INTRODUCTION
This study highlights the aspect of preparing and taking the right steps for choosing a career.
With that it also highlights the fact that why development is important and where it has the
scope for improvement (Karas, 2019).

TASK 1
Reflection
Recently I have completed my graduation from king's college London. I completed my
bachelors degree in the field of management. It took me 3 years to complete that course. I
learned a lot from college. That 3 years completely evolved me as a person. My thought process,
my opinion, the way I see things all has changed. I was a bright student but with that I always
participated in co curricular activities. From this course I learned the basics of management and
that kept me thinking that I want to pursue a career in this field. As the scope of management
was bright and someday if I work hard enough then maybe I am on the list of board of directors
of some billion dollar company. College taught me all about this course and how to excel in this
field (Carr, 2019). For that I needed to gain experience and I done plenty of internships in sales,
as a in store retail manager for FMCG products and on top of that I made clients for a tourism
company which was a start up. Several internships taught me several things such as how to
manage customers at the time of rush. With that I learned how to attract customer and influence
them. If they are not interested then how to make an attempt to convince them. This whole phase
developed my communication skills and how to respond to someone even when you are not
interested. That is why I consider this part as the most important aspect of my life. From college
I learned many things which helped me to improve my technical skills. At times we had to make
project with PPT which need to be presented in front of the whole class. I had stage fear so I
used to skip those but with time I tried and removed that fear. Also I learned to make PPT's and
how to make excel which will also help me in future. I participated in college fest where I
learned how to work with a team follow orders, assign them to others. This helped me to learn
the tactics and materials which are required in the event and skills to manage it. Talking about

the academics I faced difficulties in subjects which consists numerical approach but theoretical
subjects were the ones where I excelled. I had to prepare myself a lot in numerical subjects so
apart from college I took extra classes and I used to study in group so that I can learn their
methods and how other people used to score good in those subjects. I needed to improve this
aspect as it was necessary in the practical approach and it does not make a good impression to
others. Even though academics is not all I needed to achieve but I wanted to be good in every
field I chose. The most interested thing was to play sports I used to play football and cricket a
lot. It helped me to relief stress in the area of academic and while playing I participated at many
inter college events and won. My next step is to complete a post graduation in business and
administration with the diploma of international business. My aim is to secure a job and then I
want to be a CEO of an multi national company. That is why I want to have a degree of masters
and I am working on building my portfolio strong so that whenever I present my CV to an
organization at the time of interview, the interviewer must think I am more than eligible for this
job. If not that then I want to do my own business that is why for the second option I am doing
diploma in international business and through the internship I have learned and started to think
practically as it is necessary to think with evaluation but one must always consider the factors
which will stop him so that he can learn to prepare themselves from those. New things I learned
there was the behaviour pattern of people as I have never noticed them before (Lindeman,
Schimmoeller and Woods, 2018). But when I was doing internship I thought it was necessary as
it was getting difficult for me to judge the reaction of people and in sales I needed to understand
them and present a counter to convince them before they reject my proposal. No one can force
the customer into buying things but I always tried to make them understand and point them out
the benefits of things. If I pursue the dream of starting my own company then also these things
will help me as business demands to satisfy the needs and wants of the people and without
understanding the pattern of behavior of consumers no business can satisfy them and maintain
their operations successfully. On the other hand if I pursue the dream of becoming a CEO of an
multi national company then also it will be beneficial as at the beginning stage I need to suggest
ideas in the meetings and that will only be possible if I understood them in the right way. These
qualities which I have learned has helped me a lot to excel my portfolio. By learning all these
things and developing all these qualities I am pretty sure and confident that whichever path I
choose I will achieve success in it. (Wikander and Lyons, 2018.)

