TASK 1

I am looking for marketing executive job in the retail sector as my career path. It is because i
always have interest in this field. I have strong idea about this job because my father is also a
marketing manager in reputable organization. I have selected this as my career because I have
strong leadership skills.

The top three skills I will require to successfully get the job of marketing executive are as
follows:
 Communication skills
 Analytical skills
 Creative skills
In order to develop analytical skills in myself, I will play mind games. To develop
communication skills, I will join personality development course and to develop creative skills, I
will participate in art competition (Rimmer, 2018).

I have always interest in creating unique promotional and marketing ideas of different products.
For example, I love to conduct advertisement and promotional campaign along with preparation
of annual reports which indicate that my interest totally align with my career aspirations.

The top five organizations that are hiring students and graduates for the position of marketing
executives are as follows:

The high growth opportunity is the first and most significant benefit which attracts me towards
this type of organizations (Rimmer, 2018).

The three activities I would undertake to develop skills and strength in myself are as follows:
1. I will read news articles and different books on daily basis.
2. I will observe others actions in order to develop problem solving skills in myself.
3. Lastly, i will exercise daily to enhance my creative skills and in order to keep myself
healthy and positive.
TASK 2
The today's session is all about understanding occupation choices, career planning and
barriers to career planning. The career choices and planning is the aspect of today session which
I have found out more interesting because i always face difficulty in selecting best career choice
for me and planning the same.
During this session, the one thing I have learnt is career planning process. The five step
career planning process will definitely help me to identify where I want to go and what action i
will take to reach at that point (Choi, and et.al., 2018). The career development plan is the most
interesting aspect of session which has helped me to understand my own strength and weakness.
Basically, I am not sure about my skills and strength which is the biggest challenge for me to
select a career option. I also face difficulty in performing my own SWOT analysis.
I might have learnt more about the personal analysis, if I am able to listen the sessions
carefully. But due to some personal issue, I missed the part of deciding what I want to do and
personal analysis. The impact of which I am unable to identify what is my strength and weakness
which has further created issue in my selection of career choice. It means the reflection part of
the session has been missed by me which is now i need to understand by myself.
So, now the first thing I want to do is asking my friend to explain to me how to write
reflection and do personal analysis (Auriacombe and Meyer, 2020). After learning the same from
my friend, I will daily practice it by myself until I learn the same and able to identify my

strengthen and weakest skills. It is because on this basis only, I need to identify that the career
choice I have selected is best for me or not.

Step 1
A. I am seeking development at this point of time because I want to make my career in
marketing field and became marketing manager in reputed retail organization.
B. The communication skills I need to develop in myself at this point of time.
C. I need job position of marketing manager in retail organization. My specific goals is to help
the company to because top in world because of its marketing strategies.
Step 2
D. I will join the personality development course and try to practice it 30 minutes every day in
order to develop new skills in myself (Gonzaga, 2019).
E. Why = It is because I want to become marketing manager.
What = I want to develop communication, creative and analytical skills in myself.
How = By joining personality development course.
F. The development options:
 Communication and active listening skills
 Analytical skills
 Creativity skills
Step 3
 I will take the personality development course, play mind games and will practice skills
daily 30 minutes.
 I might get lazy which could go wrong with my plan which affect my daily practice.
 In case if my original plan get fail, I will start listening more, reading more books etc.

 The alternative way I will take to achieve the plan is creating strict schedule, getting
feedback

helped me to increase my profile and reputation at the workplace (Dacillo, 2018). Now, I am
able to lead mu team and communicate with my team in the best manner possible. The skills
have also helped me to get new opportunities in the marketing career without any much effort.
