INTRODUCTION
The main motive of every businessman is to earn maximised profits and to achieve this
objective, it is important that company is expanding its operations or scale of business. In this
context, it is common that companies are entering into global market (Chang and Daly, 2019).
The main reason behind this shift is concentrated demand in domestic market. When a business
is moving into international market, management is confronted by various issues and these issues
can be resolved using several codes of conduct. Furthermore, there are various governing
authorities those formulate laws so as to solve these challenges with full efficiency. This report is
divided in two parts, first part relates with discussion of ethical issues confronted by businesses
in global business environment and second part is related with CPD plan which will construct the
knowledge for future course of action.
Part 1
Introduction of challenge faced by companies in global business environment
In global business environment, the major challenge arises is related to working
conditions in the work place. Working conditions is the situation that is pertaining in the
workplace and is related with paid work and employment relationships. This term covers a broad
range of situations, such as, working times, remuneration, physical conditions, mental
satisfaction that is created out of styles of working in the work place. These all issues are very
tough to manage in global business environment (Conroy and et.al., 2020). This is due to the fact
that in global business environment, every factor impacts operations in much intense manner.
For example, workforce diversity may not impact the working conditions in such an intense
manner in domestic market as compared to global business environment. This is due to the
reason that in global business environment, employees are coming from a much more diverse
background and is impacting the working conditions. In global business environment, this
challenge includes following dimensions:
Providing a safe work place: as the environment or surrounding is new for employees,
therefore, it is a time consuming process for employees to settle down in this new area.
Therefore, it becomes difficult for company to provide a safer place.
Fair compensation policy: In global business environment, formulating compensation
policy is also a big task, as, living cost is much different from that of domestic market

backgrounds in global business environment, therefore, it is very difficult for
management of the company to give equal importance to every employee or worker. If
equal importance is not given to each and every employee, than it will lead to conflicts
and disagreements at workplace. Therefore, management is finding it difficult to strike a
balance in this situation.
Identifying the code of conduct that will assist the process of resolving the above ethical issue
To solve ethical issues at workplace which have been explained in first part of this report,
there are various codes of conduct that needs to be followed:
Know the law: Employees are the biggest asset of the company and therefore, it is
essential that are managed properly. Government is taking care of this factor, therefore, it
is formulating various laws that will regulate the stay of employees in any organisation.
Therefore, it is the responsibility of employers that they have the complete knowledge of
these laws, so that, stay of employees is very easy and productive in the workplace.
Under the Texas Whistle blower Act, for example, public-sector employees may be
entitled to damages if an employer engages in retaliatory actions based on an employee
who, in good faith, files a complaint related to workplace ethics (Jackson, 2018). This
Act grants "[a] public employee who claims that his suspension, termination, or other
adverse personnel action was in retaliation for his good faith reporting of violations of the
law the right to sue for damages and other relief."
Set workplace expectations: There is a need of a healthy and satisfying work culture in
the office. This code of conduct will ensure low conflicts and high productivity at the
work place. Therefore, to create this kind of work place, employers should revise their
employee handbook that mentions about the policies and regulatory framework of the
project.
