Self-Evaluation Template
1. Start with your biggest accomplishments since the last review period. List only those that
are the most relevant and important to your position, and in order of significance.
In the last year and after the last review period, the company has seen an increase and growth
in the sales by around 28% under my leadership and supervision. The hardwork of the team
also had a tremendous contribution in the sales growth. I have tried to create some more
efficient Standard Operating Procedures(Qin and et,al., 2022) to ensure that the outreach
process can be streamlined, team members perform in consistent and effective ways and also
the new employees can have a clear outline of the processes to be followed to improve their
productivity.
2. What were your biggest challenges and how did you overcome them?
One of my biggest challenges was to adapt to the rapidly changing technology. To aid the
new innovations and processes, effective technical knowledge is very crucial. I have the basic
technical skills but now the time demands upgraded skills to be more efficient and
productive. And when I realised it, I spent extra hours trying to learn what I did not know and
overcome this challenge. This could have reduced my efficiency, hence I tried to learn these
technical aspects using various sources like from colleagues who are good at it or from
internet and tried to use what I have learnt under the supervision of others, so that I can
efficiently put to use what I have learnt.
3. In which areas do you think you could improve? What is your plan for improving?
I plan to improve myself in the aspect of leadership. Although the team has shown good
performance but there were times when I felt like I could have done better as a leader than I

was doing then. I realised that sometimes what I tried to communicate was not exactly how it
was conveyed to the employees that lead to confusions. I started thinking about it critically and
plan to improve this skill by taking feedbacks and suggestion from my team members in terms
of the improvements I can make as their leader and work on their suggestions
4. What are your goals for the next period? What might you do to achieve them?
My goal for the next period is to increase the sales even more by around 35-40% from the
current period. I plan to do this by revising and making required changes in the SOPs so that
they can be even more efficient. And I also plan to motivate the team by offering attractive
incentives so that they can reach their full potential. I will also invest in sales enablement so
that my team can engage the customers more successfully and also the engagement of
prospects can be better.
TASK 2: REFLECTIVE COMMENTARY
The aspect that I found most interesting in today’s sessions-
The aspect of importance of reviews was the most interesting aspect. Organisation now
conducts performance reviews frequently so that timely evaluation of the performance of the
individual can be done and the measures that need to be taken to overcome the weaknesses can
be identified (Hernández-Ortega, 2020). The main purpose of performance reviews are
generally classified in two segments- The main or primary use of these reviews are to evaluate
the performance of the employees and increase their productivity by analysing their strengths
and weaknesses and acting accordingly. The secondary use of these reviews is to identify the
administrative needs like decisions regarding the compensations, promotions, etc. and the
developmental needs of the employees.
The one thing I learnt
The one thing that I learnt is the performance reviews are beneficial for both, the organisation
and the employees. It is useful to the organisation as it can help to identify the strengths and

weaknesses of the employees so that the required training and development plans can be made
accordingly and also promotions and compensation can be fairly done. It is beneficial for the
employees as they are motivated to perform better and this motivation also enhances their self-
esteem when they are praised for success.
I’m not sure about
I’m not certain about the frequency these reviews should be done in. As various organisations
and employees have different perspectives and opinions about the time intervals that should be
given between two intervals(Mourão and et.al., 2020). Also the need for these reviews is
different is different organisations and for different employees. Hence, I am not sure about
what would be the effective time period in which the reviews should be conducted and if a
same time period should be decided for everyone or different plans should be made for various
departments in the organisation.
I might have learnt more if
I might have learnt more if the session included more examples and especially real-life
examples to make the points clearer as learning these aspects with the examples taken from
various organisations or situations would have been more effective and easier to understand
and implement in real life situations(Lacka, Chan and Wang, 2020).
Things I want to do now
Now I want to understand and learn these aspects in better ways by using various other sources
of knowledge like textbooks, through internet or from seniors who have better practical
understanding of these aspects so that I can use these more effectively and without any
confusion whenever needed.

reviews also show better results.

There are many options to develop my skills like watching videos, reading textbooks and
