INTERVIEW
Interviewee: “Good Morning, Sir.”
Interviewer: “Good Morning, have a seat!”
Interviewee: “Thank You, Sir!”
Interviewer: “Shall we commence with the interview?”
Interviewee: “Most Likely, Sir!”
Interviewer: “Alright. So, according to you, what are the key skills and abilities a general
manager of a hospitality sector should possess?”
Interviewee: “Communication is one of the most important skills according to my opinion and
experience. Moreover, management and leadership skills are also possessed by the General
manager of a hospitality organisation!”
Interviewer: “What would be your approach for handling few unhappy and dissatisfied
customers?”
Interviewee: “The very first task that should be performed by me is to communicate with them
and listen to their issue appropriately which will allow me to analyse the situations effectively.
Secondly, I would be giving them assurance that their needs would most certainly be catered to,
immediately! As I personally look over all the matter and provide them what exactly they expect
with us and desire.”
Interviewer: “How would you manage larger but attainable demands of multiple customers in
the small time period?”
Interviewee: “Delegation and Management would be two most important and primal approaches
which is use and apply in the specific situation. I would immediately approach and interact with
managers of separate departments and most certainly look over allotting them respective duties
and responsibilities according to the goal and by instructions and timelines. Furthermore, for
management purpose, I would be making use of periodic feedbacks to ensure consistency in
operations!”

P7. Review key strengths and weaknesses of an applied interview process.
Once the interview that is conducted it's very important for the Human resource
Department of Intercontinental hotel to identify the key strengths and weaknesses off the
interview process and review it properly for better performance in future. Therefore below are
the strengths and weaknesses present in the table of the interview process mentioned above.
Strengths Weakness
The questions that were asked within
the interview by the interview in
panels were precise and direct which
required direct answers from the
applicant as well (Nam and Lee,
2016). This is very advantages for the
interview process as the scope of any
unprofessional information was
illuminated and contributed towards
finding the best candidate for the job
role.
The spontaneous round of questions
and answers help in acquiring honest
and clear evaluation of the abilities of
the interviewees along with helping in
determining the best candidate.
The interview process which was
conducted was very time-consuming
and this was because of the
descriptive nature of the questions
that were asked by the interview in
panel from the candidates.
Another weakness which is associated
with the interview process is the
length of it as the answers provided
by the interview was were very
lengthy and time consuming as they
were of descriptive nature
(Novakovich, Miah and Shaw, 2017).
CONCLUSION
Hence, from the above report it is summarised that professional identity and practice is an
important element for an individual and must be included by them in their careers for ensuring
effective growth and securing better career opportunities. The importance of on-going

development. At the end a interview script is developed for the job role of a general manager in
the hospitality company for effective examination of the skill and competencies of the applicant
along with knowing the strength and weaknesses of the applied interview process.
