INTRODUCTION
Personal development of an individual leads to their self improvement with which self
awareness can be created and work-life balance can be developed. But for this various skills need
to be improved by the students so that they can improve their overall ability to deal with the
situations (Grossman, 2019). For achieving the desired outcomes the students need to develop a
portfolio of various tasks that can facilitate them in managing such outcomes. In this report the
reflection is written on the participation in the group presentation during the graduation with the
help of which the area of improvement can be identified and on the basis of which an action plan
is developed.
MAIN BODY
1) Reflect on your performance in the group presentation
A person to be successful has to focus upon their journey so that they can determine the
resources and efforts that they have applied and achieved their desired outcome. While preparing
for success it is important for a student to focus upon various events that has taken place in past
along with their positive and negative impacts as with the help of this they can identify the areas
where they need focus upon (Kot, 2017). Being a student I participated in various activities due
as with the help of this I can develop my skills and abilities of managing various situations in my
professional career. Participation in various academic and extra-curricular activities enabled in
developing confidence and courage to deal with various challenges that are offered in different
situations.
When I was in my third semester my teacher gave us a group assignment which has to be
presented in the class after a significant time period for completing the activity. That assignment
included various primary research and collection of data. Thus on the basis of such data we had
to formulate our findings with justifications. For undertaking this group assignment entire class
was divided in the group of seven so I was placed in a group of those students who were not so
friendly to me was were dedicated for their work. The topic of our presentation was related to the
customer’s behaviours related to the launch of the products. To completed the assignment in an
efficiently manner we planned all the activities that has to be undertaken. Also the roles and
responsibilities were allocated to different students in different stages so that contribution of each
and every student can be ensured. In the first stage we had to gather data and for that my

responsibility was to frame a questionnaire on the basis of which the responses from the
individual can be obtained. In the next phase my responsibility was to develop various themes
for analysing the data efficiently. While in the next phase my responsibility was to prepare the
PowerPoint presentation with the help of other two team members. Then the last phase was to
present the entire assignment along with the presentations before the panel and the other groups.
At each and every stage different roles and responsibilities has to be performed by me
which offers new challenges and more efforts (Mejia, 2016). On the basis of this answers to
various questions are provided below:
What have you learnt?
With the help of this group presentation, I learnt that when any activity is done with the
help of other or in a team it can done efficiently as with this efforts of each and every member
can be integrated to reach to the desired outcome. Also I learnt what factors must be taken into
consideration while preparing the questionnaire as it has to be specific to the topic.
What new information has been presented?
The topic was related to the behaviours of the customer and to support this we gathered
information for taste and preference of the customers regarding new mobile phone, the features
that they taken into consideration the most along with that the factors that motivates them to
make their purchases.
What was interesting?
The collection of data from the customers was quite interesting but my role was very
little in that phase. But for me preparation of the power point was interesting as I prepared it in
such a manner for the first time. At that time I faced various technical issues related to the use of
features of PowerPoint due to which I realised that I need to improve on this.
How might you use the new information?
The actual data was gathered from the customers regarding their buying behaviour and
we classified that data so obtained in different themes so that it can easily understood and
analysed. With such analysis we framed the finding for the assignments. The idea of
development of themes was new as to manage the responses of the people in initial stages would
not have been easy for us (Rubens, 2018).
What did you not fully understand or confused you, and what did you do about it?

While we were putting the responses in different themes we analysed that some of the responses
were confusing as the customer is in favour or against it. In addition to this, various methods of
conducting the research confused me as it was my responsibility to identify the method and
prepared for it. Then after analysing all the methods the questionnaire methods was found
appropriate as with more information from different people can be gathered in comparatively
lesser time period.
2) Elaborate on the areas that you need to develop further
On the basis of above analysis it is identified that inspite of achieving various outcomes it
is important for a student to determine the areas where they need to improve so that they can
enhance their academic and professional activities (Giles, 2016). The areas of improvement can
be identified in each and every phase that I had to perform some or the other role. At the time of
formulating questionnaire I realised that I do not have better team management skills as I do not
took advise of another team member in context of what questions can be asked for the customers.
This could motivated others that and a better questionnaire could have been developed. Also
when any other member use to face problem in executing their part no significant support was
provided to them considering each one has to perform their role but with a little help. Due to this
many times conflicts arise among the team members which affected the presentation in front of
the panel. This make me realised that I need to work upon my team management skills so that
such issues are not faced and the outcomes can be achieved more efficiently.
In addition to this, there was lack of communication among the members due to which the
project could not be submitted on time. After the information from the customers were gathered
it was not informed otherwise themes would have been developed sooner and script for the
presentation can also be written n time so that preparation could have done within sufficient
time. So I realised that I need to work upon time management which is crucial professionally.
Apart from this I realised that while I was preparing presentation I did not had understanding of
various features of the PowerPoint that can make the persecutions more attractive. For this I took
guidance from the mentors while undertaking the topic and for this I felt that these technical
skills must be improved as such presentation will be crucial in higher studies as well as in even
professionally. In addition to this, we faced so many problems while analysing the data so
gathered from the customers as behaviours and perception of people various due to which their
responses for some open ended questions were difficult to analyse. This was because of lack of

understanding of various methods and tools that can be used for analysing the data and such
skills need to be improved so that it can facilitate in decisions making process in profession and
even in performing better with the research papers. To improve all these skills various action
plan must be developed by all the students so that they can ensure their desired outcomes and for
this they need to gather sufficient information, develop plans and formulate various strategies as
per their goals and objectives (Specht, 2017).
3) Develop an action plan
Personal development plan is an action plan which is created by a person based on the
awareness of the strengths, weaknesses, values, reflection, goals etc. so that personal
development can be done and improvement can be done in self. It is important that the
characteristics, skills and traits of self are analysed regularly which can help in identifying the
areas where improvement can be done that can help in developing an individual
(Brinkmann,2017). The action plan can also help in making the skills of a person better so that
they can apply for higher education and also increase their employability skills so that they can
get selected in firms globally. Thus this plan helps in the development of an individual both
personally and professionally and plays an important role in their success. Following is a PDP

CONCLUSION
It is concluded from the above report that an individual need to consider various aspects that
can enable them to manage their performance and to determine the areas in which they must
bring improvement. For this various events are analysed from which challenges and lack of skills
are identified and for such skills the action plan are developed so that they such skills can be
improved. With this a student can ensure their success in academics and well as in their
profession.
