INTRODUCTION
Health and social care management is important for the firm in order to provide effective
services to users in order to improve cultural and individual life effectively. The report will cover
principles of support in wellness and social care practices and procedures of East and West care
home for protecting clients, patients, and colleagues from harm along with benefits of following
a person-centred approach with users of health and cultural care services. In addition to this, own
roles, responsibilities, accountabilities and duties in context of working with those within and
outside the health and social care work place and own contribution to the development and
implementation of health and social care organisational policy will be discussed. Finally, the
report will provide recommendations to develop own contributions.
TASK 1
1.1 Principles of support in health and social care practice
Health and social care are the essential aspects of our lives which helps everyone to select
the way of good wellness. It helps to support the practices. It analyze the individuality, respect,
equal opportunities and honor the different cultures. Health and social care practices helps in to
support the friends and family. It also gives preference to wishes and respect the dignity of the
person. (Bowling, 2014).
Another principle of support in health and social care practices is protection from harm
and assessing risk to self and others. It is very important to assure the quality of services and care
in health and social. In social and health care there are types of harm like verbal abuse, physical
abuse etc. Having a social communication system helps in social care practices (The principles of
care. 2018). Principles helps health and social practices by supporting beliefs, morale and
identities.
Interaction and communication with people is the main aspects to support health and
social care settings. By the help of guiding individuals in social practices improves the mental
thinking of the clients who are involved in some physical and social activities. Protection in
health settings protect the users and society from harm. It also helps in to protect food hygiene
and assist in to improve the quality of the food (Glasby, 2017). People should make a positive
contribution by engaging in social and health care settings and improves their surrounding
environment.

1.2 Procedure for protecting clients, patients, and colleagues from harm
The better health and care system help social groups and protect health of their patients.
Medical staff helps in to provide the information about their surroundings. The providers in
health and social care takes actions and treat them according to their status. Clients, patients and
colleagues need a framework from protection against any harm. It is the responsibility of
providers to protect their colleagues, patients and helps to deal with harmful situations. Health
and social care providers should also enhance skills and performance to protect their patients and
clients (Coyte and McKeever, 2016). Protecting from harm is also the important aspect for social
care providers. The social care providers should respect the contributions of their clients and
patients. The person-centered procedure guides the East and west care home.
Implementation of regulation codes assure their clients and patients to varying their social
and cultural backgrounds. East and West care home is based on humanistic theory. This theory
shows the needs of each individual clients and patients. This humanistic theory helps patients
and clients to interact with their social care providers and as well as their social working
environments. This theory is also responsible for the person centered approach. Protecting clients
and colleagues is an important role in the health care system. Social care education helps in
educating the harmful effects in the environment which can impact health and social services of
the health care. Implementation of healthy working structure and sharing of knowledge helps in
to defend their clients, patients from harm.
1.3 Benefits of following a person-centred approach with users of health and social care services
The person centered approach in East and West care home helps clients and colleagues to
enhance their skills and it also helps in to make better working condition. A better health and
social care helps clients to focus on their future goals and objectives. Person centered approach
helps in to modify the lifestyle, mental needs and the environment of their clients. East and West
care home delivers better care which helps individual in enhancing their health. Professionals at
East and West care home treat people as an individual rather than as a patient (Blank, Burau and
Kuhlmann, 2017). It helps in creating pleasant situation and allowing their clients to remain
independent. It also promotes physical and emotional comfort for their clients and colleagues. In
East and West care home, it helps in to modifying the areas of improvement in their clients and
patients. Person centered support individuals to achieve their goals. Better care helps in better
health and making their own decisions.

