INTRODUCTION
Personal Development can be defined as the process which is used in order to provide
specialised training, advanced professional learning and formal education purposes which is
intended to support an individual to improve their own skills, competencies and knowledge. In
order to complete the assignment, the Hotel chosen is Holiday Inn which is headquartered in UK
and provides various accommodation related services to the customers. The operations of
business are controlled from variety of locations such as airport, city centres and suburbs. The
following assignment will make its focus on the key benefits of on going personal and
professional development for stakeholders along with the skills and competency expectations of
employer. In addition to this, the assignment will cover audit skills for specific job role with
some learning skills that will help in the improvement in skills and capabilities of employees.
Lastly, the assignment will present a job interview for the job role and their strengths an
weaknesses.

P1) Benefits of On Going Professional Development for Stakeholders
Professional Development can be regarded as the most important practise that could help
an individual in its growth and development. Additionally, with the help of efficient professional
skills, it would become easy for the organisations to achieve their desired goals and objectives in
an effective manner (Wald and et. al., 2015). Due to this reason, it is important for developing
highly skilled and competent workforce to provide them regularly with on going professional
development practises so that improvement in their performance could be made. This could be
made possible with the help of arranging several events, seminars, conferences, training
programmer, development programs in order to make improvement in their current skills and
knowledge.
Hospitality Industry is one of the fastest growing industry in this world. Along with this,
it is also the third largest industry in term of employment opportunities. Due to this reason, the
number of companies in this industry is also increasing day by day which making the
competition among the companies more intense day by day. It also makes important for the
company to adopt suitable policies and strategies that could help the hotel in the future growth

employees is communication skills that makes them able to communicate properly. With
the help of this skill, the employees will be able to transfer the ideas, facts, feelings in the

could prove to be effective in making improvement in the skills and abilities of an individual to
learn and perform better in the tasks they are provided with (Salifu and Agbenyega, 2016). So
the importance of these theories and approaches will be clear from the below explanation:
Behaviourism Approach: The following approach can be defined as the approach which an
individual gains from the environment in which he or she resits. This behaviour comes due to the
direct experience that an individual comes across while interacting with the people around him.
In other words, it can also be said that this approach says that the behaviour of an individual
changes with the change in the circumstances. So with the help of this approach, it will be
possible for the company to make improvement in the quality of work of their employees.
Cognitivism: This approach is defined as the mental activity which helps in increasing the
ability to think of an individual by providing experience (Brooks, 2016). The main consideration
in this approach is about the self motivation and dedication of employees to work and learn new

environment. It is suggested with the help of this theory that by observing the behaviour of other
individuals that how new behaviour in an individual is created (Sabanciogullari and Dogan,
2015). The Floor Manager of Holiday Inn can work along with the employees in order to create
good understanding in between then and get good work done from the employee of the Hotel.
Kolb Learning Theory: The following theory can be explained as the theory which is applied in
an individual's life from his own experience that he came across. In other words, it can be said
that the main focus is on the learning that an individual gains from the experiences that he came
across at the time of confronting a situation and finding resolution for it. The following theory is
based on the four stages which are experience, reflection, conceptualise and test. An individual
passes through these stages at the time of passing through a particular situation. So the Floor
Manager of Holiday Inn could make their employees to have new experiences and learn new
things that could also help them in increasing their skills and competencies.
