AI Summary
This report details a proposed AIDS prevention program targeting youth in the United States. The introduction highlights the significant impact of AIDS on the US youth population, citing statistics from the CDC and reviewing relevant literature on prevalence, risk factors, and knowledge gaps. The project aims to raise community awareness, promote partner notification, and provide counseling. The setting involves a university rehabilitation unit and a health promotion campaign. The implementation includes seeking permissions, conducting surveys, and analyzing data to develop health promotion plans. The response involves surveying students from both the rehabilitation unit and first-year undergraduates. The report also identifies influencing factors, implications for nursing practice, a timeline, and a budget. The critique acknowledges limitations, such as the project's limited scope. The report concludes by suggesting the potential for broader application if successful. The references include a range of scholarly articles supporting the program's rationale and methods.

Review of Literature
The prevalence of stage 3 AID in US at the end of 2015 was found to be
about 304.0 for the males and 90.2 for the females and the adolescents
25% of the infections are spread due to the injection used while
administering drugs in the individuals (Muhib et al., 2016).
Lack of knowledge about the infection is one of the reasons of disease
transmission and therefore unprotected sex can be one of the reason for
the increased number of prevalence in the nation

Description of Setting
In choosing the correct setting, rehabilitation unit of the particular
university would be chosen
Individuals in the rehabilitation units are seen to be engaged in drug
taking behaviors and hence it would be helpful for targeting the correct
population (Johnson et al., 2014)
Moreover, a health promotion campaign and education session would be
also helpful for targeting all the young adults of the university.
Nurse from the hospital will be appointed to understand the scenario of
subject population
Document Page
Implementation of the Project
Need to seek for permission from the college authority
Need to seek for ethical permission to follow the protocol successfully

Health promotion plan would be implemented accordingly after
determining the lack of knowledge of young people in each aspects
(Fisher et al., 2016)
Document Page

Critique of the projects and conclusion
only involving youths of the university but cannot involve the youths from
all over the nation
very difficult to assess the implication of this project for the future
If the project is found to be successful, this can be applied at a larger scale
in the nation and would help in reduction of the prevalence of the AIDs in
the young people in the nation
