INTRODUCTION
Planning a report explains things required to done in certain manner, with some techniques
and time for carrying out practices. Sources or references are footnoted information piece that
provides acknowledge to a student for using ideas of others (Grigal and Bass, 2018). Present plan
includes concept related to personal development, short term goals, long term goals and values
concerned with personal development plan. It also defines how different aspects impact using a
source and evaluates sources used in report.
TASK ONE
Concept defining personal and professional development
Thought behind personal and professional development revolves to assist management of
self-learning and development in whole career (Freeman, 2016).
Personal development refers to lifelong process for assessing skills for maximising
potentials. Similarly, professional development entails approaches connected with instructor
developing along with expand knowledge about skills that aids to meet needs of learners
(Hulsman, Harmsen and Fabriek, 2009).
Short Term goals with examples
Short goals are described to those goals that are to be attained in shorter time duration. For
a student, short term goals are more valued as they improve focus, provides clarity for future and
combat procrastination.
Examples of personal short goals:
ï‚· To improve performance number in university courses.
ï‚· To make changes in work life balance (Cooke, 2017).
ï‚· To develop communication skill.
Medium term goals with three examples
There are kinds of goals that takes bit longer duration in attainment and these are named as
medium-term goals (Hill, 2009). It offers best to worlds that are long enough for achieving
significant progress and short enough for becoming completely distinct person.
Examples stating personal medium-term goals:
ï‚· To complete course in university.

ï‚· To develop and maintain fitness.
ï‚· To enhance networking potentials.
Long term goals with three personal examples
Long term goals necessitate huge planning, efforts, resources and time. These are not the
things that a student wishes to complete in a week, month or year as they are at least many years
away (Getz, 2018). Long duration goals shapes direction for careers and strives people for
remaining focused about where they want to be.
Examples reflecting three long goals
ï‚· To care less about what others think.
ï‚· To start own venture.
ï‚· To practice mindfulness.
Discussing personal development plan
Idea of personal development plan constitutes identification of development requirements,
opportunities to learn and devise an action plan.
Personal development plan benefits an individual to have clear focus for learning, improving
self-motivation, enjoying life more and taking less stress from learning as they are aware about
strategies for developing self for livings (Bell, 2010).
TASK TWO
How aspects such as Author, Relevance, Purpose as well as Reliability affect use of source
There are aspects or factors that impacts use of source in great manner. One is Author who
is creator of some kind of written work. It affects source use at the time when name and initials
are not properly referenced or cited in the information of report plan. Another is purpose that is
defined as a reason behind which some work is created or existence of certain working in
academic field. Purpose of source and information should be similar, otherwise, it leads to
negative impacts on source use within report plan. Reliability is also a factor which impacts
widely on using as source as reliability is termed to the consistency of a study or material. When
information of a source is not consistent with details in report it results in unfavourable effects.
The last is relevance that is connection of concept of one topic with another in the ways which
makes use of consideration of both ones (Anderman and Koenka, 2017). When source used lacks
connection with mentioned information in report plan then it effects on its usage.
