INTRODUCTION
Principles of management is one of the best and overall guidance for examining the performance
of the organisation. Organisational management is very crucial to any company that expects to
be effective, efficient and accomplish its goals. If there's in no one in the level of authority then it
would be organisational disorder in no to very low composition to be focused. Although, there
are four common operations of the management such as , planning, organising, controlling and
leading. It states that any company in place working without following these principles of
management can lead to creating difficulties in accomplishing the goals. The aim of the
following report is to cover a report which reflects on my group projects using different theories
like team work and motivational theories and to describe myself using CVF's action imperatives
discussed.
TASK
Reflection on my group projects:
I am very happy and glad to work on a group project with my other team members. It helped me
in so many ways that it enhanced my productivity which helped me in developing more skills.
Initially when we were assigned the project we faced lots of problems in team work which
affected our productivity so to overcome this factor me and my team mates decided to follow
Tuck man's model of team development (Jardioui, Garengo, and El Alami, 2019). This model
was really helpful for us as team to grow and work together on the project effectively. Tuck
man's model of team development has four factors which are described below:
Tuck man's model of team development- This model offers easy and convent way to learn about
the team development an how to work effectively and efficiently as a team and is very helpful in
development and training of people in a team, which assists them to achieve their tasks with the
full enthusiasm, team work and potential. Four phases of this model are described below:
Forming- This is the initial level of this model as it enables teams to form and leaders or
managers of that particular team provides the clear directions and instructions about the
objectives and how to achieve those tasks.
Document Page
Storming- In the second level of this model which states that team which was formed and
instructed is now required to build bond and trust with in the members of the team and
construct a mutual respect among them (Vogel, C.W., 2018).
Norming- It refers to the obeying the instruction and guidance of the leader which
enables them in creating the bond between members and team leader.
Performing- In this level of tuck man's model, it refers to focus on achieving tasks and
goals in accordance to the contribution of every member in the project equally with the
guidance and directions of the leader.
Adjourning- In this level, task is achieved by the group members with their individual
efforts to complete it have been measure and praised n accordance to the performance of
the team.
With the help of above model me and my team member were able understand the project which
was assign to us and also helped in giving more creative ideas and applied them which enables
us to make some decisions which were flexible to change. In the process of doing the project
every member in my team was able to monitor their performance and effectiveness to perform
the perform the given project. All the members were given instructions about the job roles in
accomplishing the task and it took some difficultly but everyone was able to understand the
project and their contribution in completing the given task. As it was our first task together,
initially each of us were not able to understand or was aware about the potential contribution of
each of the other team members but later after understanding the each other properly and about
our problems, we supported ourselves and helped each other in order to create a worthy
contribution and in developing. Moreover, our team used to listen to everyone properly about
their problems and ideas. We were always focused on the decision making and the process of our
manner of working if it is being done in effective way or not. I usually try to appreciate my team
mates on thei good performance and also used give useful feedback on their performance to the
members who expected me to and even I requested my mates to give me the suitable feedbacks
on my performance which influence the working of the projects. We worked as a team without
any problems and conflicts (Huang, 2021) if there any small conflicts in any decision making we
used to resolve it harmoniously and we also used to manage our works in accordance to the
priority which has enabled us to be more effective in our performance to accomplish our project.

Initially when we were assigned our project we had faced many issued to encourage each other
to accomplish our respected goal (Dinh, and Salas, 2017). So, to overcome it we used to
motivate each other with many ways but then my one team mate suggested to use Herzberg
theory of motivation, which had enabled us to increase our morale in order to perform much
better. Hence this theory is described below:
Herzberg theory of motivation:
It states that there are some factors at the organisations that gives satisfaction while discarding
components which gives dissatisfaction. There are two factors in this theory which are
mentioned below:
Motivation factors- This factor promotes the people for performing with efficiency and it is
involved in performing a job. This is done for the people by rewarding them as promotion, in
achieving a goal and objectives . The factor includes :
Recognition- People should be appreciated and recognised for their efforts on achieving
a goal by their seniors that will motivate the people for their job done for the specific
task.
Growth and promotional opportunity- The organisation should know that how to convert
opportunity in achievement. It is depends on the work, they should work with all the
devotion and with good mind set.
Sense of achievement- The employee should know that how to convert opportunity in
achievement. It is depends on the work, they should work with all the devotion and with
good mind set.
Meaningfulness of the work- It refers to the work that is provided to the employees
should be interesting and challenging to perform . So that the member get motivated.
Responsibility- It determines that the member should be responsible for the work. The
seniors should provide the control in the hand of managers or employees , so that they
will understand their responsibility of doing task on time by attaining the objectives.
Hygiene Factor- In this component, there are wants which a person desire and assume to be
accomplish. This factor includes:
Document Page
Pay – It influence that reward structure must be suitable and sensible. It should be
balanced and competing to the others which are working in the same industry and in the
same orbit.
Company Policy- The policies of the business should not be strict and should be clear. It
should include breaks, vacations, flexible working hours, dress code. The managers or
seniors should give the effective and subsidiary work environment.
Fringe benefits- it states that the organisation should give health care plans, welfare for
family, employees insurance etc. These factors satisfies the employees that if anything
happens uncertain they have benefits that will save them.
Physical working conditions- This factor determines the working condition of the
organisation which include safe, clean and hygiene. The inventories which are provided
they must be updated and well maintained (Ghasemi, Sabzmakan, and ASGHARI, 2017).
After discussing above theories me and my teams members adopted motivation theory which
helped in encouraging us to complete our tasks and even also to let our morale down when we
faced any sort of problem in our project instead we took it as challenge to resolve it with higher
motivation which has enabled us in successfully completing our projects together.
CVF’s Action Imperatives discussed below:
CVF's Action Framework-
Collaborate:
After analysing and evaluating my competing values, my skill level of some its segments which
are mentoring and developing others, managing groups and leading teams are very high and right
now competency level of these skills are also high so I will try to enhance more of my these
skills to next level with in next three years. My understand to myself and to others are bit
moderate right now but in today's scenario I have to use this skills on regular basis `which is why
I have to enhance it to high level. Moreover my encouraging and managing creative conflicts
skills are very low and now on daily basis I need this skill on moderate level so I will try to adapt
this skill till moderate level in upcoming 3 years.
Control:
My encouraging and enabling corporation skills are high but I required it in bit moderate level so
I will try to keep this skill to the same level as it is now. Where as my organising information
flows, working and managing across functions skills are moderate and are now required it in this
level so I will keep it that way in next upcoming 3 years.
Compete:
My goals and objective settings and managing execution and driving for results skills are very
high and is required in same level currently so I will try to enhance my these skills in order to
support my career. Moreover my motivating myself and my team members , designing and
Document Page
organising skills are bit moderate but required in a high level so I will try to learn more in
upcoming years (Simpson, and et. al., 2020).
Create:
In it every skill I possessed is on moderate level and is required to the moderate or high level so I
will try to enhance my these skills in upcoming years which can help me in future career growth.
CONCLUSION
From the above report it is concluded that in order to complete a project it requires lots of skills,
team work and motivation. So after analysing many team work theories it required motivation
also to complete a task efficiently and effectively. Furthermore it after analysing CVF action
framework it has given a overview of level of skills which required right now and can enhance
in upcoming years.
