Discussion
In order to overcome the challenges that I am faced with at Griffith University, I am
going to have to become more attentive in the class (Chen & Huang, 2017). As evident from the
personal SWOT analysis that I conducted, my attention span can be low in the classroom and I
tend to get distracted when the teacher is teaching. It is true that I have no difficulty in grasping
concepts, but by concentrating more on what is being taught, I can definitely retain the most
important points of the lessons imparted in the classroom. I have to make an effort to listen to the
teacher and concentrate on what is being taught even when I am not in the mood (Cottrell, 2015).
I will create a time plan for action and implement it so that I can get my tasks and
assignments done well ahead of time instead of leaving things until the last minute (Faris, 2018).
The habit of procrastination is quite a bad one and it is working against me at school. While I
have until date always managed to get my assignments submitted on time, for the most part, the
habit of leaving things for the last minute is not desirable, as it can be quite unnerving and it
affects my performance regarding the courses of my study. I will keep this time plan as realistic
as possible, so that it is possible to attain all the goals that I set as well as the activities that I set
out to do for myself.
I need to consciously prepare for a career upon graduation. My studies right now are
being funded by the government in the form of a scholarship or studentship but this scholarship
will come to an end once I graduate. As soon as a graduate I will have to take up a job in order to
support myself and this job needs to be one that is well suited for my skills and abilities. I will
apply for internships and opening positions for fresh graduates once I pass out of Griffith
College and I am going to rely heavily on the on campus placements that are carried out at

Griffith College in order to be able to land a job at a suitable organization (Whitehall et al.,
2018).
Communication has not been able a major problem for me until date. This applies for
both written as well as verbal communication. Yet there are many aspects of my communication
skills that I believe require improvement. I need to at least communicate with my teachers better
to understand what it is that they require of me as a student and how I can bring about an
improvement in my performance (Rose, 2018). For this purpose, I really need to reach out to my
teachers more, since they are usually available for guidance and assistance after class hours and
can give me the extra help that I need from them regarding academics, and for counseling in
general (Howard, 2019).
