Rationale: 500 words
My placement at Evans High school (Black town, Walters road) will be as a support officer. I
will majorly mentor subjects like Mathematics and English. The placement will be highly
helpful in planning the lectures for students with mathematics and science. The placement
will provides opportunities for assessing the resources which are required for understanding
the typical English and maths lectures. As I am going through the school’s details,
considering the technological requisite, the school seems to upgrade its resources for
familiarising students with mathematics topics. It makes use of pathways for familiarising
students with the maths topics and making them easy for all. I am also going through school’s
website and checked its results for last 5 years for assessing school’s performance and am
also comparing with other prestigious schools. I am also checking about school’s
performance and techniques which are used for all types of students. I will have to support
and teach high schools students and will also try to understand their issues with the subject
and their coursework and assignment work. I am sure that I will address number of issues
which are currently faced by students and also will learn to formed varied strategies and
actions which can be used for improvising their situation and easing complex situations for
them.
The practical application of teaching will help me in gaining number of skills and teaching
techniques. In the teaching coursework, apart from knowledge skills, it is also vital to
understand the issues which are confronted by students in grasping skills and mathematics
techniques. Classroom strategies are another thing which I will learn as these depict the way
in which students with different background and different capabilities understand the
complex techniques. I am also aware with the fact that every student is capable of grasping
knowledge and techniques. But, the human factors such as confidence, enthusiasm, sincerity,
and focus play crucial in learning new concepts and techniques. There has been enough
technological advancement and my view is to constantly make use of this technology in
advancing students with newer concepts. I will share all my views and technical knowledge
with my future supporting officer as I know that different students have different knowledge
and varied capacity in understanding topics. The teaching experience must be necessarily
easy, enjoyable, free and hassle-free so as to motivate students for generating their interest in
education and also for motivating them to use innovative intellect skills towards teaching
experience. My overall opinion about my future placement is to make use of technological

advancement skills which create interests of all students and allow them to think differently.
The subjects like mathematics are technical one which involves learning newer concepts and
also has a lot of practical aspects of learning. On the other hand, English is language subject
which necessarily needs regular learning to improve grammar and skills. Language is vital in
every aspect of profession and life. I will also focus on the fact that due to difference in
education interest, some students might not learn in proper way, they must be taught to learn
in a more interesting manner.