Elaborating on my strength and weakness and where development is needed
I was good in academics mostly in the theoretical part but I needed to develop the
numerical part. The problem was I was always confused with the formulas that where I need to
use it. But with time I evaluated it and developed it as it was necessary to learn it. It comes in a
more tough way in further studies. Apart from this I thought that in college and in internship I
learned the ability of communicating with everyone but the problem with me was I was not
patient enough. I used to snap at a customer or give up even before his reaction. So that thing,
waiting for something, giving it time being patient so that because of my short tempered nature I
don't make my relations or network worse in future (Boylan, Barblett and Knaus, 2018.). The
ability to learn being patient also helped to wait for the desired outcome so that I don't make the
situation worse from where I loose it all. Apart from this I need to work hard on my portfolio to
make it better and work hard so that I can get into a better college. No good college will take me
if I don't score good grades and no good company will hire me if I don't get a degree from a good
college. All of my career depends on my academics and I need to work hard so that I can achieve
the goals in life which I have expected. One more thing is that sometimes I tend to underestimate
the situation or the potential of the people. Its all because I am overconfident about every aspect.
If I don't improve this then I will not be able to achieve anything in life. If I underestimate
someone's qualities then the thing is that I won't be able to judge someone in a professional
manner which will give the advantage to my competitor. Apart from this I need to work on
improving my behavior in a professional manner. So that I can adjust according to the thought
process or mindset of different people. Then it will be easy for me to analyze different people.
Apart from this I also need to start and learn to be a team player. Till now I prefer alone so that I
cannot blame anyone for the mistakes but me in order to make less mistakes. Working in a team
may create problem but it is the most efficient way of completing a task as no one is good
enough to possess all the abilities. The most important thing for me is to make one decision that
which career to pursue as I am confused between the two options that is either to make a career
in management or start up my own business. I keep having second thoughts but I need to take a
final decision so that I can prepare myself for the right path (Mariam and et.al., 2018).

What will you do to improve the skill Time
Activity- This is one of the most advanced area with
rapid change and to cope up with the environment I
need to cope up with it. If I don't improve these skills
then I will feel left out or I may fee that I am running
behind the people. To increase my efficiency I need to
increase these type of skills as it helps to distribute the
work and make it easy. Today it is not just needed in
the field of science or engineering. It is required in
every field to some extent. These skills will only be
developed through practice and with time and practice
it will get evolved.
To improve the skills I took out various methods so
that I can achieve proficiency in these skills. I practiced
these skills such as using internet, searching for
something, making excel sheets or PPT at my own PC.
While doing that I used to watch the tutorials which are
posted on various websites. It was a easy approach.
Still I was not confident then I took classes so that I can
learn everything thoroughly with no doubts and have
the access to knowledge like others. So that I cannot
feel that I am left behind.
Outcome- After the completion of these skills I am
confident enough that I can complete the work in an
efficient manner (Hanson and et.al., 2020).
It took me 3 months to become perfect
in this approach and as I was in
college that time I could easily spare
the time.

Skills which needs improvement- Decision Making Skills
What will you do to improve the skill Time
Activity- I needed to improve it as I was not able to
make the choices which are best for my career. The
reason was because I was confused and always had
second thoughts about everything. Even the decisions I
made I used to overthink about it that whether or not the
choices I made were right or wrong. This let me loose
my focus off other things which spoil my work.
Resources- To improve and overcome this issue I
started to analyze the situations thoroughly so that I can
know what factors can create problem and what can be
beneficial for the company. I stopped taking decisions
impulsively. Now I used to think according to the time
frame that what results will it give in this much time
and which is it best suitable for short term or long term.
I learned that I need to make the decision after
considering it with time and have to be patient while
doing that.
Outcome- Improving these skills has been a big relief
because now I have stopped overthinking on the same
issue and begin to start thinking on other areas which
are important and come into use to me in the near
future.

CONCLUSION
From the above studies it has been concluded that taking steps and taking initiatives are
necessary for the growth of the career. Development is also necessary so that a person can
achieve the desired career or lifestyle for himself or herself.
