INTRODUCTION
When individuals attend a lecture or take some learning classes then it increases level of
knowledge and develop various academic skills of them (Notgrass and Pettinelli, 2015). Through
this process, they get opportunity to get job in a particular field, face future challenges and attain
a high success in life. This present report is going to make a critical reflection on how a person
developed as a learner. In addition to this, the way they can approach future challenges and
expectations for becoming a successful person.
TASK 1
In today's competitive world, in order to get success it is necessary for every individual to
develop own skills in regular manner. When people take learning classes in a certain field then it
would help in developing their learning abilities and certain level of knowledge (Gutwill, Hido
and Sindorf, 2015). As a learner, I have taken classes in an affiliated institution of UK i.e. BUKS
University. I have here completed a foundation year in Knowledge and Creativity.
Communication skills is considered as an integral part of this college where instructor mostly
focuses on developing speaking and listening competencies in learners. In context with teaching
the general public and professional communication course, teachers mostly concern on
presenting the theory. They also focus on describing mechanics related to public and official
speaking processes. Therefore, by enrolling in this study concept, it tends me to understand role
of such speaking course in real life context. It aids to know how to behave and communicate
with others as per different situation. In order to enhance our communication skills, educators
have conducted various activities. For example: Create a real life scenario in working
organisation and give some roles to each learner where they have to perform like workers and
behave professionally (Dörnyei, 2014). This would help me in generating effective
communication skills.
Thus, this kind of group activities appears to have an effective and positive impact on our
learning abilities. Apart from communication skills, during foundation course I have also worked
on my writing skills. Teachers give various lessons about how to make right and grammatical
error free sentence. They also taught us some basic but most essential aspects of writing skills
without which sense of a sentence cannot be obtained. It includes use of grammar, capital,
apostrophes and other punctuation marks (Nöth, 2014). In addition to this, I have also learnt

about three major types of tenses that are- Present, Past and Future. It aids to make correct
sentences as well as develop writing and reading skills too.
Furthermore, for working in organisation, a person needs to be creative and sharp learner
also. In this regard, lecturers in BUKS University have taught us by digital technologies (August,
and Shanahan, 2017). Through attractive power point presentation, I have grabbed knowledge
about how to show creativeness in working when working in organisation. It shows life stages of
different entrepreneurs about their educational and family background, shortcomings, experience
and more. The purpose behind this is to inspire us to face difficult challenges and find ways to
overcome from the same. This would motivate me to become a successful person and attain a
good position in big organisations.
TASK 2
After completing foundation course from BUKS University, I have grabbed various
knowledge about personal and professional learning. In this context skills like communication,
technical competency, work ethics, flexibility, determination, creativity and more, are taken as
personal abilities (Tomlinson, 2014). While ability to work under pressure, decision making,
leadership, conflict resolution, self-motivation, adaptability etc. Therefore, all such abilities
make to able to work in large organisation and handle different-different operations more
appropriately. It also generate creativity abilities in my work through which I can give better
solution to company in increasing its efficiencies. Abilities like managerial and leadership aid me
to face future challenges and handle different situations properly. For example: If a company
wants to make some modification in working system for increasing performance of business,
then under such condition through leadership skills I can motivate other team workers to adopt
changes. In this situation, I will tell others about advantages and disadvantages of such
alterations. It would help me in getting support of them towards achievement of business.
Apart from this, personal skills which I have learnt under foundation year aid me to
become flexible in workplace. Teachers have taught me about importance of ethical behaviour in
business and real life context. They have told me how to behave with others and make
interaction to develop strong relationship. Through this process, I would get chance to get a
strong position at workplace and lead a team towards achievement of common goals and
objectives. Furthermore, under classroom, educators have created various real-life working
situation where a person has to take major decisions in favour of business. Along with this, they

have also concerned with benefits of other members too while making decisions because any
wrong policy can create negativity at workplace (Can, 2018). Thus, through such group
activities, I have learnt how to make quick and effective decisions which will provide benefits to
both employees and employers. I have also came to know how to become a successful leader or
manager by working on development of own skills.
CONCLUSION
It has concluded from this mentioned report that for every individual it is essential to
develop own skills and knowledge on regular manner. For this purpose, they have to take
different kinds of learning classes whether academic or professionalism. It would help in
grabbing knowledge of a particular field and brings creativity in a person too. Along with this,
they can also develop their personal and professional abilities too. Through such skills they can
get higher opportunities to make future more bright and develop career also.
