Workshop on Self-awareness
Self-awareness is necessary to identify own skills and develop new skills using various
technologies. Moreover, there are many processes in personal and professional life, which
can require many skills to manage all the works in a good manner. Reflection is a good way
to developing and identifying many new skills (Mayfield & Mayfield, 2017). There are some
activities, which are based on self-awareness. This workshop will consist of three activities,
which will be based on self-awareness.
Activity -1 The Johari Window
This is an interesting activity and can help in improving the self-awareness. Moreover, this is
the best activity for ourselves. The Johari window activity is simple and is an effective
activity for a workshop. It is a group activity, which acts as a reason for good
communication. Moreover, people have used many ways of communication, but Johari
Window is a good way to open communication. This activity was developed by psychologists
Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingham in 1955 (Stillman, 2019).

The activity timing varies from 60 – 90 minutes, as all the group members will share their
thoughts about others. Longer time is required for completing this activity as the numbers of
people that are involved in it are large. However, we can divide people into a small group of
six to ten persons. In addition to this use of reflective journal is a good for self-awareness
(Bassot, 2015).

Self-awareness is a basic need of a person to know about the various things. The main aim of
this activity is self-analysis about a person using open communication. It is a good activity
from various points of view. It has integrated many concepts of self-awareness. Below
images shown different skills of a person, which can be used for managing their professional
life (Fook, 2010).
All the group members will share their opinion about other group members, which is related
to their skills. It will be divided into four panes. All the panes are designed based on the four
factors, which are important for various points of view. All the panes have designed to know
about the skills in a person based on the opinion of themselves as well as others. There are
four parts, which are shown in the below image. Reflective activities will provide benefits in
long terms as well (Hargreaves & Page, 2013).

There are some potential barriers in this activity including lack of open communication. Open
communication is required in this activity. The entire group member must share their real
feedbacks about others and himself (Musa, 2019).
This activity will make a huge impact on the personalities of different person, as it will
provide skills as well as remove their weaknesses. Thus, they can improve many hidden skills
of a person. It will change the persona of a person. In addition, a person should be a reflective
practitioner to grab knowledge about various things (Johns, 2017).

Activity-2 Roleplay
It is a good activity in which a person will play a role to understand the persona of persona
that is at that position. It is an interesting activity, which is based on empathy and it will
provide new opportunities to understand the feeling of other professions and roles. Many
people can manage their fear of using this activity. Moreover, this activity can be used for
managing all the processes. Many people can use this activity for reducing their
understanding of fear. It will improve many other skills in a person. It is a good practice of
self-awareness. Moreover, participants can enjoy this activity because of the changing of
persona. Learning is a good thing, which can be developed using reflective practices
(Lawrence-Wilkes & Ashmore, 2014).
Every person should play a role based on a profession to understand the issues and
challenges. This activity will take two hours, as each member will show his or her
responsibility from act as well within 10 minutes. Thus, it is a basic need to know about our
skills.
This activity will describe the persona in a person as well as it will improve the basic skills.
Moreover, a person can be managed using various skills. Moreover, basic processes can be
managed using many other skills. There are many benefits to this activity in specific areas. In
addition, business communication will be better using open communication (MacLachlan,
2013).
This activity is based on empathy, which is a process to understand different person's point of
view. Moreover, a person can enjoy their personal skills. In this activity, every person
chooses a profession, which is different from their own profession. It will improve the
thinking power of a person to solve various business issues. Every person has 10 minutes to
explain their feeling towards a profession. This activity will provide help in the leadership as
well.
Sometimes, a person cannot feel the actual role because of many reasons including fear,
hesitation to communicate, and many more things. Thus, it is necessary to provide an open
communication channel for every person.
In some cases, it will fail. However, most of the person will enjoy this activity to play the role
of other professionals. In the case of many changes, a person can enjoy their own persona.
Most of people will adopt this concept.

Activity-3 Emotional intelligence
In this activity, different types of emotions will provide to various groups in a firm, which
will be a good activity for self-awareness. In addition, the culture of the workplace has
changed because of many issues. In addition, there are some changes in an organizational
structure as well. Thus, self-awareness is necessary for finding the hidden skills of a person.
Emotional intelligence is a new way to improve the basic skills of a person. It is a useful skill
to manage conflicts in the workplace and reduces issues and challenges. Emotional
intelligence is a good technique to manage businesses (Bariso, 2019).
This activity will take 2-3 hours in which all the groups will react to emotion, such as hope,
anger, happiness, and many others. It will develop new skills to manage business processes
and issues as well. It will take 15 minutes for each group. Moreover, people can be managed
through their emotional feelings as well.

can be managed using Emotional Intelligence.

activity. Moreover, group members should work as a team to complete this activity. Timing
will be an issue because various conditions will occur, dusting the workshop and activity.
There are various persons in a group from a different culture which is a good way to develop
personal skills. In addition, all the processes can be improved using the diversity of
participants. It will develop a skill to manage all the processes at the workplace.

This workshop was based on the self-awareness of a person to develop new skills in them
using different types of activities. Moreover, there are many good advantages of all those
activities in the workshop including the Johari Window activity, role play, and emotional
intelligence activity. Each activity has based on self-awareness, which is a part of personal
development. In addition, self-analysis is necessary for developing new skills.
Moreover, this workshop will provide better outcomes as well. It will improve the knowledge
as well as other skills in a person. Furthermore, there are many benefits to all those activities.
In addition, leadership can be a better skill, which can be developed using this workshop.
Moreover, many processes can be managed using various factors. Moreover, many processes
can be mamboed using all those skills that can be developed through this workshop. All the
activities are based on the group, which is a good platform for open communication. A
participant can identify different skills in them, which are good for their personal and
professional development.
Furthermore, all the activities will provide help to self-awareness as well as self-analysis.
Moreover, a person must use these activities in their personal life to manage their skills. It
will improve their strengths, which will provide differing opportunities in the future as well.
Additionally, many critical issues will solve using new skills especially leadership and
teamwork. Finally, all the activities will improve the outcomes of the workshop, which will
beneficial for participants in short terms as well as long terms.
