Confidentiality and consent are important regarding the maintenance of privacy of patient as it
provide secure environment for patient at the place where they receive medical care and also
provide complete and accurate information (Sturt and et. al., 2018). Confidentiality is important
as it create a trust for the environment by respecting the patient and their privacy and also
motivate patient to seek suitable care and also honest during the course of Health Care as it leads
to increase the willingness to seek care for patient. Therefore, it includes the overview of legal
instruments which are related with the rights of patient and also show the confidentiality and
privacy regarding the private life of patient. Confidentiality is important for developing and
maintaining the healthy clinical relationship.
Issues around confidentiality and consent
Informed consent is concerned with legal and ethical requirements for the research that
undertake human participants. There are various issues regarding the confidentiality and consent
that include false expectations in order to Hinder the communication among the patient and care
taker. Most of the patients also assume that the conventional treatment is the best way because
they are afraid of unknown side effects of the new treatment (Ndlebe, 2019). Besides from this it
is also difficult to evaluate the viewpoint of patient about trial as there is no developed method to
measure the understanding level which a patient has regarding the given information. Therefore,
misunderstanding can occur due to the inadequate language translations because many people
sign the consent form without getting aware the result of withdrawal of the subject at the later
time.
Professional boundaries
Professional boundaries provide the suitable framework towards the healthy relationship among
the health care patients and providers. They also have emotional and physical limits in order to
protect the vulnerability of patient and also protect the staff from becoming over involved.
Healthy professional boundaries keep the care provider and patient relationship in a safe manner
where they focus on the growth and development of patient (Patton and Simpson, 2016). The

include various warning signs of unhealthy boundaries like keep secrets with patients receive gift

and personal life with patients and many more (Schreurs, Huveneers and Dolmans, 2016). If a
Healthcare worker leads to Breach their professional boundaries, then they can face serious legal
issues and reportable offences as these ethical guidelines are important to maintain the
professionalism at the workplace.
Scope of practice responsibilities
Scope of practice describe the services which are qualified for the Healthcare professional in
order to competently perform their job role by keeping the terms of the professional licence. The
scope of practice depicts the action process and procedure of the Healthcare professional in order
to permit and keep the professional terms with their patients (Jones, Woods and Guillaume,
2016). The scope of practice is limited to the suitable laws which are formatted towards a
particular education and experience because each jurisdiction has their own licensing body that
represent the requirements for training and define the scope of practice. For example, in various
areas and States a paramedic is allowed to perform percutaneous cricothyrotomy as in some
States and areas does not allow this intervention because it is not within the scope of practice of
the paramedic to perform.
Breach of codes and guidelines

because it is important to enhance the human Healthcare. For this, patients are vulnerable
because trust their Health Care providers and contact them for the requirement by presenting

are crossed by Healthcare professional then it leads to impact relationship of Healthcare
individual and patient as it became the untrustworthy and possibly unethical. Violation of

guidelines and breach of code needs to discourage patient from taking help in the future purpose.
Healthcare professional maintain a respectful attitude with all their patience in equal manner and
also does not share personal and financial information with their patients.
