Ethics can be considered as the most significant moral values, which lead human being to
choose in between right and wrong. Ethical behavior in business is highly imperative factor for
running business in a relevant manner (Crane and Matten 2016). This reflective paper will put
forth the discussion of my learning experience in the professional and ethical practice course.
The fifth week deals with the value of ethics in freedom of expression, from which I have
learned about the basis of protecting the freedom of expression in the United States. I have
learned about the core federal laws which can have a firm impact on influencing the freedom of
expression (Young 2017). I have learned about the first amendment. This plays a very significant
role in protecting the freedom of religion along with different forms of expression such as the
visual, non-verbal along with the fundamental right of speaking anonymously. The negative
aspects such as ambiguous speech, usage of negative word are not being protected by the
amendment.
In the sixth week, I have learned about the intellectual property. I have learned about the
significance protecting the intellectual property for the companies. Intellectual property can be
defined as the creative peace of work that is owned by a certain person or a group of people
(Drahos 2017). I have learned about different constitutional regulations of protecting intellectual
property which are very much required for avoiding any kind of infringement in business. This
week has also helped me to gather knowledge regarding the trademark infringement and
licensing agreement that are required for protecting the creative aspect of business.
Seventh week deals with the mode of software development from which I have gathered
extensive knowledge regarding the process control mechanism. At the same time, I have also
learned about the issues, being encountered by the software developers. Different elements of
software development have also been explored by me in this week. High quality of software

system are very easy to learn and are being highly used in recent times as they can perform with
utmost efficiency in a very timely manner. The quality of software plays a significant role in
improving the quality of products that can meet the requirements of customers (Westerman et al.
2014).
From eighth week, I have learned about the role of information technology in improving
the productivity of life. This week as helped me to learn about the benefits of IT in the standard
of life of the employees. IT has supported in implementing modern management technique
which is highly required to run an organization in a systematic manner (Rahimi et al.2016). The
value of output of business has also been increased which is the key of strengthening the position
of a company in the market. I have learned that information technology is one of the most
significant factors in enabling the firms to be more proficient.
To conclude the discussion, it can be said that ethical practice is extremely significant
factor in running business in legal manner. Protecting intellectual property is extremely
important factor in avoiding any infringement. Rapid development of technology is playing a
significant role in improving the productivity of the workers and thereby amplifying the
performance of entire organization.
