TASK 1
Being a Visitor Welcome Manager, I have learnt the importance and role of self-managed
learning for the development of personal and professional. This section will cover
approaches to lifelong and self-learning with its benefits.
1.1 APPROACHES FOR SELF-MANAGED LEARNING
Self-managed learning is a path for an individual to manage their own learning which helps
them in their development both personally and professionally. This helps an individual in
taking their own decisions by designing and developing programs for learning many things
for managing themselves. Self-managed learning helps taking initiative in lifelong
development for the person or organization (Cunningham and Bennett, 2017).
As a visitor manager at the national trust, self-management helps me in welcoming the
visitors politely in order to maintain the decorum of the organization and to provide
effective and lifelong satisfaction to the visitors. I can use my self-managed learning skills in
solving the problems of life by analysing them (Cunningham and Bennett, 2017).
APPROACHES FOR SELF-MANAGED LEARNING
CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS
These have become most important for improving the personal and professional life of a
person for gaining more knowledge and skills. By this approach, an individual can prepare
himself for debate and speech by involving and sharing his personal experiences and
knowledge with others. This helps in gaining the development of personality and personal
skills (Cunningham and Bennett, 2017).
SOCIAL NETWORKING
This includes the social sites which are used for interacting with others which helps
individuals in developing their personal skills. The sites are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.

gaining more information by chatting with seniors and champions for the development of
communication skills and personality (Cunningham and Bennett, 2017).
INTERNET
This has become a very essential part of the life of an individual as it has become a source of
gaining more and more knowledge and the ideas for changing a life. This is a source of
becoming self-learner and this approach helps in browsing relevant concepts and
management topics which helps in studying in a short period of time (Cunningham and
Bennett, 2017).
In my concern for The National Trust, conferences and seminars are most relevant for me
and my staff members in order to make conversation with the visitors and this is the best
approach for self-managed learning.
