Common problem in group
The low engagement problem is the most common issue in team working. This is
continuously challenges issues in the organization everywhere. This problem is complicated
because peoples are not communicated with each and also not sharing their own view points
towards the organization. Low engagement problem affecting the companies business operations
and their functions. There are different number of factors that influence the low engagement at
their workplace such as including the serious illness at home (Bell and Outland et.al., 2018).
Low employee engagement affecting the relationship between employee and employer or in
between managers and leaders in the organization.
Common cause in group
Low engagement is common issue in each and every organization because employees are
communicated with the people. There are the most common cause of low engagement:
Wrong people in group- In group and team work, there are many people working together but
some people negative impact towards their culture and society which impact on the organization
and their business process. Other staff member influence with wrong people and cannot
competing their task in proper manner. This is major cause of low engagement in the company.
Leadership style is not resonating- Leadership style is necessary for organization to mange
their business process effectively and efficiently (Dietz and Salas et.al., 2017). Sometimes,
leaders cannot support to the team member and cannot engage with their work. This is also major
impact on the team and group. Leader is not engaged with their teammate and not providing the
proper guidelines regarding their goals and objectives.
Can not create emotional space- This is the most common cause in the low engagement
because leader is created bonding with their group and people which is affecting the relationship
between the other team members (Salas, Reyes and McDaniel, 2018). It is important for leader to
provide emotional space to their members towards their goals and they also creating bonding
between them.
Communication gap- Communication gap is common factor because team members can not
communicate with each other. They cannot shared their opinion towards the organization that's
why affecting the relationship between employees.

Effects on common group
There are major problems faced due to low engagement and this issue effecting the common
group and team.
Employee input will disappear- Employee are played important role in the organization.
Employee are combined to create team or group that's why, there input matters (Tucker, 2017).
Because team will generate new ideas, process and lead but low engagement affect the employee
capability and ability. In this way, input will disappear.
Disengagement costs a fortune- As a leader in the organization, it is required for resolving the
issue of employee team or group because disengagement will extend the loss (Lacerenza and
Salas et.al., 2018). For example- Deloitte is a leading organization in marketplace but this agency
face loss approximately $65 billion year due to the low engagement with group and team.
Unproductive workforce- Unproductive work is affecting because of low engagement with the
employee and team members. They hard to suffer unproductive and there is no effective team or
group engagement strategy.
