INTRODUCTION
Academic skills are those skills which help individual to learn, develop their personality
and many others. Examples of academic skills are communication skills, technical skills and
many others. English for academic purpose is basically defined the ways by which an individual
can develop their English speaking and writing habits (Ribner and et. al, 2017). Every
organisation face few issues which required to get solutions as soon as possible for
organisational benefit. This following report covers problem solving technique on the given case
scenario.
Main Body
PPT overview
It is determined that there are different factors which can be consider in decision making
process with the help of 6 Thinking Hats Technique. There is a meeting for making a particular
decision that whether the company will renovate the hotel and reconstruct it again in a particular
budget which is £140 million. No proper decision is made at the end of this meeting.
Problem solving strategies on the given case scenario
Problems are arise in every organisation but it is essential for them to understand their
issues as soon as possible and make a corrective decision for their organisational benefit. In
context of case scenario, Luxury Ltd. Hotel is going to renovate or reconstruct in a specific
budget of £140 million. This issue of further decided in Four Step Process for problem solving
which is taken to understand and make a effective solution for the given problem. The steps in
this procedure is given below-
Understand the problem- This is the first step of this problem solving technique where
companies are required to understand the issue perfectly (Brandlistuen and et. al., 2021). In
context of Luxury Ltd. Hotel, they are facing issue that whether they have to opt renovate option
or reconstruction of whole building of 6 story offices within £140 million of budget.
Diverse a plan- Another important step of this technique is making a effective plan how
to solve the issue perfectly. In context of Luxury Ltd. Hotel, they can analyse a plan after voting
for two options which was kept in their meeting. It is essential for them to conduct voting within
a fair manner. After voting it is concluded that reconstruction of whole building is much

beneficial for the hotel in context of given budget. This decision is made after analysing all the
factors like economies of scale, job creating, profit earning ratio and many others.
Carry out the solution- Another important stage is to implement the decision which is
made within a meeting after voting system (Osman and et. al., 2018). Here, they reconstruct the
property by given budget because they thought that they can easily reconstruct the whole
building within the budget which is given to them. Hence, they implement their plan and start
meeting with different kind of suppliers and contractors to start their construction as per their
decision which they opt in planning.
Look back- This is the stage where companies check and interpret whether their plan is
effectively working for their benefit or not. In context of Luxury Ltd. Hotel, their decision for
reconstruction of whole building is interpreted much better than renovation because £140 million
is a huge amount for renovation but it is appropriate for constructing the property again. Hence,
here, board of directors can analyse that their decision is proven correct by constructing the
building with modern and advanced structure which will help them to attract more customers for
the hotel (Muzamil, Wibowo and Purwanto, 2019).
CONCLUSION
From the above information it is concluded that every organisation has to face few issues
and problems. It is essential for them to understand the problem effectively and make a
corrective action to mitigate it as soon as possible. There are Four Stages Technique of solving
the problem which is faced by any organisation. Understand the problem is the first stage which
consist of understanding the root of the issue. Another step is Diverse a plan where they are
required to make a effective plan for the solution of the specific issue. Implementing plan is third
stage where they are required to convert their plan into action. In the end Look back is the last
stage of this model where companies are required to check whether their decision is made in a
correct way or not for providing them benefit.
