PORTFOLIO_3: Responding to an Ethical Scenario
This scenario is unique. Offering suggestion to the deserving candidate in this situation is
difficult. Helping the deserving candidate is further critical as the student who has already got
scholarship is from a privileged background. Since the prospectus clearly highlights the fact that
the scholarship shall be given based on academic performance, in spite of experiencing ethical
dilemma I would like to write to the manager and mention how sending the less deserving
candidate who has scored relative low marks will impact on the image of the institute (Code of
ethics, 2010). When the particular candidate with scholarship will begin studies at a higher level,
it is most likely that either he will not be able to complete the course or achieve low marks.
Besides this he will not be able to perform regularly in class and all these would trigger question
in the mind of the seniors and faculty members. They will be astonished to see how an individual
with scholarship marks is so poor academically and may be in future stop offering the particular
facility to individuals from the respective institute. Thus, sending the wrong person might impact
on future situation and lower chances of studying in the particular background. Following the
ACS codes and ethics such a unique letter will be drafted highlighting key cons of the situation
in which they have decided to send the student with low academic grades instead of the
individual with high grades (Jorif-Mangane, O'Marra & Rubloff, 2013). Sending the wrong
person automatically will impact on the image of brand, but considering ethical approaches will
help in overcoming ethical dilemma in a defined way.
ACS Code of ethics, include the following;
As an ACS member one should focus on honour, dignity and effectiveness of being professional
and this jointly help in meeting
i. Public interest
ii. Improve quality of life
iii. Honesty
iv. Competence
v. Professionalism

Discussion on knowledge advancement and entrepreneurship and breakthrough has been
discussed with special focus on role of migrants in overall economic advancement. Hence the
study helped in achieving an overall improvement and further helped in understand ways of
analysing ethical codes and dilemma in future endeavours. In the professional life such
experiences will be common, often I might face a tough situation and amidst such confusion my
experience during traineeship will help in improving the overall execution of the situation and
also handle the consequences in a strategic manner (Williams, Woolliams & Spiro, 2012).
