INTRODUCTION
In order to perform any type of roles and responsibilities that needs to be performed
within the organization. In this context, it is essential to have skills and capabilities that enable to
perform their set of given role in effective manner (Hasson-Ohayon, Avidan-Msika and Lysaker,
2015). For personal and professional development it requires certain set of skills that support in
completing and performing the given task efficiently. In this context, it requires skills like
leadership, communication, problem solving, decision making, listening, etc. All these are
helpful and contribute towards achievements of personal as well as organizational objectives.
Skills or attributes identified as part of module
There are different type of models that are available which enable to identify the areas or
the skills that one lacks. In this context, as per personal analysis made, it is identified that there
are four skills that I possess. With the help of module used by me I got know that these skills are
highly beneficial for by personal as well as professional areas. Skills I possess includes listening,
decision making, problem solving, and time management.
Definition and describing core skills
Decision making skills: This skill play vital role in order to select the best alternative.
There are different set of decision that has to be made in life. It can be for short term and many
of them are for long term decisions (Neff and Pommier, 2013). For all these aspects, it is
important for one to have proper knowledge about the situation or the alternative that are
available. With proper knowledge, one is able to make proper decision. For example, at growing
stage individuals take help from their parents or guardians and they are helpful enough to
provide proper guidance. However, there are situations in which decision needs to be made own
their own.
Listening skills: There are conditions I which people feel depressed or demotivated. In
such condition, one prefer to have support who will listen to them. With this respect, it can be
stated that listening skills are helpful enough to develop strong relationship with others (Rodkin,
Espelage and Hanish, 2015). Further, this can be determined as the part of problem solving, in
order to solve problems it requires one to know the actual condition and have proper listening
skills so that they understand the situation and take proper decision. Further, to have effective

communication, listening skills play vital role and this way people get to develop trust and
confidence.
Time management: There are situations in which one has to be perform many different
tasks at same time. It becomes difficult to perform them without getting its quality affecting. In
this condition, it is essential to understand the important task that has to be performed at initial
stage (Castro, Cheng and Grühn, 2016). This way it becomes easy for one to make sure that all
tasks are being completed and that also with proper quality. However, when time is not properly
management, then it increases the rate of risk and this can be determined as one of the main
reasons due to which workers leave the firm.
Problem solving skills: There are different of issues or problems that are being faced by
individuals. In this context, problem solving skills enable to come out of any type of conditions.
This is helpful enough to identify the main course and other alternative steps or strategies that
can be used through which problems can be solved (Cunha, Xavier and Castilho, 2016). Issue in
decision making arises when there are many alternatives that has to be taken but individuals with
problem solving skills will understand the merits and demerits of each alternative and select the
best one that will enable to overcome the issue.
Why I might have these skills
I got to identify these skills with the help of module. Moreover, there was seminar
sessions that were conducted and it helped me to understand and identify the areas in which I can
perform effectively and efficiently. With the help of module, it enables me to develop personal
development plan. This was helpful for me to understand that areas in which I lack. Through the
development plan I was able to make many of my skills raised. Further, I identified 4 skills that I
possess, this included skills like listening, decision making, problem solving and time
management. In addition to this, evaluation helped to understand the importance of
communication skills in developing relationship and building up trust and confidence. It enables
to make other convince over the decision that are taken in order to solve the problems.
Importance of these skills
Each and every skill that individuals possess are important and they all are helpful
enough in some way or other. Further, these enable to perform the tasks and to conduct the
business operations in effective manner. Following are the important of skills that I possess:

Time management: In time management, there are different aspects that has top be
considered. In this context, it includes strategies like prioritization, delegation, health, etc. there
are conditions in which I am provided with many taks that has tp be completed in speculated
time period. With the help of time management, I am able to make sure that all the tasks that are
given to me are being performed effectively and efficiently within the time provided.
Decision making: There are both personal and professional areas for which decisions
needs to be taken by me. In such condition, all the alternative ways are listed out and most
appropriate one is selected (Crowell, Derbidge and Beauchaine, 2014). The module that was
selected by me helped me to understand this type of skill that possess in me. This skill is helpful
for me to take instant decisions over the condition that require proper planning needed.
Listening skills: In order to have proper communication with other, it is important to have
communication skills. Apart from this, it also requires listening skills so that reply can be
provided. This skill enable to understand others and to develop trust and confidence. To make
decision, it is important for me to listen to others and analyse the best alternative to make proper
decision.
Problem solving: With the organization and personal life, there are many issues or
problems that are being faced. It is important to come with appropriate solution to it. With this
respect, I am able to understand that condition and select the best alternative top reduce the rate
of issue. Within organization, there are many conflicts that take place and it is helpful enough to
possess this skill in order to solve them.
Contradictions or allowable weaknesses about skills
There are certain areas that has to be considered in order to make improvement in the
skills that I possess. Below given are the weaknesses that are faced by me in the areas in which I
am good at:
Time management: There are different type of strategies that are included in time
management. Among all these strategies, I lack delegation. It is a type of strategy in which one
needs to identify the similar capabilities that other possess and divided the work so that task can
be managed. I fail to understand that suitable individual who can support to complete the work
on time.
Listening skills: In listening, it requires continuity. At initial stage, I am able to
concentrate but for the long run I fail to have proper focus. In such condition, it becomes difficult

