Response to Question 1
Extempore style of speech is a restricted planning discourse occasion dependent on
research and unique examination. Impromptu talking is known as a serious talking occasion
mainly in the United States in secondary school along with school crime scene investigation
(YouTube). Unpremeditated pace of speaking allows 30 minutes of time for planning,
followed by trail of a discourse of seven minutes. When the speakers ready, they are offered
with three inquiries that they need to reply. Questions depend on current issues, and subject

Response to Question 2
The speaker uses humour, irony, and metaphors to grab the attention of his audience.
He also uses a narrative and story telling style that helps him to narrate his story and inform
the audience about the reality of the situation. However, he does this very cautious so that it
does not turn his story into a sob story. He wants to inform the audience about the fact and
not just make them feel sympathetic about him and the entire homeless community

The metaphors of “blood money” “trapped in a cage” and “child slave” have been
used by the speaker to make the sitation more real and believable to his audience (YouTube).
Blood money was referred to when his mother sold her blood to get money in return with
which she could buy food for her family. the use of metaphor in speeches have been proven
to be useful for the speaker to establish his credibility and for the audience to understand the
situation.

His emotional appeals include the situations when he was a child who grew up seeing
people of his community survive in extremely por living conditions and deal with substance
abuse. A part is also noticed when people of the community start resorting to criminal
activities in order to earn money. Apart from this, he uses facts to appeal to the values of the
audience since he talks about the paradox in the American society (YouTube).

Credibiltiy us built by the author with the help of three aspects- competence that
mentions the aspects of eductaion, experience, and background since they relate to the topic
and audience. To show good character by being honest, and sharing good and true
information. The truth does not need to be exaggerated. It is important to be genuine and
transparent about oneself (YouTube). Lastly, the speaker showed that he cares about people
by treating them in a friendly and respectful manner.

He used facts and numbers for establishing his information. I did not find any issue
with his citations.

In order to be persusive, it is essential to follow the above stated factors as they help
to build credibility and that is one of the most important quality that the audience looks for
the speaker (YouTube).
