AI Summary
This report assesses the interface usability of a mobile product design created for a local farm shop. The design focuses on enabling the farm to effectively advertise its products and services, including food, gifts, wine, catering, and restaurant bookings, to a wider customer base. The chosen Android platform and free app distribution aim to maximize downloads and user engagement. The product design prioritizes clear, innovative, and customer-friendly information, with features for customer feedback and automatic updates. The strategy emphasizes product differentiation, leveraging technology for efficient communication and management to minimize waste and save time. The report concludes that product design is the most effective approach for connecting with customers, enhancing management, and achieving higher profits through improved customer interaction and sustainable web solutions. This design is particularly useful due to its positive impact on interface usability, fostering user engagement, ease of use, and higher revenue generation.

INTERFACE USABILITY OF PRODUCT DESIGN
The most effective mobile design needed by the local farm shop is the product design.
The product design will enable the farm to advertise the products they offer to their customers. I
first chose a platform that I thought would work best for the application. Since the farm is aiming
at making profits besides providing services to customers, the android system could work best
since it is dominating the smartphone race (Sonderegger & Sauer, 2010). For the farm to achieve
a wide range of customers, I focused on getting many downloads by offering a free app. The
product design needed to be based on a good idea to reflect the business and its central values.
Every required information by the customer is provided in the app. Thus I created a system that
will automatically update all the information even before the users realizes its needs
(Shneiderman, 2010).
For customers to keep revisiting the app and use it regularly, the first step is to download
the application in their mobiles that they can access the services while offline. By downloading
the app, customers tend to use it more regularly. The product design is set such that customers
can comment on the services provided. Maintaining communication with customers is necessary
for a business. Customers provide constructive critics and suggestions which enables improving
its usability (Rogers, Sharp & Preece, 2011). For the product design, I ensured the information
about the products is simple but innovative and also customer friendly to avoid confusions. By
creating this product app, it will help to find a market niche and connect with customers. In the
long run, it gets more comfortable for the customers to access the goods and services (Salim,
2010, August).

How product design meets customers requirement
The product design installed mainly focuses on the products such as food, gifts, and
wine, services such as catering in their small restaurant as well as booking of their restaurant for
parties like birthday and weddings. To meet all the needs f the customers, the app is designed to
serve customers that will need either or all of the services. For the products, the farm shop has
assured delivery to their customers. The farm shop has employ staffs to offer delivery services at
customers’ desired time. Since the farm also provides catering services to their customers, the
app has specifications and guidelines required by the customers. Such guidelines are the location
of the restaurant, opening and closing hours, foods and beverages they provide as well as the
prices of their products. With the guidelines, the customer already knows what to expect as well
as budget their expenses (Bhuiyan & Picking, 2011).
The boking of their restaurant to those customers with meeting or parties is also enhanced
in the product design. There are specifications on when the restaurant is available for booking,
charges, and assurance of security in the restaurant. The precise guidelines on the products and
services provided by the farm shop are aimed at reducing confusion among the customers as well
as promoting quality services (Page, 2011).
Factors affected the product design
Strategy: the farm shop provided a variety of products and services thus the strategy of
product differentiation affected the design. Providing different products to customers had a
positive effect on the farm. Different customers have different choices thus providing different

products and services will attract more customers which is different from one line of production
(Jin & Ji, 2010).
Technology: use of the mobile app is more efficient in informing the customers of
changes and updates to the farm. It is also less expensive to the firm in communicating to
customers. Operating online attracts a wide range of customers in the region since most people
are on their mobiles for some long hours.
Management: has influenced the farm shop in reduction on waste and also saves time.
When customers order their products, the shop knows the amount produced. Excess production
is minimized hence wastes are avoided (Lin, Lin & Roan, 2011).
Why product design?
In my opinion, product design was the most effective design to the problem in the farm
shop. This is because the connection between the customers and the shop are the products
provided. Concentrating on the design product and creating the app to give guideline concerning
all the products and services is the shop enhances a wide range of customers, and in the long run,
high profits will be achieved (Holz, Höhne, Staiger-Sälzer, Tangermann & Kübler, 2013).
The product design will ease on management and expenses required in marketing the
products compared to other forms like on media. With the comments from the customers, the
shop will have the ability to work on their critics and offer improved services and products.
Design products done online will save time. All the details the customers need are available, and
this will ease on explaining to all customers on what they deal with (Ali, Alrasheedi, Ouda &
Capretz, 2015). I think the design product is useful since it has tested positive on interface
usability such that;
