In the current era, Health and social care industry is one of the fastest growing sector
across all over the world. Thus, it has several sectors which provides health care services and
facilities to persons. At this time, health related issues and problems are regularly increasing due
to this people suffered by several diseases and health troubles. This report based on different case
studies, thus one the basis of cases there will be explaining major principles of support which can
be applied on patient. Additionally, will significantly analyse the benefits of person centred
approach in a effective and efficient manner.(Munn-Giddings and Winter, 2013) In this order,
isolation, marginalisation s impacts also will be elaborated in the context of selected case study.
However, an effective procedure for protecting clients, patients and peers from harm will be
explained. In order to this, will be systematically discussed about how health, safety and security
may be addressed in heath and social care organisation. In the last, major polices, legislations,
regulations and code of practices of health and social are will be demonstrate in a impelling
style.

practice
Generally, the main principle of health and social care is give effective and appropriate
health care services to patients so that they can get proper satisfaction towards their health
problems and diseases. According to the case study, Denis is a person who 92 years old, he
collapsed at his home with Hypothermia thus after seven weeks now he is arrived in health care
home. Therefore, he has several health issues and problems such as urine infection, inflected
foot, diabetes, heart and renal issue etc. however, in the context of this case study there are
applicable some effective principles which applied to his care. Additionally, it is necessary to be
followed all principles by staff members of health care home in a effective way such as under
below:
 Denis is eligible to take support of government benefits, as he is an over age person and
he is not able to earn money so it is essential fr the residential home care organisation to
provide them support financially.

 Privacy is a prior and basic need of patients and in the case of Denis it is essential for the
medical team to provide him a proper privacy and confidentiality regarding to his
diseases.
 Effectively should be prepare care plan and health care services so that staff members can
gather proper information regarding Denis.
 Should significantly communicate and interacted by service workers with Denis so that
they can effectively identify he's needs and demand.(Aveyard, 2014)
 Must be using smart and advance technologies at the work place of health and social care
organisation.
 It is needed to be enhance choice and control of treatments

Above mentioned points comes under principle of support. Danis have some rights which
is ignored in this case. He did not have money care taking organisation and government should
make sure that he get his pension on time and they should raise his pension amount in order to
fulfil his medical needs. Community and other care groups should talk to him on continuous
basis so they can motivate him to live and give him necessary attention. Providing care to needy
person is crucial part of principle of support. Carer taker and doctors should help him without
changing any money from him because his financial condition is not sound.

Question 2. Analyse benefits of using a person centred approach for Denis
Person centred therapy was made by Carl Rogers in 1940 it also can be known as
Rogerian Therapy. According to this approach, it is required to be full fill needs, wishes and
demand of patients so that they can get proper satisfaction towards their health issues and
problems. In the context of case study, Denis suffered by several health related problems such as
urine infection, foot contagion, diabetes, heart and renal causes etc., also he were isolated.
Therefore, according to the Person Centre approach will provide some significant benefits to
Denis which are here;
Essential facilities: As Denis is disable to walk so by using this approach wheel chair, stretcher
facilities will be provided by the residential care home management to take him any other place
in the hospital.
Communication: As he is an old age isolated person so it is prior to communicate with him to
encourage him to be alive and do not attempt suicidal attempts in the future. It will also helps to
analyse his personal needs and feelings which can be accomplished by the care home
management in terms of medical care (Balarajan, Selvaraj and Subramanian, 2011).
Communication is an effective source which can help to decrease his frustration level to
minimise the risk of self harming.
In the other words, person centred approach has some benefits for Denis which all are
elaborating under below:
 At this time regularly increased and people living with long term health issues and
conditions due to this, historically health care services are made fro reactive, episodic
care so that patient can recover from their health problems.
 With the help of this significantly provide an episode of care such as a knee operation to
patient.
 Due to this aspect, respectively increased the focuses on the actual importance of patient
experience with in the health care centre.
Person-centred approach focuses on understanding and fulling needs of a patient. If their
wishes get fulfilled in right time then it will make a positive impact on mental condition of
patient. Denis also have some preferences, this approach will make sure that his key desires are
met in appropriate time. Privacy is another issue in this case, this approach concentrate on

maintaining high level of privacy relating to information of Denis's health. Another benefit of
this approach is that it explain all the facilities which patent is getting. Denis will not feel that no
one is taking care of him if this approach is used. This will be very beneficial for his
psychological situation which are currently motivating him to end his life.

Social processes plays an important role in every person's life because an individual's
behaviour, nature, attitude and so more are based on society. Thus, it directly impacts on people
either positive or negative. In the context of given case study, Denis is a 92 years old person who
suffered by different diseases and health problems. Also he felt isolated because he is alone after
the death of his wife 2 years ago. Due to this, sometimes he wants to die. Therefore, staff
members and doctors also notice to him while taking suicide. Apart from this, when a person
suffered by isolated, social exclusion and marginalisation then his thinking, attitude, behaviour,
language also changed because he does not like to communicate and interact with others.
Isolation: It is an defence term in psychoanalytic theory generally it is feature as a
mental eurocreep which affect thinking, behaviour due to this create gap between an unpleasant
cognition and thoughts and feelings of patient.
Social exclusion: In which an individual totally restricted and blocked by their rights,
powers, opportunities that are normally available for persons. Due to this, some persons become
depressed and easy to angry.
Lack of proper knowledge about various benefits which is patient get is one of impact of
isolation or exclusion. Poverty build an unnecessary pressure in the mind of a patient, it
ultimately affect health of patient in negative way put sufferer in a condition where he/she cannot
get necessary medication because of scarcity of money. Exclusion from society can one of the
main reason which generate suicidal tendency in a person, isolation can create many kind of
negative thoughts in a person life.
Further, Denis influenced by all these things it affects psychological, physical and
emotional. Thus, there are elaborating basic impacts of isolation, social exclusion and
marginalisation such as follows:

