INTRODUCTION
. A personal & professional improvement plan is a method of creating an action plan to help an
individual to accomplish personal objectives. In order to facilitate the planning process, it is
important for an individual to consider his or her own abilities, , significance, weakness and
awareness. The HOTEL that was chosen under this assignment is Savoy. It was established in
the year 1889. It has around two hundred and sixty seven guest room. It is mos luxurious hotel
located in central London. The topic on which discussion are made are PDP ( professional
development plan), In the report we discussed about the soft and hard skills that should be
present in a person who engaged in hospitality industry. SWOT analysis is done in the project.
Also preparation of job interview is done and to get, the job curriculum vitae is prepare. Plan is
to design and explain in brief. And various topic are also explain (Tyler, 2021)

Importance of on-going professional development
Personal & professional plan is continuous process. In this owner or manager of the
organisation must be aware regarding skills and talent that are present in their workforce so that
it became easy for them to acheive the targets and objectives effectively as well as efficiently

Skilled workforce: It tends to be observe that with the help of continuous professional
development plan managers gets skilled workforce who finish all their work within time which
was allotted to them (Stephens and et.al., 2019). As skilled employees support organisation to
operate their functions smoothly which is beneficial for employer of Savoy Hotels because
skilled workers reduce their wastage and utilising the resource at optimum level(French, 2020)
Up-to-date knowledge: As on regular basis training & development are provided by
Savoy hotel to their important human resource because they are those people in whose hands the
success of business depends. Therefore by making arrangement of training session by experts
company can increase the efficiency level of employees that is beneficial for both for employer
as well as to employee.

their company so that staff members work with great zeal and easily achieve the business goal.

to them from inside. It make increment in their performance. Talented human resource is known
as assets of the company. By working in their professional and personal skills an individual is
became satisfied. As these skills force them to complete their task in effective manner.
Increased employability: The employees work on their skills and develop them. This in turns
help them to get more opportunity of job and get more money. If the person has skills,
knowledge and talent than he can easily get the job as well as survive in the competitive
environment. Their skills is their strength which make the person differ from others. That’s why
individual try to improve their skills so that they become successful in their life (Tanjung, 2021)
Professional standards and expectations
Staff are required to follow professional practises to run successfully and efficiently at Park
Plaza Hotel, it is critical to follow all criteria. It is also important that the employee adheres to all
ethical and technological standards (Bridges, 2018). It's is necessary for organisation to work by
following ethical code. The staff must be always ready on time and in proper neat & clean
uniform always. These are considered as standards of Savoy Hotel which their staff expects from
their staff (Iserson, 2019)

Effective written and communication skills: It is necessary to individual to have excellent
skills to communicate if they are engaged in the hospitality industry because they are require to
make communication time to time with customers. Efficient written communication skills are
often expected to convey reminders to workers .I have excellent verbal and writing skills, which
will aid me in being a good hotel manager. This will assist me in communicating effectively with
all staff and developing positive and successful relationships with them when working in the
hospitality industry (Messier, 2020)
Flexibility: I am versatile individual who adjust myself according to circumstances.
Since there is a need for versatility in the business environment, we must act according to the
organization's needs and wishes, as well as the needs and wants of clients. A versatile individual
is best able to communicate with clients. There is a requirement for versatile staff at hotel
Savoy .They are good at completing delegated tasks and do not engage in any conflict.
Problem solving skills: When operating in an organisation, there are a variety of disputes that
occur between workers. A manager's job is to settle all problems and find a good solution that is
acceptable to all existing parties. There are a variety of issues that occur in front of clients, so
there is need to have strong and successful problem-solving capabilitie in managers so that they
make control & maintain peace in their hotel (Ferguson, 2020)
Decision making skills: In an organisation, it is essential to make successful and
intelligent decisions. I have a strong ability to make decisions and get people to obey those
decisions for the organization's and customers' progress. As a result of the different
circumstances that exist, it is necessary to make sound decisions. It has been observed that the
manager's decision making determines the organization's performance or failure.
Strong interpersonal skills I have strong leadership skills that will enable me to act
more efficiently. Hotel managers must have outstanding interpersonal skills in order to
accomplish all of the roles assigned to them . Customers must be conversed with, and a positive
impression must be made.
