INTRODUCTION
Reflective writing can be referred to as an analytical practice wherein the writer describes
about an event which can either be real imaginary. It can be said that a reflection is important in
academic writing because it enables the writer to analyze their thoughts, feelings or learnings
from the event (Trittin-Ulbrich and et.al., 2021). The respective report is a reflection about the
learnings in the first six weeks of the semester. This will provide a better understanding about the
overall learnings from the module.
MAIN BODY
We had to study the module “Principles of Management” in our semester and the module
was divided into various parts that we had to study in different weeks. During the first week, we
were introduced to the module wherein the tutor initially explained us the session etiquettes and
general guidelines for the lecture (Wen, Wu and Long, 2021). During this week, three main
topics where discussed, which included what the module is about, the importance for Web Learn
for studies and out input to the studies. The tutor made us understand the module as well as
course structure. Personally, I felt that the tutor explained the different aspects of the module in a
detailed as well as effective manner. I believe it is important for the tutor to make the students
understand the basics of the module effectively, so that they are able to perform effectively in the
future. It was during the second week that we were given an introduction to management. I think
that the second week of the semester was interesting as I got to learn about many new things as
well as what should I do in order to achieve good grades. We were also provided information
about the formative feedback along with an overview of a research and how it is conducted.
During the next week, which was the third week, the tutor provided us with an understanding of
the practice of managing organizations. During this week, I got an understanding of management
as well as the different organizational activities. During each of the six weeks, I have gained
knowledge as well as learnings that I believe will be helpful for me in the future.
So far, I have learned about the concept of management and the reason why organizations
need managers. I have also learned about the different skills as well as qualities that make up a
good manager. I have also learned about the management theory, the industrial revolution as well
as the competing values framework. According to me, our tutor helped us in understanding each

of the topics that were a part of the module in an easy as well as understandable language and
hence, I think that this is why all the students were able to understand the same in an effective
manner. Apart from this, I can say that I have also developed an understanding about the
different types of business environments. But mostly, I have learned about the contemporary as
well as traditional approaches of management. The tutor used PowerPoint presentations during
the lectures which I can say proved out to be very helpful. I have learned that there are four
different types of contemporary approaches to management. I can say that this has helped me in
enhancing my overall performance during the semester. And I will be able to implement my
learnings in an effective manner.
During the semester, there were different activities as well as tasks were assigned to us
that we were expected to complete. The tutor provided us with constructive feedbacks for the
different tasks as well as tests so that we were able to develop an understanding about our
strengths as well as areas that we had to improve on. My tutor gave me feedback saying that I
was good at certain areas and that I had basic knowledge about certain things. My tutor said that
I was able to provide brief explanations about the different questions and that I should provide an
effective understanding of the same. I think that the feedback will be useful for me in improving
my overall performance in the future and achieve the overall goals as well as objectives in an
effective manner. I think that I need to improve on my skills about including detailed explanation
about the same. I can say that by working on my weaknesses, I will be able to achieve my overall
goals as well as objectives in an effective manner. I also want to ensure that I work on my
weaknesses so as to strengthen them. This will be very beneficial for me in the future and in
enhancing my overall performance as well.
Next, I want to strengthen my existing knowledge about the different principles of
management as well as the theories of management. This is because it will be helpful for me in
enhancing my performance as a student in the future. In order to do so, I will read about the same
in different books so that I get an idea about them. This will strengthen my overall knowledge as
well as help me in implementing the knowledge practically as well. Apart from this, I will also
ask my tutor to help me with the same by arranging some extra classes. I think that these two
things will be helpful for me and also, I will be able to develop a better understanding of the

same. Therefore, on the whole, I can say that these are some of my learnings during the first six
weeks of the semester and I an looking forward to enhancing my knowledge from the same.

CONCLUSION
From the above report, it can be concluded that reflection is important part of academic
writing and helps an individual in analyzing as well as understanding their thoughts about a
particular event or scene. Also, management is important for an organization to work in an
effective manner and there are different aspects of it such as planning, organizing etc. Also, there
are different ways in which a person can enhance their knowledge and strengthen their strengths.
