1. Job title
The job title is business analyst. After my degree in field of business I would like to work as a
business analyst. I have vast knowledge regarding to business management and therefore I
believe I can apply my skills and knowledge in field of business analyst. Just to mention some
view aspects comprising the job title;
Generally, business analyst is a person who usually organizes and analyses the entire business
and documents all systems by integrating applied technology with the business models (Adamo
et al, 2018 p.78). The system analysis involves the bridge between the problems facing the
business and the technologies needed to initiate solutions for the identified problems. The
problem can either be a model, a process or defective methods. On the issue of technology, the
solution can be achieved through use of technological tools such as software’s, architectural
skills and other technological tools. Therefore business analyst in organization is needed to
analyze and transforms the business challenges so as to conform to the technology(Milani,
2019,P.143).
2. Capabilities
The following are some of the specific capabilities that I believe I have to apply for the position
of business analysts;
Communication skills. Basically, business analyst usually spends a lot of time communicating
with clients, the management board, the users in the organization and developers (Cooke, 2018
p.67). For now I have the communication skills and that’s why I have been facilitating the
meetings in the school.

The problem solving capability skills. Developing a solution for indentified problem in
organization is the key thing. As a business analyst I normally work to build a clear
understanding on the problems and outlining the parameters to adhere when formulating a
project for the solutions in the organizations.
Thirdly, I have the analytical capabilities. Basically, as business analyst one ought to posses the
analytical skills which help in problem identification (Brauer and Wiersema, 2018,P.218).Most
these skills are good when implementing and designing the processing for gap analysis and
forecasting in business.
3. Weaknesses emerging from capabilities
The weakness arising from the capabilities include;
Lack of negotiation skills which are linked to the communication capabilities. Sometimes I lack
the courage to maintain the mutual relationships with the clients.
Lack of critical thinking skills which are linked with the analytical capabilities. Sometimes I lack
the critical thinking skills especially when handling the review of data and carrying out surveys
to measure the workflow (Milani, 2019,P.144).
Also, there are weaknesses in my personal attributes. Not all the time I can handle different jobs
at same period .The adaptability and ability to work with fast paced environment with cross-
sectional teams is low.
4. Strategies to address weaknesses
Working on critical thinking capabilities (Milani, 2019 p.100). This means familiarizing on how
to handle multiple choices before directing the teams in organization towards specific direction.

This strategy I believe will introduce me to effective methods of data analysis and documentation
processes.
Familiarizing to computer skills and enrolling to computer classes for certificate in business
analyst. This strategy includes appreciating the use of computer software’s and tools to handle
the projects. In general one needs to stay abreast to a new development in field of information
and technology.
5. Peer review task
This section reveals the weaknesses of report and what peers should do to minimize problems
of report.

programming techniques for data analysis.
6. Response to peer review
The section discusses how to improve professional capabilities gap analysis using the feedback
from peer review. Also, I have indicated how issues detected in the report have changed. In
order to improve the professional capabilities the following procedures can be used;
Planning on how to perform gap analysis for each individual .This will involve comparing and
identifying the job requirements and the current employee actual skill level. Through this
procedure the professional capabilities are expected to change.

The other method of improving the professional capabilities gap analysis is determining the
important skills attributed to each individual. In identifying the skills one will work in answering
two questions such as what skills do we value in the organization and what skills are needed now
and in future? Most of the times there is need to aggregate skills depending on the strategies used
and explained in the report (Gauthier & Wooldridge, 2018 p.34).
Also, the response coming from the peer seems to be categorical on importance of measuring the
current skills possessed by the workers. The feedback from the sources used gives optimum
performance reviews which helps in improving the professional capabilities gap analysis. Also,
the skills can be measured by using the spreadsheets which are specific to certain position in the
organization.
The issues identified in the report have changed through planning. Coming up with apt
procedures to curb the weaknesses identified will raise the overall performance Brauer, M. and
(Wiersema, 2018 p.12). In addition the performance also increases through training which aims
at imparting new skills. Therefore, from response its clear professional capability gap analysis
has revealed the weaknesses in the job position discussed.
