This presentation will be focus upon self evaluation of skills, qualities and traits present within
an individual. Other than this it will further focus upon development of professional development
plan.
Introduction
This presentation provides an overview of your self- evaluation and professional
development plan and lastly will further reflect upon transferable skills developed during this
module. Detailed developed professional developed plan will help in identifying development
needs on the basis of participation in module. Professional development plan (PDP) is a kind of
a roadmap that contains strategy, skills, and education which is required by an individual in
career and like for achievement of professional goals. PDP helps in identifying development
needs of an individual in an effective manner.
Self-Evaluation
There are various kinds of strengths, weaknesses and traits that were identified and
gained from self-reflection and from other self- assessment tools. Self- assessment and self-
reflection tools helped me in understanding skills upon which I need to work and are required to
be developed. SWOT analysis was one of the self-assessment skills that helped me in identifying
my main strengths, weaknesses, opportunities in future and threats that are required to be focused
upon. It helped me in evaluating my own skills that further helped in bringing improvement
within my current skills in an appropriate and effective manner. This evaluation is important to
identify skills that are required to be developed that can help an individual to move forward
towards a successful career.
Strengths
Self- reflection helped me in understanding that some of my main strengths are multi-
tasking, time management skills and digital skills. My multi-tasking skills are good enough and

help me in completing multiple tasks simultaneously within given specified time- period.
Another one of my main strength is my time management skills. This module has helped me in
strengthening my time management skills by prioritizing my work and dividing available time-
period accordingly. Participation and working in module also helped me in strengthening my
digital skills.
Weaknesses
But during this module I have also identified that there are various kinds of skills that are
still required to be developed or enhanced by me as those skills are my weakness and they can
create barriers in achievement of my professional goals. I need to develop my team working
skills. Whenever work in a team, there are various barriers that create hurdle for me in
communicating with other team members, collaborate with them and work effectively. This
module further helped me in evaluating my leadership skills as well and as a result I had
identified that I do need to bring improvement within my leadership skills so that I can lead a
group of people working together and achieve desired goals and objectives in an accurate
manner. Other that this, it has also evaluated that in order to develop or strengthen these skills it
is extremely important for me to be strengthened is Verbal communication because without
effective verbal communication it is difficult for me to enhance other skills in an effective
manner.
Traits
Self- reflection helped me in identifying traits that I have gained. Some of the main traits
gained by me are confidence, critical thinker, and action oriented. I am a confident person i.e.
despite of facing any kind of barriers or issue I have confidence that I can bring improvement
within my skills and qualities that can further help me in developing a successful career. I have
developed critical thinking trait that helps in identifying logical solution for any kind of problem.
I am an action- oriented person who focuses upon finding innovative solution for any kind of
problem.
Professional development plan
PDP can help in identifying skill gaps, develop action plan through which improvement
or development in these skill gaps can be brought. professional development plan can directly
help an individual to identify and develop plan through which an individual’s weak skills can be

While making self evaluation through the mode of SWOT I came to know and analyse
about myself that what are my real strengths and weakness. This analysis enables me to have a
look of my own capacity and weakness. Through this analysis I also able to know that what are
the future opportunities that I can grab and what are the threats that could affect me. Likewise,
when I made the PDP I came to know the actual skills that I already have and the skills that is
needed by me to develop. This plan is used to make planning regarding future so that
development of an individual would being made possible (PLANNING, 2018). Through this
plan I found that there are many skills which is yet to be discovered and developed by me. This
plan act as a guidance that will lead me towards the direction of success and personal
development.
The concept of self evaluation and PDP help me to analyse that I have good time
management and digital skills. However, I also came to know that the skills including teamwork,
leadership, verbal communication along with research and analytics are still needed by me to
have focus and to be developed. These skills are acting as a gap that is blocking me towards the
direction of success. However, it can be had a better understanding through the Gibbs model of
reflection. As per this model there are five stages of the reflection that I made considered while
making my self reflection about myself. As per this model the very first step includes description
which includes the description of ourselves and our experiences (He, Parkinson and Doyle,
2018). Through this step I make and describe my own experience towards this evaluation and
PDP. After that I made and express my feeling and thoughts which is counted under the second
step of the model. With regard to this step I express my thoughts in relation of my experience. In
the same way as per the third step evaluation is being made (Mulder, 2018). Thus, I make an
evaluation of my experience that enable me to know my real strength and weakness.

After that I made an analysis where I found that I posses the skill of time management
and digital knowledge. In the same way I also analyse that there are still some skills that are
needed by me to develop. Then I made a conclusion that what I have learned during this whole
journey of my life considering the every aspect. Likewise, then I prepare an action plan whereby
I made PDP that guides me that how and what planning is needed by me in order to develop the
lacking skills. Thus the Gibbs model enable me to have my own reflection. Likewise, this model
also guides me to have an effective evaluation of myself so that I can know that my capacities
that I can use in order to grab the future opportunities. In the same way this model also enables
me to identify my skill gap that is needed by me to fill so that the threat can be minimized and I
can achieve success.
Conclusion
From the above presentation it has been summarized that it is important to conduct a self-
assessment and reflection as it helps an individual in identifying their main strengths and
weaknesses. It further helps them in identifying their main traits that they have developed during
their session. It can further help an individual to evaluate their main strengths, weaknesses, traits
that they have developed over time. This evaluation is important to identify skills that are
required to be developed that can help an individual to move forward towards a successful
career. Above presentation also helps in summarizing that that development of a professional
development plan can directly help an individual to identify and develop plan through which an
individual’s weak skills can be developed or enhanced in an accurate manner. PDP can help in
identifying skill gaps, develop action plan through which improvement or development in these
skill gaps can be brought. This assignment has further helped in understanding different kinds of
reflective models. Reflection can to have an effective evaluation of oneself so that they can know
that my capacities that I can use in order to grab the future opportunities.
