Task 1
1.1 The concept of professionalism and dual professionalism in education and training
Professionalism in education leads to includes a different set of complete skills and
interaction with students, parents and other staff members. The first step in order to become
professional is to get the degree of education and meet the standard criteria. On the other side
dual professionalism are known as both teachers and trainers who are committed to maintaining
and developing their expertise in both aspects of their role in making sure the best outcome for
their students (Cruess, Cruess and Steinert 2016).
There are five standards that most professional teacher must have that are as follows:
Knowledge
It is important that teacher must have good understanding related to the curriculum they
teach and the way they transfer that knowledge to learners. For instance, a maths teacher should
know the way to work out the math problems and reflect students the way it is associated with
life likewise, counting changes at the grocery shop (Khalili, Hall and DeLuca, 2014).
Aware of diversity
It is important for the teacher to understand the significance of diversity so that cultural
difference cannot affect the students learning such as the difference in age, gender, race etc.
Along with this teacher should be able to modify all their instruction for supporting the students
who required special learning needs (Evetts,, 2014).
Ability to plan
For the teacher, it is important to focus on preparing a short-term and long-term plan on
the basis of curriculum goals. Along with this, they should have proper resources available in the
classrooms.
Strong communication skill
A professional teacher should know how to listen as well as to speak in an effective
manner so that student can understand their language.
Ability to collaborate

Professional teacher need to understand that learning need to improve so that students can
review quality teaching facility (Powers, White and Jain, 2016). While working in collaboration
also help in improving the skills and knowledge of teachers.
1.2 Ways in which own professional values influence own practice in an area of specialism
There are different ways in which own professional can influence own practices. The
professional values are known as at the core of standards. Values are basically complex and they
work for shaping like professionals. All values can be reflected through all our professional
relationship and practices. While carrying out area of specialism it is important to considered
connection between values and practices. It can be essential part of being critically reflected and
enquiring professional (Răducan and Răducan, 2014). There are some core values of professional
such responsibility, excellence, integrity, professional duty etc. While providing teaching facility
it is important for professional to follow all the roles and responsibility in an effective manner.
Along with this it is also important to ensure that to take feedback from different sources in order
to make improvement, Apart from this professional should also try to make continuous
improvement in work so that students can quality teaching facilities. It is important for
professional to follow ethical principle and standard such as fairness in doing work, truthfulness
while speaking etc.
Task 2
2.1 Ways in which social, political and economic factors influence education policy
Stork and Walker, 201 5observe that there is significant impact on the educational policy
and education system of a nation can be impacted because of the different factors that are
political, social and technology and economy. Through developing an efficient education policy,
it will become easy to carry out education in an effective manner (Renz, and Herman, 2016). There
are many countries who are highly recognised for their high-quality education standard and
excellence in academic’s. The UK’s education and policy focus on removing inequality and
promoting diversity in an educational institution. In order to develop a professional approach,
practical oriented learning and self-approaches play a significant role in order to develop their
knowledge and skills. In addition to this, it also helps in moulding themselves to compete in a
competitive market.

Working as a teaching assistant and health care assistant I can easily encourage the learners in
order to develop their personal and professional skill in the field of health and social care.
Transferable skills, personal skills etc play a significant role within the firm in order to provide
quality services. Transferable skills are known as the general skills which are important for an
individual to work flexibly and adopting working environment. While working as a teaching
assistant it is important for me to develop transferal skills of people who are learning in y under.
In addition to this, it is important communication between services user and service provider
with respect to improving practical skills (Grohar-Murray, DiCroce and Langan, 2016). This
leads to developing learner’s knowledge in the field of science and technology. One of the major
cause of unemployment which I identified is that people unable to find out their skills and
develop them due to which they suffer from job loss. The main reason behind unemployment is
the lack of communication skills, transferable skills etc. While, working as a teaching assistant it
is my responsibility to trained learners and makes them enough capable to deal with any situation
in the health care sector.
2.2 The impact of current educational policies on curriculum and practice in own area of
specialism
To improve the quality and standard of the UK education government has adopted a
market mechanism in its education system. It is one of the effective approaches implemented by
the government. In respect to solve problems associated to the poor literacy and numeracy there
are new policies such as national literacy and numeracy strategy and national curriculum policy.
the national curriculum policy is designed for students who are between the age of 7 to 16 in
order to raise the education in various subjects. Along with this government has also conducted a
national test to analyse the knowledge of learners and understanding related to the national
curriculum. While working as a teaching assistant it is important for me to provide right learning
material for improving their knowledge related to the different subjects. Along with this it is my
responsibilities to make that each learner get proper guidance and training facility in the health
care sector. Along with this teacher can also adopt an effective learning method in order to
enhance learning of an individual.

