This project presents a literature review and poster presentation on the effectiveness of repositioning in preventing pressure injuries among elderly individuals. The research addresses the problem of pressure ulcers, a common health issue in this population, and investigates whether repositioning interventions can reduce their incidence. The methodology includes a systematic search of databases like CINAHL and PubMed, using the PICO format to formulate the research question. The findings highlight that mechanical repositioning and specific positions, such as a 30-degree tilt, are more effective in reducing pressure injuries. The poster critically appraises 12 peer-reviewed journal articles published within the last eight years. The discussion emphasizes the importance of a person-centered approach and the relevance of findings to evidence-based nursing practice. The conclusion reinforces the value of repositioning strategies in vulnerable older adults to prevent the development of pressure injuries.
