Blind and Visually impaired clients
Designing software and applications for the visually impaired and legally blind is a
huge responsibility since it would have to be flexible enough for the system status to be clear
despite of the challenge. Other than maintaining the regular website standards, screen readers,
image ALT tags, complete user control and concise system should also be used (Lee,
Rajasekar & Kasula, 2018). In that way, a software and application would be understandable
to a user with blindness or visual impairment. The most important implementation in this
case would be the Google text-to-speech and touch-to-text inputs.
Clients with limited or poor hand coordination
Poor hand coordination often comes around with neurological disabilities where the
hand and brain coordination bars a web user to follow the instruction seen on a screen. While
designing a software application of people with poor hand coordination the software should
be made non-flickering. Flickering software content between the range of 2Hz and 55Hz
induces brain dysfunction in people with neurological disabilities (Lee, Rajasekar & Kasula,
2018). Again, the navigation has to be made simple, simpler fonts are to be used and non-
overriding of styling is to be maintained. Precision of the software also needs to be
maintained as there are people with poor hand coordination who might face problems with
drop down items.

Ways in which ICT can be used to reduce carbon footprint and contribute to Green
ICT
Green ICT focuses more on making a pollution free industry and reducing the carbon
waste. It may occur that Information and Communication Technology industry do not
contribute to generate carbon footprints, however, in reality; this industry also is responsible
for producing mammoth resources of CO2 and other harmful toxic materials (Freeman,
Elmirghani & Despins, 2017).
In addition, it produces a humongous amount of e-waste as well, although that is not a
contributing factor in carbon foot printing. The primary action to be taken to reduce carbon
footprints by utilizing ICT is to save energy by reducing consumption of resources and
eliminating harmful emissions.
This requires the usage of the maximum IT assets for minimum wastage, conversion
of hardware system into virtualization and implementation of Heating, Ventilation and Air-
conditioning (Kaleem, Jain & Husain, 2017). These steps ensure the minimum e-wastage
along with minimum use of hardware. Virtualization also makes sure of the least amount of
e-wastage where HVAC technique guarantees to cut the overheating of ICT equipments.

1. Upgrading a computer from Windows 7 to Windows 10
Upgrading the Operating System of a computer from Windows 7 to Windows 10 is a
project. This could be said, as this is a particular course of work that is defined and has an
objective outcome. The project will have a definite ending right after the OS has been

upgraded (Joslin & Müller, 2015). The task being a non-repetitive one also confirms it as a
project. The task is broadly defined and has a beginning point and an ending point, though it
does not define a fixed time for the project ending.
2. Upgrading all 120 computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10
Upgrading a set of 120 computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10 can be labelled as a
process. This is because it defines all the features of a process. The objective of the task is to
be carried out throughout the entire life cycle of the process unless the 120 computers are
upgraded. A process is a collection of similar projects, and upgrading a single computer is a
project, therefore, upgrading a collection of computers can be simply put as a process (Joslin
& Müller, 2015). Again, a process is repetitive with sequence of tasks. Upgrading 120
computers with the same attributes also adds to the argument of the task being a process.