for me to have proper concentration. Due to this, the conversation gets affected and people stop
sharing their issues or problems or the topic on which discussion was going on.
Decision making skills: For decision making, it is important to list out all the alternative
ways with the help of which decision can be taken. However, I fail list out all the ways or
alternatives that can enable to overcome the problems. Due to this issue I fail to take proper
decisions in many of the cases.
Relevance for the future
All the skills that I possess are important are required to be considered at all aspects
whether it may be for personal or professional area. In this context, problem solving and decision
making enables to make sure that the issues that are faced within organization or personal life are
solved. With this respect, there skills will enable to develop strong relationship with others and
to perform the given tasks within time and that also with high quality. This way the development
and growth and support for organization can be made effectively and efficiently.
Evidence of wide reading and familiarity with theoretical concept
In order to make development in the skills and capabilities, there are different type of
theories that can be used. However, individuals should understand and identify the areas in
which they lack and improvement should be made. For this process proper observation and
monitoring is required (Lysaker and Dimaggio, 2014). This way strategies can be developed that
will support in improving the skills and raising performance level. In order to develop skills and
capabilities, different people have diverse set of learning and they are able to make development
accordingly. With this respect, Honey and Mumford is taken into consideration, it is helpful
enough to develop skills. There are 4 elements that it covers and they are as follows:
Activist: This element involves people who learn form different type of situation that are
being faced. These individuals have an open mind and are open to suggestions. There people
make use of situations they face, group discussion, brainstorming, etc. with the help of which
they develop their knowledge.
Theorist: These people focus on main reason due to which issue has raised. In order to
overcome the problems they make use of theories, models, and facts so that they take step by
step action to solve the problem.

Pragmatist: Under this, individuals will make use of practical information in real world
or for the real situations they face. They make use of practical knowledge and they experience in
order to solve problems. In order to raise their understanding, they make use of discussions,
problem solving methods, care studies, etc.
Reflector: These people make use of monitoring and observation to develop their
learning and understanding. They totally depend up the skills and support of others in order to
overcome any type of problem (Lysaker and Dimaggio, 2014). They develop their learning with
the help of self-analysis, questionnaires, etc.
Demonstrating ability to reflect on practice
For both personal as well as as professional life, it requires skills like communication,
leadership, time management, decision making, problems solving, etc. to make sure that the
given tasks are performed effectively and efficiently. Main aim of any firm is to gain maximum
profit. This is only possible when the employees have certain set of skills that support them to
perform with their full efficiency. Further, satisfaction to customers is another aspect that has to
be considered by companies to raise their profitability (Hasson-Ohayon, Avidan-Msika and
Lysaker, 2015). For this process, communication enables to have healthy interaction with
customers and to develop strong relationship with them. Further, it also enables to understand the
problems that are being faced by employees with the organization. As per the findings from
employees, management is able to take up decision to overcome the problem. Further, there are
conflict situations that are being faced within the organization and to overcome them it requires
proper one to have problem solving and listening so that the issue can be understood and proper
steps are taken with the help of which conflicts can be solved. Further, different type of tasks that
are given that has to be performed at same time. This becomes difficult to complete them on time
when one lacks time management skill. However, this skill enable divide the work and to
perform them in an effective manner. Further, it is also essential to have presentation skills in
order to make others understand about the issues that are faced within the organization.

With the help of reflect analysis made, it has identified that in which it is essential to
make improvement. However, there are certain areas that are identified in which I am good.

Time management and problem solving skills: Both these skills are important and are
helpful enough to make sure that all the work that is being provided to me are being done
preformed on time. Further, problem solving skills enable to make sure that all the situations that
arise are solved. There are conflicts situation that are faced within the organization and through
the skills I possess is helpful enough to solve them and come up with an appropriate solution.
Communication and listening skills: Communication play vital role in develop strong
relationship with others. People prefer to share their issues or problems with individuals who are
able to develop effective interaction (Rodkin, Espelage and Hanish, 2015). Further, listening
skills help me to know the problems that are faced by others and effective decision are made by
with the help of which issues are solved.
There are certain weakness that are faced in the skills and they are as follows:
Leadership skills: They are the one who make sure that others are properly guided and
directed so that they will be able to perform effectively. There are conditions in which people get
demotivated or the interest to work get lost. In such condition, leaders play vital role in order to
make other work as a teat and support the organization in order to achieve the goals and
objectives. This is a type of skills that I lack.
Body language: In order to have proper communication, it is essential to consider body
language so that interest can be shown to others. I lack body language as they body gestures that
are used by me make it unpresentable and other develop a perception that I am not interest in the
topic.
In accordance with the analysis, it can be stated that there are many areas that has to be
considered in which I need to improve. In this context, it includes areas like leadership, body
language, etc. In order to make improvement in the skill, self assessment and evaluation will be
made. Further, help will be take from seniors as they have proper experience and they will
provide ways to improve the areas in which I lack.
CONCLUSION
As per the report made, it can be concluded that all the skills that individuals possess are
important and should be considered by them in order to perform the roles and responsibilities
effectively and efficiently. Self evaluation should be made so that the areas in which one lack
and the opportunity they prevail through skills they possess. Among all the skills,