organisation. As he has found that the resident has not taken epilepsy control drug so Thus,
Arthur taking medication round in the evening then night nursing staff identify patient suffering
from epilepsy not had take epilepsy control drug in whole day further it has happened in third
time when senior person was on duty. He has to use this specific procedure in these type of
situations:
Assessment of risk: First part of the procedure is to identify what is the risk. In this case,
the patient who has not taken drug for treating epilepsy can do harm to other patients and staff
members. This patient can go out of control do any kind of physical violence, he/she can also
hurt himself.
Inform to authorities: Once risk is analysed and its impact is evaluated then second step
of procedure is to communicate relevant authorities about what will be the affect of this risk on
health of patient and other people. They are the one who can take decision, so informing them
about potential harm to various people is significant.
Separate him from others: Last step of the procedure is to take permission from
authority regarding keeping patient at a different location so he can be taken care in proper way,

individuality, personal autonomy, dignity or human rights as well as respecting decisions of one.
In order to make comfortable the clients and protect them from upcoming threats or complex
situations. There are various laws and legislation as well as policies that an organisation have to
comply for protecting their information and defending them from self harming:

conflicts and problems among care workers and users. In the other hand, according to the given
case study, Mrs. Helen is a 20 years old lady who is pregnant and Black Hispanic female. Hence,
as per the report of Emergency Department she is in critical situation due to the single car
accident. As well as she has exhibited signs of internal bleeding hence she needs better health
care treatments so that Helen and she's baby become safe. Further, due to the being as a Jehovah
Witness she does not want to accept blood transfusion and reject surgery. In order to this, staff
members and doctors are face ethical dilemma of Mrs Helen. In this situation, care are workers
can communicate with higher authority, she's family members and take appropriate decision for
her (Braveman and et. al., 2011).
Question 6 In the case study evaluate the effectiveness of interpersonal working and in other
health and social care context.
Inter-professional Working: This refer to interrelation of working between professional
groups such as police offerers, social worker etc. In the collaborative process, each of those
professional groups cater their won perspective which contribution can harnessed to deliver their
experience and services standard of career and users.

is pregnant 20 years old lady. She is in critical situation because she had an single vehicle car
accident. Due to this, she suffered by internal bleeding. In this situation, she need blood
transfusion and surgery but she was refused due to their religious belief. (Nigam and Ocasio,
2010)
At this time, it is necessary to be take effective decision by nursing staff of the health care
organisation so that Mrs. Helen and she's baby become safe and secure. Care works and doctors
should be use their interpersonal skills and capabilities as well as should be effectively
communicate with their family members and provide proper information to them. Without
permission of patient and home unit nursing staff and doctors cannot take any decisions for
patients. Apart from this, it is very essentials to handle these type of situations and resolve them
with the help of effective solutions. So that care workers will provide better health care services

towards their health diseases and problems. Before implementing polices, legislations an code of
conduct must be properly analyse and evaluate national and local polices in a effective ad
efficient way.

which the some premisses and precaution linked with fire and security has been undertook for
protection care home. This sets some guidelines each care home worker or patients have to
follow for better functioning of its system.
Care Standards Act, 2000: This act is prosed in united kingdom and which help in
providing the administration of various associations that includes homes of children, hospitals,
nursing house and residential care home.
Care homes (Wales) regulations 2002: these regulation act are made under the care
standard act 2000 and apply in relation to care standard homes. This will provide
accommodation and personal care for people who have been doing various functions and
activities.
Polices: Health care staff is one of the most sensitive due to this must be effectively
follows rules, polices and regulations of the health care home. Moreover, health and effective
legislations are aids to develop health environment at work place of health care home due to this,
staff members will significantly provides better health care services and facilities to patients as
per their needs and requirements. So that they can get proper satisfaction towards health

Legislations: In the other hand, employees or staff members of health care organisation
must be follow Data protection Act at the work place. According to this Act, should not be reveal
any kind of information and documents of patients. If any employees use their documents and
data for another work then government and higher authority of health care organisation can be
take legal action against that particular care worker. As per given case studies in the report,
Denis is isolated person who suffered by several kind of diseases thus in this situation, according
to the data protection act does not reveal its information and documents by care workers because
it is an illegal activity according to the legal rules and regulations of the government.
Code of Practice: Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulation (COSSH) is
one of the another major regulation for care workers. According to this rule, must be provide
necessary drugs and medications to patients as per their health situations and problems so that
patients can effectively recover from their diseases and get proper satisfaction in a effective
style. In every health care organisation must be systematically follows all legal rules and
regulations which is regulated and enacted by high authorities and government of the country.
