My Professional Philosophy on Early Childhood Education
I believe that each child is exceptional and has a right to having an atmosphere that is
stimulating, caring as well as secure which is suitable for physical, emotional, social and
intellectual development. Thus it is my wish that my students get all their capabilities in these
areas by providing for them a safe environment, which calls for sharing of ideas. To have
such an environment, three elements are required: the teacher being the guide, letting the
natural interest of the child to direct his or her learning and encouraging respect for people all
and all things.
When the teacher undertakes the responsibility of being a guide by giving direction to get
information, instead of giving the information required directly, he/she makes it possible for
the student to search for knowledge because they get to know how to get solutions to their
problems or questions. For students to acquire adequate knowledge, they require a chance to
find out for themselves and exercise their skills independently. Children get a chance to have
their discovery and construction of knowledge if allowed to carry out activities and also being
given enough time and space to use the resources that highlight the question under study.
The other significant aspect besides self-discovery is having the chance of learning relevant
and essential things to somebody’s life and wellbeing. Designing a curriculum by the
interests of the students promotes intrinsic motivation and inspires the desire to learn. This
can be achieved by developing the curriculum by research on the kind of lessons and
activities that are relevant to the child’s interest. Such a move will ensure that the
expectations of the children are met, and much more productive activities are incorporated
than when I could have imagined them myself. Such a curriculum will be owned by the
children and will be motivated to learn and master the skills necessary to grow and attain the
goals of the teachers.

The Assistance of the children to develop love and respect for themselves, for colleagues, and
their surroundings take place through an open platform which allows a rational approach to
discipline. Additionally, the desires of each child are considered, and the environment
evolves where children are not restricted to express themselves. The best way to foster such
dialogue is in the class meetings. I am of the conviction that children will exercise greater
respect for their teachers, friends, and the class lessons when they are in an environment in
which they feel safe and are confident of the teachers’ expectations of them.
In my case, teaching offers an opening for constant learning and development. As a teacher, it
is my hope to impart a desire for learning in my students, as I share my passion for learning
with them. I am convinced that there is a need for compassionate, resilient, and committed
people who are interested in working with children. The competitive set-up in our society
demands that students should not only acquire solid education but also be taught by someone
who is concerned with their individual needs. I am of such caliber and will continuously
endeavor to the best teacher.
