INTRODUCTION
The Marriott hotel was founded in 1972 and is delivering the services to the customers.
Hotel is provided the facilities to the customers and also want the effective services form the
employees which are working in the hotel. The report consist of the professional development
programs which are building the professional qualities in the employees. It includes the benefits
of the professional development programs to the employees and the employers. The report
includes the employers expectations form the employee which want to join the organization.
Learning theories and the professional development approaches are explained in the report. The
strengths and the weaknesses of the interviews process are also explained in the report. The
report is explaining about the professional development programs which are increasing the
productivity of the restaurants.

P1) Key benefits of professional development for stakeholders
The hotel Marriott is focusing on the professional development programs of the
employees which are working for the hotel. Professional development skills are important for the
different employees, these skills are attracting the customers as well (Hellsmark, and et.al.,
2016).
Professional development skills are sharpening the knowledge and the skills gained by
the employee in training period. Employees of the company would refresh the knowledge by the
seminars and the events which are helping the employee to stay updated. Employees which are
working in the hotel are also needed to develop themselves and gain the knowledge as well.
Through these the employee of the company would also brush their skills and the also sharpen
the knowledge provided in the seminars and by increasing the productivity of the employees.
Through the professional development the employees of the company would get the
opportunity to learn something new and also gain the knowledge regarding the new
technologies which are used in the company. The employees of the company are gaining the
knowledge regarding the professional skills programs.
Through these programs employees of the company feel satisfied regarding the job.
These would decrease employees retention rate and also decrease absenteeism of employees in
hotel. Due to the training and the effective mentor-ship the employees of the work effective in

industry covers several businesses and organizations like hotels, tourism etc. It is important for
these companies to maintain a strong relationship with customers and provide them an effective
service. This goal can be achieved only when employees have knowledge and skills related to
hospitality sector. There are some requirements of skills by employer for becoming a
professional employee in Marriott hotel such as:
Team working: Team working is one of the main skill which is being required by
professional employer of Marriott. All functional department of this hotel are interrelated like
marketing with customer services, sales and HRM with finance etc. If all staff members of
different departments work in a team and a group then they are more likely to become
productive. General manager of hotel is working with all the department because manager has to
handle all the department of the hotel and also inform them about the customers reviews as well
(Jakovljevic and Ankiewicz, 2016).
Communication: Effective communication is important for the all the employees which
want to work in the hotel. Employees of the need to communicate effectively with the

Hotel management want the effective employee for the hotel. If I was the candidate for
the job I must have the certain qualities which are fit for the job. The skill are done for the hotel
manager and the hotel manager is working in the hotel and managing the work and employees.

and complete the work on the given time. These would help the manager to work in the effective
way and individual person must have the personal and the professional skills which would help
the individual to work in the effective way.
Critical thinking skills are skills which are present in me. I would effectively manage
the conditions in the hotel and also think and try to solve the problems effectively. I am creative
and think of some innovative ideas for entertaining the customers and also which would attract
the customers as well. I also have the financial knowledge through which I can also help the
hotel in the financial department (Thomas 2018).
Computer skills, I am having the computer skills which includes the knowledge of ms
word, excel and PowerPoint. Through these soft wares I can communicate with the employees
effectively and also manage the things effectively. Computer system involves the work related to
the payroll and appointments and the reservation details of the customers as well. I also the
knowledge regarding the computer software which will help me solve the computer problems.
Management and organization skills include the management work and the work of the
organization. I can effectively handle the employees of the hotel and also handle and manage the
diverse situations. The hotel managers are usually multitasking and also must also handle the
front desk and finances and employees of the hotel as well (Noe, and et.al., 2017).
I think that the hotel manager must be efficient in providing the customer service.
Customer is every thing for the hotel and the manager must be efficient to handle the customers
and also satisfy the customers as well. I can handle the management operations and also satisfy
the customers according to their needs. I am honest hardworking and also ready to work for the
flexible time.
Most importantly the employee which is joining the hotel must enjoy the work which
would also happen in the case of the employee with the passion and attitude. The employees
must have the passion while working for the company because the productivity of the hotel
would be increased.
The candidate which is applying of the job of the hotel manager must have these
qualities. I can effectively manage the hotel and also work for the company as well. In my
opinion employee of the hotel must be honest and also to solve the problems of the customers

Learning theories and the approaches are forming the personal and professional
development skills as well. These theories are focusing on the techniques and the way of the
learning used the individual. The Marriott hotel is concentrating on the ways and the techniques
used by the employees for the learning the things effectively.
Behaviorist Approach is focusing on the way of the learning the things which includes
the training and development programs provided to the employees of the hotel which are
working in the hotel. The feedback given by the customers can be positive and can be negative as
well. This feedback is deciding the behavior of the employees and negative feedback need to be
solved immediately and also employees are effected by the negative feedback.
Cognitive approach is focusing on the mental condition of the employees and employers
as well. The mental condition include the stress and trauma to the employees, due to that

given by the mentor. The mentor of the employees is the employers which are giving them

These approaches are helping the employees to gain the knowledge and perform the task
given in the right way which would also improve the performance of the employees and increase
the productivity as well. These theories and the approaches are also helping the employers to
professionally develop the employees. Personally and professionally person would effectively
work in the hotel and satisfy the customers as well (Zhu, 2018). These approaches the skill of the
personal and professional development are important for the individual. It would help the
individual to work in the effective way and develop their skill in the effective way. The skill of
then individual person would help the people to manage the services and work in the correct
way. In these ways the professional and personal skills are evaluated.
