Reflective Essay
Self-assessment is necessary for the identification and development of skills in a person.
Besides, self-awareness can be used to know about skills and weaknesses. Besides, many
skills can be developed using self-awareness. Moreover, leadership is necessary for
developing new skills (Bassot, 2015). I learned that career development is necessary to
manage various things in life. I want to become a security expert that is necessary for
managing cybersecurity of an organization. I will provide details of the course, which can
provide persons and professional growth in my career.
I will describe the importance of cybersecurity and its impact on the career of a person after
graduation. Besides, reflective practices are necessary for managing different skills in a
person. It is necessary to know about the importance of a certification course in professional
career development. I learned that Information systems have used for managing various
business functions of an organization. Thus, they have required cybersecurity experts for
handling various incidents and security of the IT-assets. Based on surveys, cybersecurity
experts have required by most of the firms (Bolton, 2010).
I learned that cybersecurity certification is a basic need for a professional in the company.
this course can provide opportunities in Multinational companies as well as small and
medium-sized enterprises. Moreover, the ISO 27001 framework has implemented in various
firms for auditing and security of assets. Besides, the ISO 31000 framework has used for risk
assessment (Fook, 2010).
I will improve my knowledge of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), which
is the basic need of a firm. Moreover, security management is necessary to secure various
ICT services, which are the base of a firm for managing its business functions. Therefore, it is
a basic need for a leader or manager to learn about the security systems especially
cybersecurity.
Besides, cybersecurity is necessary for managing various processes in a firm, which are
helping in the management of IT assets. Thus, I can build my career in this field using such
types of courses. I will improve my skills using this course as well. It will improve my
knowledge in the field of various processes. Moreover, there are many changes in the
industries, which can be used to build a career. Reflective practices have used for manging
various skills (Hargreaves & Page, 2013).

I will perform my best to achieve a good knowledge of cybersecurity and its implementation.
There are different phases of cybersecurity, which has used for different things, such as
network administrative skills, server administrative skills, and more. There are many other
courses in the market to develop knowledge about cybersecurity. Moreover, technical
innovations have used in businesses for more growth and success. Thus, it is necessary to
improve knowledge about the security systems as well (Johns, 2017).
I learned that the management of ICT services is necessary for a manager. Thus, I want to be
a security expert in a well-known firm. It will suitable for my career growth as well. Most of
the processes can be used for managing all the processes. However, there are many changes
in the IT industry, which have required experts to manage the security of assets (Mayfield &
Mayfield, 2017).
Additionally, I want to enhance my skills using reflective practices especially reflective
journal and blog writing. It will help me in my career growth as well. In addition, security
management is the first need of a firm because of data breaches and cyber-attacks. The
number of cybercrimes has increased in most of the industries. However, many firms have
hired security experts for managing their cybersecurity to secure their assets, such as data,
information, network, and more (Moon, 2015).
I learned that most of the processes have used for managing the security of the systems.
Moreover, most of the people have joined such type of IT-certification courses to develop
their career. I will use self-assessment and self-awareness to manage all the activities during
the course. It can be used for the improvement of various other skills as well (Zeichner &
Liu, 2010).
I learned that many courses can be added to the personal profile, which is beneficial for
professional development. Besides, many difficulties will be faced in this course, which is
better for learning as well. Moreover, I will improve my learning skills for managing all the
things in a better way. It can be managed using reflective practices especially reflective
journal and reflective life cycles, such as Gibb’s and Kolb’s reflective models. It will be
beneficial for various processes, as design thinking processes can be used for the
improvement of creativity (Moon, 2015). Besides, I learned that cybercult is a basic need for
a firm, as I know about the new things. Moreover, it is necessary to manage all the processes,
which are mandatory in an origination. Security experts have demanded in the industry
because of international pressure and various losses after data breaches (Fook, 2010).

I learned about the other courses, which can be added to my professional development.
Besides, there are many direct opportunities in the information technology field, such as
security specialists, networking administration, and software development (Hargreaves &
Page, 2013). I learned that a project manager can be used this skill for improving various
things. E-business development consultant post can be my target. This is an area, which is
full of challenges, which I liked most. I am willing to take challenges, which is my hobby as
well.
In conclusion, an IT security expert is a good post for personal and professional development.
In addition, most of the people make their career in this field. Career development is based on
various skills, such as technical and non-technical skills. I will use reflective practices to
learn more during this course. Finally, this course will improve my knowledge and skills in
the future.
