earlier discussed that the Divinity
could only provide the way to move but it is the duty of followers or people or an individual to
move on the path provided by the One (Marevesa, 2019). From the case of King Solomon above
discussed, it is clear that at the earlier stage the mind of King was not much developed but in the
dream, the blessing provided to him by the Immortal made him one of the wisest man of his
times. It makes clear that ultimate power helps only those who help themselves. The thinking of
King Solomon was pure which made his connection with God and he got what he want to have.
And this blessing helped the King in understanding the needs of people of his country and the
developments to be done in the country. It was only become possible with the blessing and the
path chosen by him was also right, i.e., working in the best interest of people. But at the time
when loses his faith in God, he loses all his wisdom and also comes to an end.
So God's importance is great in this world and in every nation and the wordings of the
Ultimate Power can only be reached with the help of Bible. The nature and mindset of
individuals living in a nation is always different from one another (Aeby, 2017). Some of them
may think positive and the thinking of other citizens could be negative. Intentions should also be
considered such as the intention of some people may be to do right things while on the other
hand, some may think to choose wrong path. So it becomes important to bring on the wrong
individuals also to the right path and this could be done only with the help of God and his
wordings which related to Bible and the Prayer, these two will work as a mediator in between the
people and the Immortal. It will make people to be positive and also to think positive for best in
the interest of people.

The importance of Spiritual Being for a nation cannot be defined in words, as every
activity in the world is in the control of an Ultimate Power. Not only the nation but everything
existing the world is with the consent of God. This answers the need of Supreme Power in a
nation which is more important in comparison to all other things whether nation, people or
anything (Shepherd and Elvin, 2016). Even in the harsh situations faced by an individual,
community or nation, the first thinking that comes into the mind is about remembering God in
order to overcome the situation prevailing. Thus, a nation cannot be thought of without the
existence of the ultimate power. The positivity and ultimate power lies in one hand and have the
sole right to look over the others apart from the faith of any individual. The existence occurs and
is important for every individual, every nation in the world.
Examples of Nations That Has Been Prospered Because They Honoured God
Prayer is a powerful tool which connect human being and spiritual being together and
build a better relationship among them (What Is Prayer, 2019). Each manpower has different
perception regrading God as they have unique way of communicating and pleasing heavenly
Father in order to achieve certain set of requirements or demands. However, some group of
individuals believes that it protect from several hazardous diseases, natural calamities, day to day
stress etc. whereas few thinks that it is a bridge to become more close to Lord as they can gain
enough strength to face against all evil spirit or demons and can live a happy life (Ncube, 2018).
Thus, some of the nations who gave priority to God and gained a huge success in their country
which are as follows:
USA : In today's globalised world, it is one of the leading and powerful country among
other nation. Being a Christian country, it always gave its first precedence to God which benefit
them withs lot of happiness, joy and peace within community or society to this date. However, it
has a wide and complex history as it is founded by Christopher Columbus in the year of 1492.
However, his main purpose behind sail to go to west but he landed on a ground which was not so
developed but he saw that they are a mindset of growth among population for which he begin to
make it a best nation (Daiker, 2018). Although it undergoes through various World War and civil
war among different colonies yet it in the year of 1812 it resolved outstanding tension between
Unites States and Great Britain. Finally, the biggest war occurred in the history of USA from the
period of 1861 to 1865, in which American Civil War divided the US into two i.e. North and

South and the outcome of four year of physical and spiritual battle, it kept United States together
as one whole nation and ended slavery.
Africa: It is country which was on of the poorest country among other nation but
according to present scenario it is one of the fastest growing territorial division. This is because
they trusted God rather than putting their hope on human being. Thus, according to devotion and
love towards heavenly Father, they were blessed with an powerful and impressive leader who
transformed the entire picture of Africa and i.e. Nelson Mandela. Its history is massive and
intricate subject and world shaking events in which lots of wars, conquests, civilisation,
revolutions take place and they acquired a peace and fruitful country (Chingombe and Divala,
2018). However, Africa believed that more than human effort, it was a miracle of Almighty Lord
who answered their prayers and improved raised them up from ashes to Golden Empire.
How God Help in Economic Prosperity
The prayer is consider as major source for people to get connected with God as it is
believed that worship help people in avoiding the negative things and they become able to pursue
the path of prosperity. Jesus said in no uncertainty terms that nobody can worship money and
God at same time. The one who tries to adopt Christianity for getting rich is denying Christ and
betraying the gospel. But getting rich doesn't ensure that God has approved this or it is because
of good conduct and on other side being poor doesn't mean that God has rejected the prayer or it
is because of bad conduct performed by an individual as various followers of Jesus lived their
life in poverty.
Therefore, prosperity must not be the main goal of faith in God and prosperity is also not
a proof of relationship between Christ and people but the truth remains same that Christianity
often provide prosperity to the people who worship God. This remains true at both individual as
well as well at national level. Christianity or worshipping of God produce prosperity not at
personal level but also at national level (Shumba, 2016). Because all nations have rich and poor
people but the countries with large middle class and prosperous families are the nations that
maintains faith in Bible and Jesus. On the other side, at individual level people who trust over the
Jesus and live over the path suggested by Bible, people become able to avoid problems which
causes poverty and they live in a manner which make them more productivity and prosperity as
they live with satisfaction on what they have and earned.

Spiritual Warfare Against Opposition
Spiritual Warfare is the Christian concept of fighting against the work of negative forces
such the devils, demons and other evil forces. The Bible believes in the negative forces as it says
that if the positive forces exist than the existence of negative forces is also for sure. These kind
of forces interpose in the working of human beings and also sometimes tries to harm to them.
The discussion of these forces is also provided in the Christian Demonology. Opposition here
refers to those people with negative thinking and trying to harm other people with the help of
these negative forces. Prayer is found as the medium with the help of which the spiritual warfare
is undertaken. As the prayer is described as the medium to connect with the God so in order to
fight with these negative forces and evil spirits, it is essential for the individual or people to pray
God for keeping themselves away from these forces (Ureke, 2016). However, there are also
some other practises of spiritual warfare such as exorcism, laying on of hands, fasting and
anointing with oil. In this way, by establishing connection with God, it will be possible to fight
with the evil forces.
How Easy is it to Govern a Praying Nation
In this materialistic world, every human being seeks for joy, peace, blessing, trust,
respect, hope etc. for which they adopt several elements like going to sacred place, donating to
poor, supporting the needy people and many more. ON the other hand, some group of individuals
acquire unfair practices, drugs and all which lead them to loose their life completely physically,
mentally, financially. However, spirituality is considered as powerful determinant in every
community or individual as it restrict community of doing various wrong practices which enable
them to lead a happy life. There are various benefits to govern praying nation which is described
below:
Maintain ethical value:A prayerful society will always hold back themselves from all
wrong doings and negativity and it helps them to pursue a peaceful life in their busy schedule of
work life. Along with this, ethics plays a vital role in shaping an individuals behaviours within
society as it encourage them to build and manage complex situation as well as help them to
implement a best decisions for the betterment of self interest and also for others (Tapfuma,
2016). Moreover, it help community to build trust and intimate relationship in society.
Respect others: The another benefit which prayer brings within society is respecting other
and valuing other personnel demand and interest. Along with this, it helps them to proactive
