INTRODUCTION
It is very important to develop the individual for its career professionally. The professional
career development is a kind of course which is designed to give the early start on a process of the
career planning and the development. This process involves the thoughtful self assessment, the career
exploration, the planning and the follow through with the preliminary strategies of the employment.
Career development refers to the management of the self career in the inter organisational or intra
organisational scenario (Wolniak, 2017). This process involves training on the new skills, moving up to
the higher responsibilities of the job, making he change in career within the same company, shifting to
other organisation or starting up a new business of the own. There are many kinds of career
development which includes career awareness, goal setting, career management, self assessment and
skill development. This report shall deal with the reflection the role play of HR manager and a personal
development plan.
MAIN BODY
For a career development, the process begins with a company where an individual is hired.
Every organisation possess with the skilled staff which is recruited and selected by the most important
functionary of the firm. It is the Human resource department (Sarsby, 2016). The HR manager is
entrusted with most important role to manage the asset of the company which is Human resource. It is
important that the human resource manager must possess with the requisite skills and knowledge which
make their work effective.
As an individual, my career planning goes to the direction of role play of the human resource
manager. As a human resource manager there are some skills and knowledge which must be in me in
order to make my working efficient. The skills and knowledge required by HR manager are discussed
below-
Skills
These include the ability to do something in an effective manner. The HR manager must possess
the following skills-
• Communication skills- The HR manager must have the ability to express itself clearly in both
verbal and non verbal form. As a HR manager, a lot of talking is involved as the team as the HR
as to communicate the rules, regulations, policies to the employees so that they can work with
the ethics and culture of the company. Moreover, it has communicate the goals of the company
in order to make them for it. The HR manager has to deal with the issues and conflicts of the

company. Moreover, it has to decide on the conflict or issue of the employees so there is a need
of the efficient and sound decision maker in the HR so that it can support the critical
organisational functions also.
• Problem solving skill- This skill requires the HR manager to possess with the skills of
identifying the critical problem and review the related information in order to develop the
option so that solution can be implemented (Beygi and Gholipour, 2016).

It is the information, facts and skills acquired through the education or the experience. The HR
manager must possess the knowledge of the following-
• Administration and management- The HR manager must have the knowledge of the business
and the administration so that it can apply those principles in the strategic planning or resource
allocation and human resource so that the management of the company can be handled well.
The HR manager must have the knowledge of leadership so that it can lead the team and
coordinate with them effectively in order to bring out the positive outcome (Tuan, 2019).
• Personnel and human resource- The HR manager must possess the knowledge of recruitment
process, training, development, benefit, reward, compensation and many other so that it can
manage the human resource of the company effectively. The knowledge of these principles is
must in order to make their functions efficient and productive.
• Information and technology- As the new digital era is flourishing, every work has now
reduced the manpower and made the work computerized. So the HR manager must have the
knowledge of IT so that it can manage its data and information through the computer software
and hardware in order to maintain privacy and secrecy (Stewart, 2016).
As I have to get prepared for the employment of the role play of HR manager, I must acquire
the following skills and knowledge so that I can get ready to obey my obligations and responsibilities
efficiently. I have good communication skills which helps me in my overall personal and professional
development. I have fluency in verbal communication but somewhere I lack in the non verbal
communication which involves studying the body language or the gesture of the people. To get myself