social, economic and culturally responsible. In order to accomplish all this responsibility, it is
important to ensure that set different regulatory framework in order to promote equality and
diversity at the educational institution. At the time of forming a code of conduct it is essential for
college to consider the statutory regulation and guideline. This will help in protecting from
penalties and for keeping the appropriate educational environment. Therefore, according to the
regulatory framework, it is important to keep the classroom free from any type of discrimination
in the form of age, ethnicity and gender etc. In agreement with this it is important to for that in
classroom any kind of disrupt related to equality do not take place. Along with this college and
teachers should follow all the safety related guideline according to the provided framework.
Apart from this risk assessment and handling policies are necessary for making sure that students
learn in safe environment (Nasra and Heilbrunn, 2016). At last it is important that if any act carry
out that disrupt the safety such as consumption of drugs or bullying done in the college then it
should have assessed and reported to the higher authority immediately in order to keep other
students safe and away from illegal practices.
4.2 The impact of organisational requirements and expectations on curriculum practice in own
area of specialism
Curriculum practices is important and within the expectation within the mental health
practices because at Bexley. Therefore, it is essential to keep knowledge related to the different
sets of guideline and practices in order to carry out all the activities in an effective manner. In
these special setting, students are mostly diverse and they possess highly various learning
abilities. For example, if one student is autistic then other may be skilled in attention deficit
disorder. However, reaction and responsiveness may be different from each other’s. Therefore, it
is important to ensure that deliver effective learning environment which is rely on the theoretical
model (Hallinger and Chen, 2015). With the help of Brookfield four lenses model a teacher can
easily improve practices. Rizvi and Lingar, 2010 state that refection lead to improve skills of
competency and efficiency in teaching and with the use of the model it can be accomplished
easily. However, I can use this model in respect to improve my own skills and knowledge.
The first one is an autobiographical lens in which I can investigate my previous knowledge as
a learner and understand the way to act with the students who suffer from mental disabilities.
The second lens is known as a student’ in which I need to reflect teaching in the student’s
perspective. To strengthen my practice, I can evaluate feedback and carry out group activity. The

third lens is of highlighting an innovative solution for the improving teaching practices. Here,
through making a strong relationship with peers it will become easy to identify teaching problem
and improve measures which are wrong. The last lens focusses on the requirement for engaging
with scholastic and literature platforms. With the help of this, I can modify my competencies and
change trends. For example, information related to the way technology can support a student
with dyslexia help me in implementing different application such as text to speech software in
the classroom in order to improve learning capabilities of learners.
Task 3
3.1 The roles of stakeholders and external bodies in education and training
Stakeholder play significant role in order to improve educational program and they can
easily influence the success of the firms. Different stakeholders are such as curriculum manager,
learners, parents and employers play crucial role and they are responsible for making an effective
decision for welfare of students. They make decision related to the courses which can be
included in the study for developing students learning (Hallinger, 2017). Employer role is to
collaborate with education providers and render them quality resources in order to develop their
learning experiences. On the other side role of curriculum manager is to develop appropriate
curriculum and policies. Different types of activities are also organised by the manager for
motivating supporting its team members. Parents role is to encourage education among learners
and guide their children which assist in improving the social and behavioural skills of the
learners. All learners are not much capable to understand different curriculum activities. It is
because there are many learners who need a special care and support in respect to understand the
curriculum. It is my responsibility to ensure that within the classroom an effective teach and
learning practices get implemented.
3.2 The way being accountable to stakeholders and external bodies impacts on organisations in
education and training
The education policy which are implemented by the government of United Kingdom are
made responsible to different stakeholders in order to develop a systematic assessment and
curriculum for the institution. In order to implement the learner centred approach it is essential to
take permission from the external bodies. Along with this teacher should get prior approval from
the curriculum managers in order to prepare any teaching plan and learning materials. Apart

from this an administration and curriculum manager have a great concern in respect to decide the
kind of curriculum which is required to implement. Pinar, (2014) state that a teacher should
develop the curriculum on the basis of their expertise learning abilities so that learner can gain
full knowledge. I am working as a teaching assistant and it is my role and responsibility to
develop a curriculum plan which can easily meet the needs of learners and developed their
professional skills so that they can work effectively in health care sector. However due to
unavailability of resources different types of problem can be faced by me such as if books and
other learning material are not available then it will become tough to create curriculum.
3.3 Why it is important to work in partnership with employers and other stakeholders in
education and training
Working in a partnership play significant role in order to implement effective learning
curriculum for students. In order to provide teaching facilities who are suffering from learning
disability it is important to have skills and competencies which assist in meeting the specific
educational requirements. Standard and health care reforms are also revised and it also forced the
firm to introduce training and development program for adopting the changing situation.
Oermann, (2013) found that to motivate the workforce Maslow theory of motivation can be used
by the firm. Through adopting this model, it will become easy to motivate teachers in the
healthcare sector. Apart from this, special students are different as because they have some
unique requirement and emotions and for measuring this it is important to connect with different
stakeholders.
3.4 The impact of being accountable to stakeholders and external bodies on curriculum design,
delivery and assessment in own area of specialism.
Stakeholder analysis play is one of the effective technique that can help in mapping
different stakeholders according to their power and influence. These all stakeholders can be
mapped in the four quadrants matrix. In the first quadrant it consists of organisation policies,
students, educational reformer and national guidelines. This all stakeholders are highly influence
and have much power to make decision. Further in second quadrant it includes supervisor,
parents and team members because they possess lower influence and significance. In third
quadrant it consists of college authority and management while in fourth quadrant it includes
resources providers and funding agencies (Cruess, Cruess and Steinert, 2016). They all need to