helps in to raise the individual reputation and their behavior. Social and health care helps in
focusing on their patient experiences. It improves individual experiences of services and care.
East and West care helps their clients to play an active part in their own care and managing their
health and mental stability in daily existence. It improves the clinical outcomes of individual
which directly improves self-management support of their clients.
1.4 Ethical dilemmas and conflict that may arise when providing care, support and protection to
users of health and social care services
Health and social services helps in to reducing the conflict between the social issues and
obligation. Many ethical conflict and dilemmas arise when providing social and home care.
Dilemmas involve in social work and services relationship. Conflict occurs when clients’ makes
illegal demands to a third party. Dilemmas can affect the patients and individual clients within
the social and health care services.
There are many types of dilemmas and conflict like dishonesty, fraud, confidentiality etc.
Ethical conflicts arise when decision making is in inappropriate manner. Without ethics in the
health and social services, conflicts occur. Global business depends on the ethical principles in
workplace to reduce fraud, dishonesty towards their clients (Stuart, 2014). Ethical dilemmas
occur when specific situations prioritize one principle over another personal belief and it comes
into conflict.
Health and social care system had fundamental changes with time. Ethics have
increasingly required component for protection and support of the health and social care. East
and West care must provide better services and resources to decrease the conflicts and moral
distress among their clients and patients.

4.1 Own role, responsibilities, accountabilities and duties in the context of working with those
within and outside the health and social care workplace
My role in health and social care practices helps in to operate smoothly and provide
better environment to my clients. I must plan for the efficient structure for colleagues and clients.
I suggest social and health care home should have up to date knowledge of health and safety for
their clients. Creating a quality and better working environment for the individual clients.
Responsibilities which I will follow is to communicate with the members of medical and health
care staff and supervising social and home care facilities. Duties which I will follow is to work
with other social and medical professionals to modify the quality of services for our clients and
patients. I suggest that management of the finances services for better growth and manage costs
and billing of the patients and clients.
My accountability is to keep the strategies to deal with situations and swing plans into
action whenever it is necessary (Ginter, Duncan and Swayne, 2018). I must learn skills for my
duties and healthcare services. I assure my clients and patients with better services in the
structure and my working and medical staff must up to date with current health care information
systems.
4.2 Own contribution to the development and implementation of health and social care
organisational policy
I will contribute in healthcare policy by improve relationship between the health and
social care structure. At my social and health place, I will design the policies, codes of practice
which provide support to our clients and patients. My healthcare and medical staff monitoring
their clients and review our medical practices (McCormack, 2017). I must modify strategies
which helps in to analysis threats and increase the effectiveness of social and healthcare home. I
will set objectives for healthcare and provide resources. Effective care of clients and patients
involves the whole medical and healthcare team activities.
I will evaluate and audit result of healthcare with the help of client’s feedback services.
Effective feedback services maintain the standard of healthcare and social home and it helps in to
form loyal customer base. I must observe the cases of client’s gives accurate information. I
include a medical and healthcare teams with advance communication skills. (Blumenthal and

Hsiao, 2015). I will design new structure which can provide excellent opportunities for the
medical and healthcare staff and helps in to improve their abilities. I must design safety policies
for clients and properly monitored for the best customer feedback. In my healthcare home, a
committee will be appointed for monitoring health and safety procedures.
4.2 Recommendations to develop own contribution
I recommend better services and healthcare practices for the clients. It plays an essential
role in the modern world. I will contribute to maintain relationship with the clients, colleagues
and healthcare staff. Developing and maintaining knowledge of medical and healthcare teams
for the effective decisions between social and home care. I will suggest flexible changes in
healthcare due to new policy which helps in to coordination between the healthcare staff and
clients and patients. I will recommend policies and systems to ensure the confidentiality. I will
give best practice guidance to our administration and improve the healthcare information about
the clients. I will discuss the barriers to modify healthcare and social home for better services for
the clients (Wahlbeck, 2015). These recommendations provide practical knowledge and
encourage the healthcare professionals which helps in to understand. It also helps in reducing the
barriers with the help of new suggestions and guidance.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the above report that interaction and communication with the
people is main aspect to support health and social care settings. It is analysed from the report that
it is responsibility of providers to protect their colleagues, patients and help to deal with harmful
situations. In addition to this, person-centred approach helps to improve the individual
experiences of services and care. Ethical conflicts arise when decision making is occurred in an
inappropriate manner. Finally, effective care of the clients and patients involves whole medical
and healthcare team activities.
