INTRODUCTION
The report addresses the reflective learning process which is defined as the learning
process which helps in measuring and enhancing the abilities, skills and knowledge to make the
work more effective and efficient. The report will also consist of the role play, self – analysis
through Gibbs' Reflexive Model and the action plan defined as the Personality Development
Program (PDP).
MAIN BODY
Reflection
Reflection of Role play - The interview conducted with me was easy enough for which I
was able to answer the questions that were put up by the interviewer. The interviewer asked me
about my favourite part as being an waitress to which I responded as I get to serve different
customers as there are new people in the restaurant everyday. I gained interest in the interview
and about the questions which also increased my skill of answering the questions and emerged as
a confident person. This interview session also kept me engaged to analyse more about myself
and thus felt great. One tricky question that caught the interviewer's attention more towards me
was the question which asked me about how I deal with angry customers to which I replied that I
think of a solution there and then and if I am unable top find any solution I seek help from
manager and other senior staff of the restaurant. While answering this question I felt confident
that I was able to answer it as it was not only about the question being asked but I prove proved
my self importance to the interviewer that I can handle any tough situations in my career. The
last question was an interesting one as it questioned my ability to learn new things in life and my
perspective about anything that comes forth in my life. The question was that how was my
experience serving drinks to the customers behind the bar to which I replied that I have been
serving drinks since past 4 years both alcoholic and non – alcoholic and in this process I have
learned to make many drinks which the customer prefers. This interview overall helped me in
evaluating and analysing myself as per my capabilities and strengths.

Skills and knowledge which contribute towards working effectively are -
Good Communication – With the help of proper communication I will be able to communicate
effectively which will increase the chances with the person to interact more. Good

communication skills will help me to analyse more of speaking and written skills. In professional
career communication plays an important role as it is a necessary aspect for self – analysis
(Alsharo, Gregg and Ramirez, 2017).
Patience - Patience played an important role as it helped me to acknowledge the performance
from where I was and what I have to achieve (Dolan, 2017). For this analysis and to work
effectively and efficiently patience played an important role in the professional career
development and acknowledged in knowing myself much better and plan accordingly for the
future perspective (Subramanian and Kumar, 2017). Patience is must in increasing the work
efficiency so that my professional career is developed and there are no difficulties.
Adaptability – The more adaptable I will be working in an environment, there is an increase in
chance for the work to be more efficient. My being adaptable will also help in knowing my limits
and stages where I control myself towards anything new (Toynbee, 2017). My adaptability will
increase the chances to break those barriers and evolve as a new individual at the workplace.
Creativity – My creativity will lead to personal development and the ways to perform a work
which will make it more interesting. Creativity is one such factor which will make my work
more effective and easy in terms of development and to achieve a target (Mumford, Todd, Higgs
and et.al., 2017). Through creativity the ways of working will be changed and I will think more
in an open and broad minded manner.
Technology – Technology is one such factor in practical world which will make my work
efficient because the up-gradation in the technology will help me to identify the work to be
completed quickly without any wastage of time. This is one of the key factors which will make
my work more effective and easy. The newer versions of technology will help me in the work
process to be more direct and in comfortable manner.
Learn-ability – This factor called learn-ability is defined as the thinking ability of mine in which
I will learn and absorb more knowledge from any other source and will always be ready to adopt
new ideas and techniques in my work life. Learn-ability will help me in measuring the
performance and how much I am adaptable to the new beginnings which makes my work more
effective.

One of the most famous cyclical models of reflection leading to six stages which helps in
evaluating and assessing the self learning process through detailed information (Adeani,
Febriani, Syafryadin, Mangana and et.al., 2017).
Stage 1 – Description – It defines whole situation in detail with all the happenings which took
took place during the interview. My interview was taken with the interviewer in which only me
and the interviewer were present. The interviewer took my interview concerning to provide me a
job in which he asked me different questions and checked my knowledge and ability. The
outcome of the interview was that I was able to judge myself and analyse my answers to which I
responded to the interviewer (El Miedany, 2019). It was one of the good interviews which took
place in my career. But I wanted the interview to be more precise in which the interviewer
should have been made more focus on my previous work and the present work and the
improvement which I had made in my job. The questions should have been more direct and the
interview should have been gone longer so that the interviewer becomes satisfied.
Stage 2 – Feelings – The second stage is the feelings stage which explains the feeling of what I
was going through the interview which happened with the interviewer. I was feeling a little bit
nervous but as soon as I started the interview and was able to answer the questions I gained
confidence (Pugsley, 2016). I was very scared before the interview that what will be the
questions and will I be able to answer them or not. But as soon as the interview was over I came
out confident and a different person from the room. All the nervousness vanished away with
time. The interviewer must be feeling good after taking my interview as it went well. During my
interview I was feeling confident and strong as I was able to answer all the questions that the in
interviewer asked me. Now, I think that the interview which I gave was of importance and it
helped me analyse myself in a better way. This interview not only was about my growth and
development in my career but it also helped me analyse my communication skills of which I was
not that much aware of thus it kept my efficiency higher.
Stage 3 – Evaluation – This stage helped me evaluate my good and bad experience of the
interview (Crawley and Hendry, 2018). The good experience was that I applied to the job and
was interviewed. I got selected for the interview and in the interview I realised that there is much
more to the knowledge and skills which I acquired. I was able to learn how to answer the tough
questions in the interview without any hesitation and nervousness which helped me in evaluating

questions in the interview without any hesitation and nervousness which helped me in evaluating

my selves better. The bad experience I had during the interview was that the interviewer was
being tough in his personality which little bit affected my interview. The questions regarding my
career and my job went well and the questions which I had a little knowledge about went not so
well. The main purpose of me and the interviewer was that the interview to be conducted smooth
and efficient enough in a good manner which also happened. So the interview had a positive
impact on me and the interviewer on a collaborative grounds. Thus, this stage made a
significance in my life as whole.
Stage 4 – Analysis – Analysis helps in analysing the situation more better in an informed and
precise manner which consist of the things which went well and which didn't. In my interview
the things which went well was the interview itself and the questions which I was able to answer
put up by interviewer (Nicol and Dosser, 2016). There thing which did not went well was some
of the questions which had no link with me and my job but still were raised by the interviewer of
which I had to answer in appropriate manner. The interview in my sense was good enough as I
was able to explore myself for what I have to achieve in my life. And in a distant way I was able
to identify my career goal. The knowledge the interviewer had helped me to reach the untouched
and important points in my work relation. He helped me acknowledging the aspects of my work
which made me more aware to other measures I can take so that there is an increase in my
performance which leads to self – analysis. The interview also helped me in measuring what
measures are to be taken care of in an interview.
Stage 5 – Conclusions – Through the interview I learned the foremost thing which is, how to
apply in an interview and the other aspects after that which contributed along with it which were
what all measures to be taken care of while appearing in an interview, what questions re to be
prepared for an interview i.e. a general practice which I had done before appearing to this
interview. This could be a more positive situation if other interviewers were also involved was
that I would have been able to face them on large grounds and would then analyse my interview
on large scale. Skills I need to perform more better in an interview than to what I expect is I
should be able to communicate in such a manner that the interviewer gets impressed by my
speaking skills, I should also gain more confidence so that next time any kind of nervousness or
feeling of scarceness does not affect my interview. Other part to what else could I have done to
improve my interview would have been my answering ability so that the interviewer gains the
point that I am knowledgable enough for the job which I am executing.
