What was your experience on your first job? Was it good?
My experience during my first job was not pleasant as I had expected. There was a
misunderstanding between me and the boss that I could not even explain. He always scold me
whenever he came across me. This was so frustrating and demoralizing. Generally, my
experience was one that I would not wish for anyone.
The three different writing styles are different in many ways in terms of the level of
formality required, the tone in the message and the purpose of the messages (Holly, 1989). The
text sent to the friend is of informal nature and does not follow any standard procedure while
both the email sent to the boss and the response to a college entry essay are of formal nature.
They denote the formal relationship between the sender and the recipient. The college entry
essay conforms to the requirements of the college.
The different writing styles helps in identifying effective ways of writing messages to
different audience and for different purpose. It enhances one’s understanding of the tone to be
used and how to address a particular person on different levels (Graham, 2008).
