AI Summary
This essay delves into the realm of cloud computing, exploring its definition as a technological means of storing data and information via the internet. It outlines the three primary service models: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS), and discusses their functions and benefits. The essay further examines cloud storage, its advantages, and its role in data management and retention. A key focus is the differentiation between privacy and security in the context of cloud environments, emphasizing the need for businesses to protect data from unauthorized access and manipulation. It highlights the importance of user agreements, password security, and encryption as methods to ensure cloud privacy and security. The conclusion summarizes the benefits of cloud computing, the different types of clouds, and the crucial ways to secure data against unauthorized access. The essay references several academic sources, including books and journal articles, to support its arguments.

INTRODUCTION
With the advancements in technology , companies can adopt to different tools, methods
and business practices to function business operations in a proper manner. In order to use such
technologies, it is necessary for the individuals to have professionalised knowledge and skills to
perform effectively. This report will discuss the topic of cloud computing, cloud storage and the
different types of clouds. It also determines the comparison between the security and the privacy.
MAIN BODY
Cloud computing, cloud storage and different types of clouds
Cloud computing can be defined as a technological term that stores the data and
information with the help of internet. Three kind of services are provided by these such as
Infrastructure as a service, Software as a service along with Platform as a service. This service
was started in 1960 by Joseph Carl Robnett along with an aim of connecting people with their
personal informations along with providing access to them from anywhere. Its name is inspired
by a cloud which is used to define internet in diagrams and flowcharts. This service is provided
in two channels i.e. private or pubic. Private cloud can be considered as proprietary network
which provides information access service to a fixed number of individuals. Whereas, public
clouds are available for any individual on internet (Ali, Khan and Vasilakos, 2015).
Main goals of Cloud computing is to deliver scalable access to each individual who has
knowledge regarding IT and computing resources. Several services provided by it that includes
storage, servers, intelligence, databases etc. and depends on the basis of internet to offer
economies of scale and innovation. On demand availability of computer system resources are
also known as cloud computing. This services are mainly used by individuals to get accessing the
secured informations from anywhere through internet. These services can be used by any
organisation Whether organisation is small or big or performing operations in public or private.
It mainly works with interdependency of internet for attaining economies of scale and
development. Through using this technique organisations can secure their private informations
on a secured network and access it with the use of internet. Large number of companies use

cloud computing for securing the data like bond details, stakeholder, employee's information,
share capital, production details etc. so that it can be accessed without facing difficulty in future.
It also provides users a large number of functions such as back up, data retrieval, creating and
testing informations, e-mail and delivering software of demand. This was firstly used by
International business machine corporation (IBM) in which they have adopted utility, on demand
computing etc. several benefits are provided by it to the companies such as flexibility and
elasticity of data, cost saving, continuous planning etc. with the help of cloud-computing
company can also remove the challenges that can occurs while securing the valuable and
confidential information. These systems also provides benefits to company as they have no need
to making investment of installing large data base system for securing informations.
Cloud storage is a service model that is adopted or implemented by organisations for
managing or retaining the information effectively which are stored in their desktops or
computers. Users who wants to use this system they have to pay the amount as per their
consumption. In this kind of platform, data is stored in multiple storage servers and can be
accessed in future when it is required (Almorsy, Grundy and Müller, 2016). It also provides
several benefits to users such as easy access, store of information for a longer period of time,
disaster recovery etc. It also ensuring users that their personal and confidential informations can
not be leaked or misused.
There are several kind of cloud systems i.e. IAAS, PAAS, SAAS which are using by
organisations for securing their confidential informations for a longer period of time. First one is
IAAS which can be considered as lower level of cloud-computing system that enables the users
for accessing the data from outsource. This system host infrastructure elements that are
traditionally exist in premise data centre. It comprises of servers, networking hardware, storage
etc. Several kind of services are also provided by IAAS providers for managing cooperation with
provided components. In addition, This system also provides huge level of flexibility and
scalability so that current business operations can be functioned effectively. As the modern time
is fully advanced which can impact the server capacity but while using IAAS technique
organisations can make changes in their securing systems as per trends.
Platform as a service (PAAS) is an another kind of cloud-computing that is similar as IAAS but
its functioning is more advanced as compare to IAAS. Service provider of PAAS also offers
solution sock and computing platforms as service. It is mainly used by those organisations that

wants to develop deploy or getting access to secured information from certain applications. In it,
these applications are hosted by third party which is also known as PAAS provider. These
providers develop applications with cloud-computing systems and provide it to organisations so
that they can access informations without taking help of third party providers. In current
scenario, Google Application is the best example of these systems such as when the application
is getting old then this system automatically provide notification of update to the users. It is also
beneficial for organisations as through using it they have no need to hire persons of IT
department for checking updates of systems.
SAAS can be defined as those services which operates with fully functioned applications
and are works on the basis of demand of its customers. Its targetted customers are those
organisations which mainly uses ERP, time management, web conferencing etc. It also supports
the business organisations in managing their each activity in appropriate manner along with
removing concerns which are related with infrastructure (Chen, 2014).
Difference between privacy and security and the way in which private and secured cloud could
be achieved
In this digital era it is not necessary for IT professionals and technicals to worry about
cyber security it is the duty of the business enterprise to protect and prevent their data from
being manipulated from other individuals or companies. It is necessary to have privacy and
security of their data, discussed as follows-
Privacy is about safeguarding the user identity and security defers to protection of data
against the unauthorised access to the information. It is necessary for every organisations to
prevent access and modification of the data by other business entities and therefore prevents it
with a authorised software.
Although the security and the privacy terms are interrelated but both have different
concepts. As with the technological advancements, business entities have higher dependence on
that with this company is highly vulnerable to security threats, for this business organisation
should attain privacy against the user identity. Moreover it is possible to have security without
privacy but it is impossible to have privacy without security.
It is necessary for the business entities to keep their cloud secure and private and limits
the access to be used by others. It is also essential for the organisations to read user agreement
while implementing cloud and analyse the information in a proper manner. Apart from this in

order to protect and secure cloud companies should effectively set passwords for the same so as
prevent others to use the data and modify it. There is also another method which should be
adopted by the business enterprises as a way to provide privacy and security against cloud is to
encryption of cloud price which prevents the useful information to be used by others. Encryption
of the files under cloud conducts decryption of the file and cannot be used by others (Jula,
Sundararajan,and Othman, 2014).
CONCLUSION
From the above report it has been concluded that with the invention and introduction of
new technologies it has made the companies work easy and thus provided privacy and security
against the data. Cloud Computing is the recent technological trend which is used by the
enterprises in protecting and saving the information from the unauthorised access. It has also
been analysed that there are three different types of clouds which are essential for the companies
to adopt such as IAAS, PAAS and SAAS, these provides protection against the data and
moreover there are different ways of securing the data which should be adopted by the
organisations to prevent unauthorised access.
