strategies implemented by MNHS, the life expectancy of Maltese people is extremely high as the
pattern of integrated financing and provision is based on a more pluralist approach. The Maltese
public healthcare system is funded through taxes and provides residents the choice to chose
between private and public care system. The Maltese ministry of health offers private medical
insurance to its foreign residents. The MNHS provides a wide variety of services ranging from
reactive to proactive care. The private care settings or institutions offer health insurances for
covering the costs of treatments for the residents. The public and private healthcare system caters
to all kinds of needs and treatments such as surgeries, pregnancy, child birth, rehabilitation. All
the EU citizens are ensured free access to medical services with the possession of a valid