be kept satisfied in order to carrying out learning curriculum in an effective manner.
McLaughlin, Johnson and Sollecito, (2011)
state that it is important for teacher to consider the opinion and requirement of the all the
stakeholders on the basis of their power and importance. For example, the main mission of the
Bexley college is to influence potential of each student through providing a holistic education.
Task 4
5.1 The quality improvement and quality assurance arrangements of own organisation diversity
Bexley College is known as the small-sized college which leads to providing further
education that is depended on the key sites. With the aim of providing quality services, it is
important to focus on quality improvement and quality assurance (Powers, White and Jain,
2016). The college is facing issues because of reduction in the rate of unemployment. Pinar,
(2014) state that quality improvement and assurance is known as the appropriate and
synchronized activities which take place within the firm and improvement can be made in the
frim after the successful implementation of quality assurance. Apart from this, Berkeley college
has received the key strength and also enhanced the rate of level 2 success, progress in their
learning capability of students. In the college, the focus is on effective lesson observation in
order to increase teaching and learning and efficient teamwork within the firm. However, quality
assurance agency also analysed and reviewed Bexley college is providing an effective standard
and quality learning opportunities to students. Further, they also provide suggestion related to
articulating the strategy in order to improve educational opportunity and superiority at higher
education level.
5.2 The function of self-assessment and self-evaluation and the quality cycle
A quality cycle is known as the pre-planned and systematic activities which are
performed by the firm. There are four major steps which are instructed in performing quality
cycle is the plan, do check and act. The assessment for learning is known as the process through
which learner seeks and interpret the evidence. Further teacher measures each student learning
and makes the plan how they can improve their learning .

(Source: McLaughlin, Johnson and Sollecito (2011)
On the other side interpret assessment of learning is that in which teacher used to analyse
student upon learning and find out steps in order to overcome the learning disability. While
working as a teaching assistance it is my accountability measures learner’s capability and
performed an assessment process for analysing and interpreting the current learning of students.
After analysing I will motivate those learners who do not have the ability to deal with their
teammates. I will also provide them extra time for supporting such students and help too to
overcome their disability. On the basis of evaluation provided by Brookfield, I need to initially
focus on my experience for analysing the pedagogy. In Brookfield model, there are four stages
that are as provided below

Further, I need to measure learners progress and I also need the support of students for availing
peer help in their learning which help in building a strong team. Hence my teaching capability
can be improved with the help evaluation process.
5.3 A learning programme taking account of the quality maintenance of own organisation
All the functions performed by Bexley is according its organisational policy in order to maintain,
develop and compare the educational standards which lead to support students in their learning.
There are many organisational strategies that can be formulated by the colleges in order to
specify and understand the different standards of teaching and learning (Nasra and Heilbrunn, 2016).
I am working as a teaching assistant so it is important for me to ensure that students learning
standard is high or not. So that students can be facilitated with right feedback and guided them as
per their expectation. Hence, I can use training evaluation model that is Kirkpatrick model. With
the support of this model, I can easily formulate an appropriate learning program for students
which can be used for teaching students.
11

Figure 2 Kirkpatrick’s evaluation model
Source: Praslova(2010)
There are four levels in this model which can be used for evaluation. This all stages will help in
dealing with the implementation of curriculum that is accessible and easily learned by students.
Further, in the second level where learning capability of students gets assessed. The third level is
known as behavior phase in this student put their knowledge in practices and on the basis of
result evaluation is done. The last level results phase which facilitates the degree to which the
strategy can be implemented successfully.
5.4 Areas for improvement in the learning programme taking account of the outcomes of
evaluation
The quality teaching and excellent teaching facilities provided by the college satisfied the
needs of every student within the college. Provision of wider opportunistic perspective would
avail students of all types to learn and acquire knowledge. It has also been recommended to
Bexley College to enhance the Individualised Effective Program (IEP) so as to assist students
and teachers to assess the student behaviour and thereby recover student issues on social and
academic perspective. With the support of this strategy I could easily assess my student’s
behavioral characteristics and decide upon what learning pattern has to be implemented on them,
long-term or short-term, etc.
There are different areas in the college which is improved through adopting various
strategies. It helps in increasing learning and teaching experience of students as well as a teacher.
For me, it is important to design an appropriate teaching plan for students and help students in
improving their learning through providing quality care. Further teaching experience of college
